Beauty Dwells In Places All Around Us-- Featuring AD Creations from SAVIAD, no. 7, EMO-tions, KaTink and Wicca's Wardrobe

My whole world I've built slowly over the years in Second Life takes root in others, friends who've made the experience intensely important to me, friends who were involved to the point where they brightened my world and lessened the general burden life heaps on our shoulders at time.
When I heard yesterday that I'd been selected as one of three bloggers who worked with the SAVIAD Spring Fair, to win a prize, and a privilege, I couldn't think clearly. I considered the chance to be one of the bloggers was a great gift, and then to be recognized by the team of designers, for the effort and time I put into each blog for this event, wow.
There are still items I have to share from SAVIAD. It's on til the end of this month, so if you've seen something here in Facebook from any of the SAVIAD bloggers, or said "Aha! I want that..." then you should head over and get 'that'! Exclusives are a part of the experience, and time keeps on slipping in that hourglass. One of the dresses you'll love comes from AD Creations, and the gown shown here. It's got a darker Gothic energy, designed with creativity that shows in each detail.
I'm happy to show some of KaTink Poses as well as some from Wicca's Wardrobe with this gown. no. 7 has these Aero Wing Lashes in their recently released bucket of greatness! And I've not yet seen armlets like these new this week from EMO-tions. She's used a rigged mesh arm layer, like one might use for arm-warmers in winter, and designed intricate jewelry on that layer instead.

My deepest appreciation goes to each designer who created elements that made this style possible:

Running Barefoot In the Spring - Pichi, Chop Zuey, and EMO-tions

I joined a Flickr group or two (don't remember if it was two or not egads, my swiss cheese brain!!) that wants photos of places, pretty places, interesting places, and I deliberately seek those out when I have the energy to do so. The 3.27.2014 1a then is a full photo shot, with me as only a small spot of the overall photo. Not so much fashion as an appreciation for artsy places and people in SL.
I have had the very best time working with the creative energy put into the SAVIAD Spring Fair and I cannot believe how time flies. Only a few more days are left for this event and I've got several items I still very much want to share, and I don't know if I'll get through to each of them before the end but I'm going to continue to try. This pretty little mini dress from Pichi felt like a perfect representation of Spring. It's one of those moments where I consciously chose not to adorn the face or hair with a lot of amenities.
That first day of spring, running barefoot out of doors, tugging my hair up in a loose knot and playing a bit like the little girl of yesteryear, it's one of my memories that repeated year after year as I grew, and regardless where I lived, eventually Spring would come and chase away the darker days of Winter.
The hair from EMO-tions fit with the same energy as did the Candice Papavar skin tone from Kyxe Skins & Shapes without any of the makeup options that you can get with Papavar. I pulled some casual jewelry from my box from Chop Zuey, some new pieces and well loved pieces I already owned, suited to a lighthearted mood as well, not too done up, and perfect for an afternoon picnic with someone special.

By the Bay -- Featuring LushbyCoCo at SAVIAD, New from EMO-tions, KaTink Poses, Dot-Be Fashion, and no. 7

LushByCoCo just sounds like something good. It could be I'm hungry, but for whatever reason, this brand makes me think of specialty flavor cheesecake. SAVIAD has a few more days and you can find this great jacket there.
You'll find the pants and boots set go very well together because they're created for the same Gigi outfit at Dot-be fashion.

I used the other set of Mindy KaTink Poses here.
You'll also note new hair from EMO-tions and dark and Kissable Lips from no. 7 (from the Skin Fair).

Thank you designers for all you contributed to make this blog possible:

A Dark Angels - SAVIAD !Lybra and PosESioN, EMO-tions Jewelry and Hair

Every so often I realize I thought I knew something that I didn't really know, like song lyrics, and they made perfect sense to me until I finally read them or heard them one time, and they were so different than what I'd been singing. Sometimes for years!
My Special Thanks To Designers Who Made This Look Possible:
Featuring SAVIAD !Lybra Malificent
Featuring SAVIAD PosESioN Fiero Set
Featuring EMO-tions Ariel Silver and Black Jewelry
Featuring EMO-tions Annie
1. Liv-Glam: Sculpted Lashes
2. KMADD/Moda: Mesh Eyes
3. Kyxe Skins & Shapes: Alabaster Skin Tone
4. Kyxe Skins & Shapes: Glamour Cocoa
5. [S H O C K]: Starshine Glitter Nails

I feel like that at times when I'm getting dressed, on or off line. Something that I thought might look great together suddenly doesn't look quite right. I don't even know why at times; I just know that it doesn't work. I think with fashion, as with music, seeing it, hearing it, playing it, over and over, teaches a little at a time.
I always knew I liked the theatrical singer Meatloaf. I liked him but not sure I could have told you why. I probably heard his music played umpteen times while I was in middle and high school, and I probably sang along, with words that weren't actually words to the song, trundling along through my teen years.
My sweetheart, he's a music aficionado, and wouldn't dare repeat words unless he'd read the jacket, or the music lyrics online and knew them clearly and correctly. Needless to say I probably irked him a time or two, totally destroying his favorite songs. We were watching American Idol because it's a guilty pleasure and fills the air with sometimes decent music, commenting on the young shaggy singer who was still in the competition last time we watched on demand... a fella who reminded me of Meatloaf.

Now why did he remind me of this singer? I don't know. I barely knew anything about Meatloaf, while Mr. Man knew every lyric it turns out, of this song that lasts 8 and a half minutes. I'm fairly sure they would not let mr. shaggy singer have 8 1/2 minutes on Idol to test his chops on Meatloaf, but it certainly created a fun moment for us. "Why do you like Meatloaf. Do you know what he always had in his hand while he sang?" What difference does it make? This was not the right comment of course. ~laughing~

This song, Paradise By the Dashboard Light, ended up cracking me up as Mr. flipped on YouTube, because you can do that with a PS3, who knew? And we listened to every word while I had the lyrics up on my laptop, trying to please the man, and eventually laughing so hard with him, that we forgot Idol for a bit and just sat there enjoying the amusement.

It's a theatrical song with a story behind it, which makes it make more sense that the song itself is 8 1/2 minutes. Meatloaf and his girl are singing, and at some point, he wants sex, don't we all??!! and she wants to know if he loves her. He asks, "Can I sleep on it?" but she wants to know NOW.

"Will you love me forever

Let me sleep on it

Will you love me forever

I couldn't take it any longer Lord I was crazed And when the feeling came upon me Like a tidal wave I started swearing to my god And on my mother's grave That I would love you to the end of time I swore I would love you to the end of time

So now I'm praying for the end of time To hurry up and arrive 'Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you I don't think that I can really survive I'll never break my promise or forget my vow But God only knows what I can do right now I'm praying for the end of time"

I don't know how many other boys and girls somewhere in their teen years have been through such a conversation, about love, sex and all things important to people that age, but the last part of the song is what tickled me most. He commits, he even agrees that the vow is one he can never break.

I work daily on making sure I get this or that look 'right', and I realize there are times when I completely make things up as I go along, and other times I pour over every little detail and want to know it as clearly as I learned this song. I'm human. You are too, by the way. It's okay not to always get it exactly finitely RIGHT. Sometimes, I think it's just fine to get it the best we can, and get better later. Can I sleep on it?

Getting Over Monday -- Featuring Countdown from SAVIAD, NEW Poses from KaTink, Cae Jewelry and Kyxe Skins & Shapes

The new series of photos come from the last of the day yesterday. Isn't it odd how a day makes a difference. If it's Monday, it just feels differently than Tuesday and of course, each of us define which days are valued more and which ones are more ~grrr~ and look forward to or cringe as each one comes and goes.
I'm in the military. Well not me, personally. I'm medically disabled retired USN, but I'm still married to the military, and he's back at work, creating rhythm for our life again, with the passing of days. When he was home healing from surgery, neither of us knew what day of the week it was or time of day. There was some freedom to that, but also a sense of falling but never reaching the bottom of the hole.
As I struggled through a new Monday yesterday, a day where my best friend in my whole world had to return to work and leave me deserted for the better part of 12 hours, I thought of our world and how life evolves, and does so slowly sometimes, so you don't even remember when it changed.
When I was younger, more agile, more on the go, if I got a little lonely or missed him on a Monday, I'd get my keys and head out into the world. I've never been much of a shopper, but I've always loved people watching. Now I do not drive and don't go galavanting, but I still get out of my head in my own way. Much of the time it includes my visits to Second Life and my interactions with people here, friends, business associates, and otherwise.

I also always felt less melancholy when I paused to put pretty on, pretty hair, pretty clothing, did my nails, whatever I could do to make myself feel like I'd created a positive change in my day, and it doesn't and didn't take all that much to make it happen. I do that now with clothing like this gown from Countdown at SAVIAD. And show it off with brand new poses that came out this weekend from KaTink Poses (the Mindy set 1). I think the jewelry is elegant and suits the gown and it's one of those sets that allows you to change texture and metal, so you have many sets instead of just one. It's from Cae. And no look would be complete without skin from Kyxe Skins & Shapes.

I made it through my Monday this week and already working on a Tuesday. I hope you enjoy your day, whatever day it is in your world, and pull silver linings from the most difficult.

Going Nowhere? -- Featuring Snowpaws and no. 7 from the Skin Fair

On a bus to Nowhere? Some days feel like this lack of direction means there is a problem. I think maybe we all need 'nowhere' days to recover from the big days where we go everywhere and do everything. The photos I took last night were all curious to my mind set and suited perfectly to my mood.
How many pay telephone booths are there now? Did you ever run to answer the phone, hoping it was a boy you liked or a special girl, or news you were waiting for, only to find it was a wrong number?
I love to perform on stage sometimes. Other times it makes me ill for a week leading up to it, and several weeks after I 'get it over with.' Different jobs I've had in my 45 years prepared me for a whole array of reasons and whens to speak publicly, and it really depended more on the people, and if I liked them! then it did on me. ~chuckles~
I love Carrie Snowpaw. I've known her almost as long as I've know the fashion industry. I also know snippets of a personal world, and friendship details that have far more importance to me than pixels in this virtual world. I have had weeks when I was just beginning to blog where the only new outfit I could share was one graciously given to me from Snowpaws. I've never wanted to be the person with the hand outreached, begging for anything, but it's really special to know that there are friends out there who'd share what they had, and not judge you for being desperate, for begging, for yearning to do more and sometimes making them crazy in the process. That's my relationship to Carrie.

Carrie Snowpaw shared the Naika Ruffled Mesh Bodysuit Flush and Eclipse, a new release from Snowpaws. The print on the pale pink and red softened the first version while the hard lines of black and white made the second version feel a little more sophisticated. I paired with Kyxe Skins, Alabaster, for the Flush jumper and put the no. 7 Comic Book like makeup from the Skin Fair with it. On the second more conservative look, I show you Candice without any makeup layer, to see how exquisite the face is before you use any of Kyxe Skins & Shapes awesome makeup options that include new Electra eye shadow, new Nail Appliers and so much more! In Snowpaws Flush suit, I chose a very casual hair from Wasabi Pills and the Eclipse color has a playful hairstyle from blackLiquid.

My great thanks to each designer who made this blog possible:

Wonderland - Featuring FINESMITH at SAVIAD - The Butterfly and PosESioN at SAVIAD

I seem to wind my wandering self around to Wonderland from time to time. I feel distinctly that sense of falling down the long white rabbit's hole to a world I don't quite recognize. It happens all the time. Sometimes people suddenly behave like someone I've never met, and other times it's me behaving strangely.
We all have reasons we get lost in ourselves, and lost in our world. I really loved "What the Bleep?! ~Down the Rabbit Hole" - a movie that came out about 8 years ago and a movie that addressed a whole slew of new ideas that change physics forever, quantum physics and all the theory that accompanies it. It's not so far from the experience Alice had, too big one moment, too little another, talking to a cat with no body, only a smile, and having a party with a perfectly mad hatter.
Finesmith created the Butterfly and offers it in several colors at the SAVIAD Fair. You can get the three colors I've shown here (fractal, blue and light) as well as other colors. I've used another new pose from PosESioN, the Art II series, and then wandered around !Almost Wonderland and used their poses built into props for the second two photos.
Every photo I take contains some element of Kyxe Skins & Shapes as I'm thoroughly enamored by the work of Kyxea and October. Candice released this weekend (as promised) and is set at a great price. You should drop by and try a demo. The overall look of the face feels very current to me. I think the eyebrows on this face are my favorite feature. It's not surprising that eyebrows can make or break new skin designs. These are spot on!

My sincere thanks for each designer who contributed to make this blog possible:

Tiger's Alley Found At SAVIAD Items from Silken Moon & Poet's Heart, Plus Demise of Flight, Hawker's House, and no. 7

I just shared an item from Malicia Python - Silken Moon yesterday but when I saw this new additional item for Tiger's Alley at SAVIAD, I knew I had to style with it. It's so truly me.
I found new boots from Hawker's House Clothing in my little box of goodies.
I accidentally discovered the umbrella from Poet's Heart as I did a quick search to see if I owned an umbrella for the photo in the rain. I did AND it was new and from SAVIAD also. How lucky is that?
no. 7 has many little treats out at this year's Skin Fair including these 'Kissing Lips' I layered over my Kyxe skin. Only... I thought all lips were for kissing! I didn't know. ~grins~
I wanted to shoot my photos on Image Essentials' sim because I used several new items from Demise of Flight, one of the terrific multipurpose stores that are on that sim. Jeans, the pair pose with a new found friend who came to help, BabyDarkAngle, and the other poses from a Gacha pose set all are created by the same designer.
I like to do a few blogs a month from Image Essentials because the owner - Kay Weston - puts so much of herself into the sim and has it open for anyone and doesn't ask for anything really in return for herself.

Most gracious thanks to each designer who made this style possible:
Featuring SAVIAD Silken Moon Call of the Wild Jacket Plus Makeup!

Like Mike -- Featuring from SAVIAD Silken Moon, Xen's Hats, [natzuka], PosESioN - Also Pure Poison

I want to be like Mike. Well no, not Mike. It was an advertisement campaign some years ago, when everyone thought Michael Jordan was the ultimate in basketball athletics. There was nothing he could not do. And yes, that double negative was intentional. Nothing.

I really want to be like the elegant, sophisticated eloquent model bloggers whom I might idolize a little like children wanted to be like Mike. My favorite continues to be Cao. She shares her soul and happens to dress in the most stylish, most fun, most bestest way while she does. She cares for others, invests her time in causes she truly supports with time and effort, and she's always quick with a shoulder or a hug for friends.
I really want to be like October. She seems to have her finger on the pulse of fashion. Her networking skills are leaps and bounds ahead of my own, and I consider myself pretty good at getting the right people together to make something happen. In the midst of everything crazy in her life, she manages to make me feel like I'm someone important, that I'm never interrupting her (even when I know I am) and that she really listens to what I share. It's not a head nod and okay thanks bye-bye.
I really want to be like Wicca. Every time I've ever spoken to her, she's apologized for not knowing English well. I wonder why this is, since I could not even begin to speak German and I do not apologize for this. I think I save her ears by me not even attempting it. Besides this, she's very humble when she receives compliments. I think maybe it's possible she doesn't realize how astoundingly amazing she actually is. Her style helps me see that style should be original and special, and unique to self. With my own whimsical approach to things, combining these super heroes of the fashion world, I feel like I can grow, I can learn, I can reach higher and farther and push my own envelope.
One hero, Mr. Juan Frolic Mills, I really don't want to be like him. No, not in a mean spirited, oh how did he just say that to me... sort of way! Every time I've ever spoken to him, he's had 5,000 things in progress. He stays busier than anyone I've ever virtually or physically met. It's no wonder the businesses he touches evolve in positive ways. It's no wonder that the legacy he's created will live beyond his wildest dreams. I just don't have the energy to sustain a life like his. I probably don't have the energy to attain the heights of my other heroic influences either, but Mr. Mills... well he just seems HuGeRtHaNLiFe!

Loads of New - Nailed It at SAVIAD, h.m.a.e.m. at Couturier's Docks, Belle Amie, Chop Zuey, {mv}, Ch, KMADD/Moda

Wow, I'm having fun with styling lately. Tonight I put together a whole smorgasboard of items that I haven't shared previously. The SAVIAD Fair is represented by the crafty nails from Nailed It.
This month's Couturier's Docks host an array of talented designers that include this dress from h.m.a.e.m. Chop Zuey gives away far more than one could ever imagine and I know there's a world of customers out there who are so grateful for Belle's goodness, and that includes me! The bracelet comes from one of her recent gift releases.
I had leggings from {MV} still in my inbox to blog folder from Sexxx Sells event last month. I also had items from the Jewelry Expo event still unopened, both the Dragons from Belle Amie and Ch's ankle boots seen here.
And I could not thank KMADD/MODA Designs enough for the selection of hair styles. Truly a pleasure...

My thanks to each designer who made this blog possible:

From SAVIAD: ARTIZANA, blackLiquid and Moondance - Also no. 7 at Skin Fair, {{BSD}} and KaTink

Maybe there is something a little bit fierce and tribal in all of us, regardless of heritage or modern current culture. When I saw this dress design from Artizana, the Blessing Connection, I knew I wanted to style it. I'm not familiar with the brand, but that's the fun part of working with events like SAVIAD. I've been exposed to a number of new designers, and thrilled by every minute of it.
Included also from SAVIAD, the jewelry from Moondance Boutique (which I think you can see really well in the third photo) felt like it just called out to be a part of this style. blackLiquid has the Spring Sparkle - and a unique set of lips colors not shown here - at SAVIAD. It really lightens up the area around my eyes and contrasted well on top of the no. 7 Safari makeup from the Skin Fair. This is another outfit that let me show you shoes and I have several heels I want to show you from the fantastic content creator at BSD Design studio including the ones shown here called Dancing Queen.
And I went to find a new set of poses after seeing this delicious look, something special or different, eye catching and I got the Luna 1 and Luna 2 set of poses from KaTink Poses. The first pose I tried made me like a jungle goddess dancing. It's the first time since I bought a set of poses exception being the two massive sets sold by pose designers who boxed and sold 800+ poses in one deal! OMG right??
Each time I've shopped for poses, it was for a contest or a casting and I'd find just one I liked, and grab it. The two Luna sets made me think buying sets makes more sense. Doh! More poses, less expensive. You'd think I'd have that figured out by now. Oh dear. It just takes my brain a while to compute, 3 years or so this time! I'm so grateful that Marit, aka annemarit Jarvinen allowed me to begin blogging poses from Katink and I know this is just the first of many positively wonderful experiences!

To each designer included in this latest look, thank you so much!

Carrie's Excellent Customer Service and Gorgeous Lingerie - Kyxe and Kastle Rock Couture

I had a great time today at Carrie's Lingerie. Not only did I have a chance to visit with one of the excellent Managers there, she helped with a backdrop so we could use the props in the store for photos, then she hopped into one of the photographs with me to showcase a different outfit.
Because of her, I can show you two new releases from Carrie's. I wore the new Sophie in peach and Pandora (fireangle Gothly) wore the brand new Laria 2 in purple. These designs are both available at Carrie's tonight and there's also a gorgeous new release for VIPs if you're an avid Carrie's lover!
I promised another view or two of the Candice face, the newest face at Kyxe Skins & Shapes, and this is Candice in the Marigold skin tone.
I also have Kastle Rock Couture, Gabriella thigh high boots on and **BIG** smiles too, because I'm a boots addict. I've found it difficult lately to share shoes or boots because so many gowns cover the feet and then some and even those that have flexi prims added still cover the feet, so I gots me some boots on with my lingerie.

Thank you so much for contributing to the style designers:

Monochrome and a Pop Of Color -- Featuring from SAVIAD - Gizza and PosESioN -- Plus EMO-tions and Kyxe

Here it is, early in the wee hours of a new day or late at the end of an old day. I suppose it depends on perspective. I haven't had the motivation or energy to do such a flurry of blog posts and styles as I have this past 10 days or so. I embrace the energy when it comes, feed off of it, and if it flits away again, I am getting used to that too.

This style from Gizza, the Lolita Dress, comes with everything right in one package, the top, the skirt, the leggings, the heels and the hat all work together to form a montage of monochrome pieces.

I edited the butterflies on both the hat and waist to add a pop of fresh vibrant spring color. New no. 7 from the Skin Fair provided for the brilliantly colored lips and a recent release from EMO-tions also matched, even flow with the other tints of brown and beige.

A new 'Face' comes to Kyxe Skins & Shapes soon, Candice, and I'll share her with you a few times. I thought oh la la, I want to show you this latest bit of art, then realized the hat hid so many of the features, so be teased this time and next time you'll see a wee bit more.

I gratefully acknowledge those who contributed to this styling:
