Sing Us a Song, You're the Piano Man

Some of the most fun print work I've done has been at Image Essentials. When I show up, I never know exactly what's in store because Kay Weston offers fun, creative and often brilliant static displays all around her sim and for sale in her store.

She took several photographs to showcase the multiple pose options in her latest display, and here three of us are, singing to our heart's content. Destiny's Child or Dixie Chicks? I don't know!

Laying across the piano while a handsome fella plays seems like a fairy tale come true for me. There's a natural sexiness to it, yet also understated in its alluring qualities.

A sweetheart of a model and new friend joined us, Aely Witte, and she and I took up our mics to add another track to our song. It had to be a live performance, no?

Then Aely had a moment in the spotlight, and I thought she looked like she matched the set so well it felt a little bit like a Broadway set.

I didn't know the other gal there, but her vivacious spirit shone through and her eagerness to get the best shot and help in the overall shoot was infectious and warm. With a name like Wonk-a-licious, you know it's going to be good. I told her one of my favorite childhood stories was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

I won't give away the Piano Man's identity. It's top secret or so I was told.

If you haven't visited Image Essentials, a sim that's home to three terrific pose/prop designers, you really should. Meet Kay Weston, Ally Dwyer and Nikki Wildmist each bring their own perspective to the property and have a plethora of places for natural shots, open photography studios for female, male, couple and family shots, and so much more. They also began hosting a photo competition earlier this year and that too has inspired some really neat outcomes.

Model's Workshop Presents a Spring Fashion Show

This weekend, Snowpaws participates in a fashion show that's been put together by a fantastic staff at Model's Workshop.

A remarkable number of women and men with a great deal of experience work with Monica Balut, the owner of Model's Workshop, and together they've choreographed and styled and paced and rehearsed. Additionally, they've taken novice models who eagerly seek the chance to model under their wings, mentoring, lending an extra hand, extra time and touch. All that means this show exudes positive impact on many levels. It's just the sort of thing Carrie Snowpaw volunteers to encourage. Along with Snowpaws, 69 Park Avenue, Glam Dreams and House of Eliot all show their Spring collections.

Sample Scripts from the desk of Caryn

A sweetheart of a lady who's going to be participating in the upcoming Dual Fashions fashion show asked for assistance with her outfit's script. She sent me her photos and her style card for each outfit. This is what I came up with for her:

As Spring approaches, everyone looks to the bright green world outdoors. (name) found herself coaxed by that enchanting promise of beauty and fresh air and chose this chic outfit Flower by Dual Fashions that perfectly echoes the siren song of renewal. Pinks contrast well against the turquoise top, from BP's Rosie Bangles to those fashionable Mons Rounded Sunglasses and the Lisanna hat from Glam Affair. Still more pink paints her face a pretty picture with Elymode Alato Makeup and Pink Poison Gloss by BlackLiquid. The boots come with the outfit and provide protection should the weather change, and speaking of weather, she remembers her Ula Lavendell Poppins Umbrella... just in case.

Elegance eases like the warmth of Spring as (name) comes to greet us wearing Dual Fashions Opera in White. The alluring dress blends a sensuality with refinement perfect for a special evening at the Opera. To enhance her charm, she's added the Sultry updo from Ravens in black and dark thick lashes by MG to match. Hints of color accent this look from the Lazuri Enchanted Red Ruby and Black Onyx jewelry, to the brilliant Red Glitter Grace sandals by GOS tucked just under the hem of the gown. You'll also note the make-up makes her face come alive with the joy of the moment as Pekka Party Eyeshadow in Pink and Aqua couples with BlackLiquid's Pink Poison gloss. Just as she turns to go, you notice the Enchanted Diamond gleam in the light and wonder, "When did she get engaged?"

If you're in a fashion show, directing, or any other back stage role and part of your duty is to write the text, I'd be glad to work with you. Just send me an IM in world to caryn Ashdene or email me at hiscapturedsoul@gmail.com - I need the style card and a photo of the model. Let's have fun together!

Syrenz Shadows at Midweek Madness

This week I pulled an item from the Midweek Madness sale from Syrenz because it brought back good memories. Nostalgia is like sugar filling in a doughnut, sweet and sweeter.

A very good friend of mine collected Avis that were unique in every extent of what could be done with avi creations in 2005. Things have developed immensely in the world of Second Life and the avis can be so much more complex than those early memories, but I know if he was still in world, still playing, he would love this Cyber Tooth Tyger from Syrenz. Just love it. Thank you for the warm recollections and the very cool avi.

::jazzitude:: at Midweek Madness

I have worked with jazzitude several times now as they continue to add items to the Midweek Madness sales event and I was thrilled to review their work this week.

The two Halloween tanks come as a pair from jazzitude. I thought they were both perfect for the season of tricks and treats, and the one about zombies made me smile as my son makes me watch zombie movies, much to my yech I can't believe I'm watching this. The thing we do for love. Halloween. Zombies. Tank tops from jazzitude. Have fun!

blah:BLAH:blah at Midweek Madness + Artistry by ~E~

I think blah:BLAH:blah did an excellent job with lingerie this week for Midweek Madness in their offer of Body Suit Fat Pack (6 colors - Grey, Black, Black and Red shown in photo, Blue, Brown and Red.)

I've tried my hand as a designer on more than one occasion so I know how difficult it is to get lingerie to work well in world. This bodysuit is sexy and beautiful in all the optional colors.

I also had the joy of 'Trick or Treating' at Artistry by ~E~. Endra Graves spoiled those who trick-or-treat with an array of special Halloween 2012 Jewelry. It might be a bit fancier than what I normally wear with lingerie, but I'm thinking with that lingerie and those gems, maybe someone handsome will want to find me in their treat bag this season!

[BuFu] PMHH - Two Low Ridin Pair of Pants

Male friends of mine do not seem to mind how drastically low this new design of pants have been cut...

Two colors are hidden this month for the Pimp My Hunter's Hunt and when you find them, and wear them, trust me, the special people in your life won't mind how low they ride on your hips either. Talk about 'butt cleavage'. Oh my!

Long, sleekly hugging to the curves of the body, this Red Dress from Stars Fashion looks smashing for this playful time of year.

Liv-Glam Everyday Madison Fall Suit

This week, there is a new suit for sale at Liv-Glam, the Everyday Madison Fall Suit.

This suit has 12 mad awesome textures from the designers at Liv-Glam that seem to know some sort of elf magic when it comes to color, texture and design. You can have the structured jacket match the tailored slacks that come with belt already attached, or you can choose two of the textures, using one on the upper layer and one on the lower like I did in the photo. The jacket is closed enough to make you decent. If you want to make it a little more professional, add a top under the jacket to cover a little more skin.

Zanze House Couture at Avenue's 5th Anniversary

Three gorgeous new looks are available at Zanze, all from the Avenue event that happened this weekend to celebrate Avenue's fifth anniversary. Each of these pieces had certain criteria to meet, a color challenge of sorts, and all are great options for a fall wardrobe.

The pants suit, Zaid outfit, came with several layers. The pants and top are both mesh, and figure enhancing. There's a system jacket in another shade of grade below the furry flexi layered jacket that you see shimmering in the photo. It's a refined look, chic and so fashionably current.

The long dress, the Zeina Gown, drapes lightly, loosely falling past the waist all the way down to the floor. This long gown has a prim collar reminiscent of the Elizabethan collars worn centuries ago. It frames the face and encourages your special someone to look deeply into your loving eyes.

Another dress ripples in an hourglass shape, the Zenya Gown, and with that strapless sweetheart neckline, va-va-voom. You're going to turn a few heads when you walk into the room. Flexi skirting sways sensually, and barely caresses your toes and heels as it drops lowest in the very front and very back yet drops only to around knee length on either side. The asymmetrical look at the hem adds to that overall beautiful shape.

Pimp My Hunters Hunt aka PMHH: Soup Tee

I had to think of that crazy comedian/host that works with the show the Soup when I saw the designer's name on this set of sweater-like tees.

The Soup designed this treasure to be buried in the PMHH. The sweater tee is loose and hangs right at the waist. There are two interesting slits cut in the sleeves. It should be warm and sexy, and since it's part of a hunt coming in November, free-- and free is good!

Shelly's New Release: Corsets

Shelly's sent me something new to try and I don't believe I've blogged for this designer previously.

There are four colored corsets, peach is shown above, that are bright and lively hues. With it nearly Halloween and the color of 2012 all sorts of variations on orange, I chose the peach corset to style. It's a simple system garment that uses light and shadow to add depth. You can use corsets year round on their own or as a layered outfit. Find whatever suits you and enjoy.

Liv-Glam - Stella Shoes Label - New Shanti Boots

A new pair of boots comes from the Liv-Glam under the Stella label. These boots are diverse and so cozy and warm for fall.

Knee length boots are slouchy, showing light and shadow in a way that exaggerates the 3D effect of leather. With the HUD, you get to choose from 24 preset colors, which makes investing in these boots worth every Linden. As you know, Liv-Glam wants everyone to live glamorously, whether it's a trendy suit, a fancy gown or a casual Saturday afternoon look, and any of those would go well with these new boots.

New Releases from Bubblez Designs

These two designs couldn't be any more different from one another, and yet both are suited for autumn and very fashion forward.

Though this combination top and skirt is sleeveless and short, the colors are still perfect for this time of year, and in spite of the low dipping temperatures in the north this time of year, many places are still balmy and something cute like this little number would suit perfectly.

For something a bit more cozy, you can try the Shada Coat from Bubblez. This long sleeved, extra long coat certainly inspires warmth. It's cut in such a way that as you see in the photo, it can be worn without a top underneath. Or you could choose a favorite corset or tee and add another layer.

PondLife: A Weekly Report from Halloween Central

So, the good news is - I didn't have to get cooked or boiled or lose my head to do this week's review of items you can find at Halloween Central.

In the Lord of the Rings series, I learned that there were a special race of beings called Ents who closely resembled trees. Folklore all over the world and through the centuries have given 'voice' to the trees, and their ancient wisdom. When I saw this tree stump, I thought of those legends, and wondered if this is what one would look like after it had been cut for timber. I wouldn't want to get in his path!

Besides the tree with brilliant fiery eyes, there are other creatures you can purchase from PondLife to decorate your home or business. In the photo above, two of them are depicted. I was trying to blend in with the scenery, but I think I did not pass muster as I was far too thin to be one of these creepy Halloween guests.

The caption of this photo should be, "Model Zombie: Will do print or runway." The caveat would have to be, "Be careful she doesn't bite while you work with her."

Who were these people, and do we really want to know? They seem to all be grinning. Maybe they died with a secret we all wish we knew. Perhaps owning this sculpture of skulls will lend you their secret knowledge.

Whatever you do when you visit PondLife (IntimateLife), make time for a trip up to see all things Halloween.

Rockoil: Two New 'Dark' Releases and So Sexy

It's a fun time of year to play with bits and pieces I've collected over 8 years in Second Life. Some things, like psychedelic eyes made of 9 colors that look like glass, are impractical 99.7% of the time, but this month, they made a perfect pair of eyes for one of Rockoil's two designs I want to share.

This gown made the most wonderful dark and sexy combination for a not quite costume. I paired it with some fun accessories I have collected over time and really enjoyed Cult by Rockoil.

Again, I had finding pieces of paraphernalia in inventory to make this look work. The top and bottom are both system pieces but look three dimensional because of the clever use of light and shadow. The shoes came with this outfit. I added the mask and collar to complete my idea of another great Halloween costume.

New for 55L Thursday

Two fun dresses come to you for 55L this week, and both are new releases as well!

The Lynn Asymmetric Dress has a pattern of grey splotches over a dress that hangs beautifully in a draped manner that balances perfectly from one shoulder covered and the opposite knee covered (dress on left). The Sherrie Outfit mixes a mesh pencil skirt with a great use of sculpted prims and system layers to give a really dynamic overall sexy effect. Each dress has it's own personality and at this price, it's easy to want AND buy both!

Face Paint New for Halloween

It's already that time of year to choose spooky, or cute... which suits you at Halloween? This week, Face Paint released a fairy skin and make-up combo that in my opinion runs towards cute. You'd have to get very creative to make this scary... LOL

Here's a look at it up close and personal. The detail of the make-up against the pink skin really goes well, but you can also mix and match. Use the skin with other make-up or use the make-up with every day looks.

I had fun with this look. A little bit of this and that from my inventory and some beautiful jewelry and I am ready to Trick-or-Treat. I wonder what tricks I might have up my sleeve... oops no sleeves.

Victoria Endersleigh (VicE) at Midweek Madness

An array of dresses treats you to a sample of the skill and beauty that defines VicE designs this week for Midweek Madness.

Each have their own flair. The Lavender gown has multiple layers around the waist dropping to an asymmetric  hem line. The color looks like it should be a sherbet flavor, good enough to eat. The stole at the right shoulder adds pizzazz to this beautiful gown.

The second dress 'Black Roses' looks more like a top and skirt separate when first worn. I added a belt that covered the two or three inch band of skin that divided the top and skirt. Another flutter of material sways around with every step, but the lines of the skirt run from a very short left side to a tea length on the left.

The final dress offered felt lighter than a cloud. In pale ivory and whites, there was a regal quality. I could have worn a tiara and been Princess Kate? Again the designer made use of multiple lengths in the skirt to give it a beautiful billow effect for a walk on the promenade or dancing all night at the ball.
