Transparency and Deception - Featuring KL Couture, {{BSD Design Studio}} and Finesmith (a group gift)

It's interesting when a topic surfaces and suddenly several different people or sources talk about the same topic, but for totally different reasons. Recently, I had a discussion with someone I've known a very long time but don't know well, and the topic was truth and transparency vs. lies and deception.

This morning a topic was presented by a Pastor of a church that I enjoy watching on the net and the primary focus seems to be transparency vs. deception. People at all income strata and influence, race and gender join together to make this church, literally paying for it to exist.

When someone feels deceived, it lights a whole array of human emotion including anger. Fierce emotion leads to fierce discussion and at times, fierce action. It's like a snowball effect, and before anyone knows it, things really explode into a huge mess.

I prefer to be blunt. I hurt others' feelings at times when I take this path, but it also leaves nothing hidden, and hopefully an understanding that I'm laying everything out for others to see, and letting them make a decision about me, take me or leave me. I put a lot of effort into being genuine and believable.

I don't know how the church situation I mentioned will level out and people will find peace in that situation. I do know how much work it takes, on a constant basis, to make myself transparent and what you see is what you get. I also know I miss the mark sometimes. I'm human. I fail. I try again.

It's so much easier to do the work as you go than it ever will be to try to go back in time and fix something that broke as a result of deception. I hope the people from this church will find a way to heal the open wound. I also hope that after my most recent conversation regarding my own veracity, that situation closes with all involved finding balance and peace.
