My Last From PENUMBRA Lyrical Bizarre and Image Essentials; Also New >Asset< and {{BSD Design Studio}}

It's sad when an event comes to a close. I feel like I pour so much of me into each one, and then it just leaves forever. I have really enjoyed working with the designers who participated in the .PENUMBRA. Fashion Week S/S.
This is my last blog from PENUMBRA. I'm showing some pieces from Lyrical B!zarre Templates, the Diverge Mesh Skirt, and Image Essentials Props and Poses, from the Accessories set. I love their work all the time and the exclusives and uniqueness that they set aside for fashion week just made me love it all the more. I tucked a gorgeous corset from Carrie's Lingerie into the skirt to tweak a different look from the original, but that's part of the fun for me!
I'm also wearing new hair. I only agreed to blog for >Asset< as one hair company went out of business and another came on the grid and the friend passed on my name. I enjoy new businesses building a reputation and when they create quality work, it's even easier to hail their arrival and showcase their art. This newest hair from them, Hurricane, is my favorite so far of any that I've been asked to review.
The shoes at {{BSD BSD Design studio}} always have the personal touch from the shoe creator. Just like our world off line, new designers succeed at times because they're able to create a niche all their own with their own twist, their own passion, their own infusion of self into fashion. I think that's how Babycham PagneSass makes it work, time after time, including La Dolce Vita.

My deepest thanks to the designers who make my blog possible:

From PENUMBRA- [ZD], KL Couture, also new Moondance Boutique and EMO-tions

Another series of photos shows another complex array of pieces from designers involved in PENUMBRA Fashion Week as well as new releases from different locations.
You can see the unique horns and hair from EMO-tions. I went to a Fairy Fantasy Sim to take the photos. I used KL Couture's bangles from her new release for PENUMBRA, and the outfit is called Shine from [ZD], also at PENUMBRA. Moondance Boutique is also represented here as nail art.

From PENUMBRA - Vero Modero, Prism, B.I.P., Also New - Luas, ((Crystal Line)), EMO-tions, AsHmOoT, Face Paint

I'm either ahead of myself or behind, but don't know which. It's been one of those weird weeks where I haven't known what day it was, anytime I should have known and no clue of the passing of time, night or day.
I wanted to show as many of the items from PENUMBRA Fashion Week and also wanted to show you as much as I could from FASHIONART Faire. I have one day left and so do you for both events!
These are a collaboration of designers who are part of the PENUMBRA Fashion Week. Vero Modero has a great set with a Bolero Jacket, a corset and a balloon skirt. I decided to use the jacket for this style. B.I.P created a bikini and the top in all the bright colors seemed to work well. Prism created a top and skirt combination of which you see the skirt.
Other new items include Luas No More Tears Face Chain, one of EMO-tions new Windblown releases that come out this weekend, ((Crystal Line)) Ring and Bracelet, Face Paint, KaTink Poses and Backgrounds, And AsHmOoT has a pair of big bow heels that peek out from under the skirt.

Everything's Fine at FINESMITH -- Featuring Finesmith, Morphine and HOLY SHIrT from PENUMBRA and Kyxe Group Gifts

I don't know if you've noticed, but I have... FINESMITH jewelry has recently changed all their items to be F I N E S M I T H. I saw other companies do this to differentiate when an item was created, and later, when the creator has 9,258 pieces, she can at least look at her list and somewhat chronologically order them. I'm an organized person and have very good folders and subfolders and even more. I get the need to make things easier to find, and label. So some of the items I have to share today come from FINESMITH and other pieces from F I N E S M I T H; all of them are wonderful because Ms. Yula Finesmith continues to create stunning bits of wearable beauty. FINESMITH had new pieces, the Bouquet Face Piece and the Illustrated SLink Nail appliers (this weekend's 55L item). I also used Geula, a set released in the last 6 months from FINESMITH to accessorize the overall look.
About the turn of the year, from 2013 to 2014, I received a note from Ydreece Forrester from SL - Morphine saying that all things from her other brand were repackaged and this 2014 would be a year of expansion, beyond skins and makeup to include many other items of interest. I had chatted with her before my diagnosis with Cancer, and she knew much of my life was on hold. I pulled away from her business much like I did many of the other ones I worked for; only a few businesses refused to let me pull away ( Kyxe Skins & Shapes a perfect example of the exception ), and by the time I was more stable and back to blogging regularly, the Morphine business was rebranded and growing in leaps and bounds and I was pledged to Kyxe as an exclusive model wearing only Kyxe Skins. When I saw Morphine had several items set aside for PENUMBRA Fashion Week, I was thrilled. I put together my outfit using Nadine, the leather dress that is one of the items from them.
HOLY SHIrT has a set of items that are cute as a button, yet seemed to work with my dystopian styling in an odd way. The shoes look like a comic strip that's been draped over layer by layer to cover each heel (and there's a matching mini in the same style) and a pair of wool grey socks. I've never worn socks with my heels off line but I might if I had a look like this one to play with off line. Is it comfortable? I dunno!
I got a note to rush over to Kyxe 4Seasons to see what was newly added to the group gifts section. A pack of four different makeup pieces that work to spruce up your favorite skins were in one box and a suit was in the other box. I haven't tried on the skirt/suit yet, but I did put the Cranapple Lips and the Onyx Eyes on to show you what's out there and FREE. Free is good, right?

My great thanks extends to each designer who's made this style possible:

Sweet and So So Sexy Pink -- Featuring Zanze from PENUMBRA, {{BSD Design Studio}} and Face Paint

Hopping from one extreme to the next feels a little like riding a well timed ride at a theme park. There are calm parts that lull you into thinking things are safe and there are twists and turns and tunnels to lure you away from that fragile feeling of comfort. And it's FUN! We do it deliberately. The styles I've put together today made me feel a bit like that, and again, so much FUN!
This shear little mini comes from Zanze and a very dear friend Zzoie Zee. She's one of those dynamic forces in Second Life that seems to always be doing something, creative things, business things, building things. One thing that sets her apart from others who might be as busy...
She's never seemed cross or depressed or lost or moody and I've never once heard a single ounce of gossip about her or the places she's involved and invested herself. I consider her a treasure and when I get to wear something she's created, I consider that a treat.
I didn't over accessorize this design because of how it's originally designed. There's the pink sheer that makes it a very wicked evening club mini or a sexy bit of lingerie perfect to tempt that special someone. There are also ruffled pieces in several offsetting colors, metallic in nature. It's lovely in the soft femininity it represents and a part of PENUMBRA Fashion Week.

I'm thankful for each designer who made this blog possible:

Wedding and White Week at Carrie's -- And New From {{BSD Design Studio}}

This week is Wedding and White week at Carrie's Lingerie. This Evie in white is not one of the new ones she's released but it got me in the mood to go and shop and see what IS new.
I saw some of the most elaborate Carrie's creations yet while I was there today taking these photos. Many sets at Carrie's are either mini-skirt and/or lingerie, mix and match or they're full gowns of varying styles. Either way, one choices yields many options.
This little white confection had a bolero jacket, a full corset, two different skirts, stockings and the expected bra and panty that all matched. But oh my goodness, some of the new releases for Wedding and White Week have elaborate gown pieces in addition to the under layers of lingerie. You have to see it to believe it!
Additionally, the new Amulette heels in black and white work perfectly with the lingerie. I'm not quite sure why, but for eons, even the smallest number of clothing pieces would be paired with heels. It's even chic to wear heels, and only heels.  BSD Design studio has just the right pair for you, with or without clothing. Oh la!

I'm grateful to each designer represented in this blog and style:

Ask Alice -- Feautring Violator, JUMO from FASHIONART Faire, Face Paint, and no. 7

One pill makes you larger And one pill makes you small And the ones that mother gives you Don't do anything at all Go ask Alice When she’s ten feet tall.

And if you go chasing rabbits And you know you're going to fall Tell them a hookah smoking caterpillar has given you the call Call Alice When she was just small.

When the men on the chess board get up and tell you where to go And you just had some kind of mushroom And your mind is moving slow Go ask Alice I think she'll know.

When logic and proportion Have fallen sloppy dead And the white knight is talking backwards And the Red Queen's "Off with her head!" Remember what the dormouse said, "Feed your head."

I put together this wild styling with Violator by Soraya Vaher at the heart of the design. The new Light and Shadow Pretaporter has lines and curves that inspire almost a madness. For that reason, this old song by Jefferson Airplane came to mind. I began to put together pieces after that with chaos as the core aesthetic. Black lips from Jumo are a part of a set from FASHIONART Faire. Face Paint has a set called "Killer Liners" and I used one of those, apt to the overall feeling. And no. 7 had a series of masks out during a Gacha fair in recent past. The Dark Mask was one of the items from that series, and something I hadn't shown. You've seen EMO-tions Semiramis style before, on my blog and others' perhaps, but you've never seen it like this.

I find myself ever grateful for the support of designers like the following who make this blog possible:

Home On the Range -- Featuring B.BOS and [NV] from PENUMBRA, Truth, {{BSD}} Design Studio, and Face Paint

Many times in Second Life, I travel places and deliberately use the items, clothing, accessories, jewelry and poses designed for the men. Fewer things exist for men only and I imagine that's because there are far fewer of the male population in SL who care to be models and so demand is low for content creators. Those who do create the content for the male gender make great stuff, and sometimes it gives an edge to the female who might perch, because it's new, something no one has yet seen, and that continues to be one of the model's best tricks. See something first, find something new, designs, places, people, and figure out a way to compile it into a useful sales tool that basically sells the brand 'self' - in this case, the brand Caryn.
Tonight, I returned to Image Essentials Props and Poses property and used the Male prop studio. (The women's studio was in use and I knew I could find something as backdrop for the casual outfit I'd just styled.) The studios are great, as are the many photo op locations around the sim for photographers. Every so often new things are rotated in and older things removed. This 'Cowboy' studio set was new to me. It had poses collected by Kay Weston then creatively applied to the build. One sitting on the fence and one leaning against the fence were created by PNP while the one of me laying in the meadow came from Mystical Lane.
My outfit consists again of items from PENUMBRA Fashion week. I love how the virtual world emulates the physical one, and things like fashion weeks around the world happen in both worlds I love. B.BOS created the Maddy Tartan Pant and [NV] designed the Weiss top. I paired new items from other parts of the grid with these two PENUMBRA creations. {{BSD Design Studio}} continues to make me oooh and aaahh with pleasure because I'm such a shoes and boots fanatic! This pair of grey Supermodel Anniversary Limited heels show just one example of why her designs make me smile! Truth Hair and I have been around about the same length of time in Second Life. I just celebrated my 9th rez day a few weeks ago, and I can remember when only a few designers made hair or shoes or jewelry and I can also remember how vitally different those items then and the counterparts now really were. A very good friend, someone who simply wanted to encourage my modeling dreams gifted me a card for Truth hair so I've been blessed with several new styles and this one is the most recent. I think I like this one because of the unusual name Chilali and how fun and flirtatious it felt; it's perfect for spring.
Eve Express was one of my first mentors as I began the journey that brought me to this point in my life, blogging passionately, styling passionately, and passionately interacting in other ways with the fashion community. She took a hiatus, which disappointed so many customers, but each and everyone of them understood that she needed a break, and supported her needs. They just missed her makeup styles. Now she's back, collecting a few 'testers' for her group that try on new looks before she boxes them up and puts them on the sales floor. The new Face Paint will remind you of the old, with all the details very similar, only newer makeup, fresh for 2014 now tempts you. I'm grateful for all the people who paused in their world to help educate and encourage me in my world, and one of those people - Eve. Drop by, see the new products, offer your testing skills, and if you've never met her, nows a great time to get to know her!

None of this that I do would be possible without the support of these designers. Thank you!

Get It While the Gettin's Good -- Featuring !Prism from PENUMBRA and Asteria Creations and HOLLYHOOD from FASHIONART Faire

Let's go for a walk. It's a pretty day and the ocean breeze is blowing. Whisps of wind tickle the tangled weeds by seaside and the song of the sirens' call cries out over all. Alone for a moment, lost in time, she looks around, and on all sides, she sees nothing but beauty. Is this paradise?
I visited http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Braveheart%20Isle/196/31/24 Poppy's Paradise to take these photos and truly, it was breathtaking in every direction and this is just one spot in the midst of the whole. I'm sure there's much much more to see.
I have a new top on from Prism Designs SL, a sweater called Marilyn in Herringbone Bamboo that is part of the items shown in PENUMBRA's Fashion week this week. The Asteria Creations Hans Mesh Pants and Tangerine Vida Heels from HOLLYHOOD both come from FASHIONART Faire. Both events end at the end of May so if you like what you see, get it while the gettin's good.

I would not be able to blog without the sponsors, the terrific designers who make each style possible:

What's Black and White and Red All Over? Featuring Dead Dollz from PENUMBRA, Kyxe at OMG Room, ((Crystal Line)), Violator, and Moondance

The dress... unique.

The hat and necklace... unique.

Dead Dollz has this 1985 dress at PENUMBRA Fashion Week, along with some other awesome items.
Violator created the Dark Note hat and choker, and to me, it looks like it's made of the blackest night's barbed wire. Jewelry with a twist and I love it.
Luscious lips are new at Kyxe Skins & Shapes and the brilliant red color truly pops on an otherwise black and white styling. You can find the new lips at the OMG Room, and a great price too.
New Addiction nails from Moondance Boutique were tintable but they began black and white, and perfect to go with the dress.

I found a new set from ((Crystal Line)), called the Mabe Pearl set and used the bracelet, then pulled another basic black and white bracelet from my ((Crystal Line)) collection, called Twist Change and it felt like it fit with the spirit of that wild choker and hat, and the colors worked too.

Without the designers shared here, this blog and style would not have been possible. Thank you!

CRYYYYY - Featuring Sakura and Kaithleen's from FASHIONART Faire, EMO-tions and [[j'adore]]

I met Kaithleen when I was maybe a 10 day old model. I remember she had created a mesh item that was see through, enough that I could see my nipples and I was really anxious about this because I wasn't sure how edgy fashion in SL would let me get, and how to draw that line. I think I understand that line a little more now than I did back then, and I've seen a lot of Kaithleen's art since then as well.
Today, the pantsuit from FASHIONART Faire (still in progress til 31 May) comes from Kaithleen's and it gave me an overall vibe of playful casual. If there were summer snowballs, I'd make them and throw them wearing something like this. How's that for imagination!? Sakura has an entire outfit called Baby Pink also found at FASHIONART Faire, and it includes these precious low heeled pink Mary Janes.
The jewelry from EMO-tions has a number of pieces all from the DRAGONHEART series. I used a few of them, and repurposed one of the rings so the broach at my throat had a little more unique detail. The last new thing to share with you comes from [[j'adore]], a pose store I've only become familiar with recently as they participated in one of the events I worked, and I decided to go by the store and see what I could see. How could I turn down a group gift with 5 different 'couples' pose sets? Even though I don't have a special someone (CRYYYYYYY) to use the pose sets with, I did use a pose from each set so I could show you a little bit more of [[j'adore]].

Without these great designers, I would not be able to do what I love:

A Wow Moment! -- Featuring Nya's Closet from PENUMBRA Fashion Week, Violator, Lybra, EMO-tions, Face Paint and :::LB:::

Motivation comes from many places. We're all individuals, and what we bring to the table means something different and hopefully the conglomeration we present is greater than the sum of our parts. I often hear things in my head that different leaders, mentors and friends in the 'biz' have suggested while I'm working on blog photos. And I LOVE it.
One person who's made a lasting impression in my exploration of fashion (and I can't believe I just used the word biz in little quote markers!!) is Wicca from Wicca's Wardrobe. I knew her before my big venture into the fashion world and thought she was a remarkable, fun and brilliant woman. I ran into her again when I took classes at MVWMA. She was my educator for two of the classes. I also attended at least two lectures she offered.
Wicca is a Wow moment, in progress, almost all of the time. https://www.flickr.com/photos/wiccamerlin/ shows you Wicca in motion, with so many different sponsors, so many different clothing styles and yet everything exudes the essence of Wicca. I want to find that essence of Caryn. I'm getting there. I know I am because I feel it more each time I style, each time I put the puzzle together, and each time I share with my world here in Facebook and my blog. I just sense it. I knew I needed to find it because there are others who so obviously have theirs. Wicca is sooo Wicca. Strawberry Singh is sooo Strawberry. Cao is sooo mooooo.
I paired a whole array of fun items for this look and then I used Wicca's poses. She was in my head the whole time I played. You see new hair from EMO-tions, the new Antoinette - let them eat cake?! yipes. Violator has an incredible array of jewelry pieces in the set called Water Lilly, so I pulled a few from the set, then repurposed one or two. PENUMBRA Fashion Week is in full swing and the Alice outfit I have on is from Nya's Closet. Lybra has a new Marketplace link with a very special deal on the Alice bag seen in the photos (https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/132834). Face Paint wants to warm you up for summer with the new "Warmth" release. And though they've been in inventory a while, me procrastinating the actual buying of Slink feet, they're on my blog for the first time, and I think they're cool. I wish I could buy them in my world off line. The Cage Sandals from :::LB::: along with a few favorite items round out the style I put together today.

These great designers are the only reason I'm able to do what I love passionately and to them, I'm so thankful!

Undeniably Unique -- Featuring !Lyrical B!zarre from The Couturier's Docks, HOLLYHOOD from FASHIONART Faire, and Silken Moon

This design became my favorite ever outfit I put together using pieces from different designers. Originally, I had the Ego Mesh Dress from Lyrical B!zarre Templates, and I know many times when I blog, designers want me to show you what they designed, but there are some who tolerate or even encourage the chance to do other things with the designs.
I took the headpiece and hood from the !Lyrica set, and a chest piece. I paired with a new Corset Belt Lace from Malicia Python - Silken Moon. The poof skirt that adored the ankles of the original gown repurposed to a new midlength skirt, attached to the upper legs so the flutter is sexy and moves naturally with each step.
To accessorize, I wanted to put a simple pair of shoes, and lately I have fallen in LOVE with SLink feet and shoes and hands. It took me a while to get on board, but now that I am, I'm loving every minute of making the SLink fit into my puzzles. And with a Black Ice Set I bought from Chop Zuey, I created an Avant Garde look that I could use on Chop Zuey model stands and share all of this with you, on my blog and on a model stand at Chop Zuey. What a treat!

I'm grateful to each designer represented on this blog. Without them, I would not have the privilege of doing this:

Come *Sky* With Me -- Featuring Lybra from Couturier's Docks, 1 Hundred from Designer Showcase, Sky from FASHIONART Faire, and [Liv-Glam]

This collection of items really made me smile as I dug around in my bag to make pieces mix and match and use things from a whole array of people to make it work. Sometimes it's just like an 'AHA!!' moment, and that's how this outfit feels. Sky Summerwind's New Tapestry Overalls are an exclusive item for FASHIONART Faire. The Bianca jewelry from Libra as well as the clutch are new from The Couturier's Docks and as I looked closer at the pieces, I could see a faint echo of the print on Sky's coveralls. I pulled a cute one piece lingerie bodice from 1 Hundred's items at Designer Showcase. Decorative Fancy Heels for SLink feet (high) from [Liv-Glam] could also be interpreted as very close to the prints and color scheme. You have options with [Liv-Glam] Fancy Heels not shown because there are color change options on the HUD.
Sky's store grows every time I drop by and I'm always smiling to see it. Her passion related to the store, artistic creation and branding and marketing match the zeal of other successful movers and shakers in Second Life. She just needs to put in time, let others get to know her, and in my opinion, she's doing that very well. She creates items for a number of events, and keeps her main store stocked well. She offers sale items, and even participates in a Free club where every so often, she shares a brand new item, absolutely free. It's fun to see the absolute delight of someone realizing their dreams, in progress. I took these photos on her sim so I could show and tell you just a little bit more about her.

I'm grateful for each designer represented in this blog:

It Started With a Pair Of Glasses from [AD] -- Featuring [AD] and Swallow from Couturier's Docks, HOLLYHOOD from FASHIONART Faire, and [Liv-Glam]

A very unique pair of glasses from [AD] motivated me to this style. I had to find pieces that would work with the glasses and not cover them up. They actually have the standard bar that wraps around the ear but then they have those interesting wings that made me think of a librarian meet goth chic style. In our world, anything goes, yes? Liv-Glam creates textures continually that make the mesh 'anything' look perfect for the cut, the style, and the use for such a dress or pant suit or whatever comes next. This knee length sleeveless summer dress captivates with large print with primary pattern pieces on a color HUD so you have several outfits in one.
I look at designers' blogs when I style for them the first few times, and because I got to work alongside the creators at Liv-Glam early on in my experience as a blogger model, I got to see how they viewed the finished product. Unique pieces of jewelry, glasses, and bags are often in their photos. I tried to go with their overall aesthetic. Swallow Skin and Accessory Second Life has new jewelry at The Couturier's Docks this month, and I wanted to use several of the pieces with this. If you hurry over to the docks, you'll see the many other little Safari items included in the box, and hopefully find yourself inspired to find your inner rawr! I took one of the earrings and pinned it to the glasses to pull the items together, but wearing together or separately, they're deliciously different bits of art.
Normally, after I've posted one item from an event, I move on to other items. There could be 5 or 8 dresses and gowns, but only 1 shoe designer presented, or only one jewelry designer participating, and the same can happen with pose creators. Rather than go to items I've already used, I'll focus on those 5 or 8 dresses at different times during the event's duration, and I'll pull one pair of shoes from the shoe designer for one gown and later, another pair of shoes from them also. HOLLYHOOD has shoes and clothing at FASHIONART Faire, and all of it is fantastic. The shoes seen here are Twisted SLink applier heels. I loved the tan stitching across the black leather.
Different times I'm motivated by different things, which makes sense I imagine, as artists would say the same, painting, writing, drawing, pixels, whatever their medium. I photographed the glasses, dress and jewelry three different times with different combinations of accessories until I found the pictures that suited me and felt like they were right for the outfit. I've thrown items in from all over the grid, so you need to put on your best shopping shoes and have fun!

I'm thankful to each designer who contributed to make this style possible:

Dream Big -- Featuring *LI* Living Imagination from Couturier's Docks and EMO-tions at My Attic

Wearing a dream sometimes allows us to live in that dream, even if it is only for a moment. Things have been so emotional and crazy and unpredictable for a long time in my world. When I find little things in this shared virtual world that pump a little positive energy into my life, there's a sort of magic that happens. I don't know how or why, but I'm grateful for it.
The gown here, from *LI* Living Imagination at this month's Couturier's Docks, represents one of those dream moments that I think about from time to time, day dreams, night dreams, the concept of being a belle at a ball, of being healthy and dancing all night. Sometimes I deliberately wear no shoes under the gown, and in this case, that's true, so that I can imagine dancing longer without my feet getting sore from the heels. It's a secret we girls pass on from generation to generation.
I often think of other centuries, time periods that I could have lived, and as a historian passionate about all things from all worlds past and present, sometimes dreams take me there as well. The Pria hair style from EMO-tions at My Attic worked to help weave the mesmerizing possibility of existing in a culture different from my own, a time long ago. But even as I visit yesteryear in my dreams, I dream of moments now, today, tomorrow, sometime soon, where I can dance the night away with someone special.

Many thanks to each designer who made this blog possible:

A Sparkling Sky, A Sparkling Heart -- Feauturing Haute from FASHIONART Faire and ((Crystal Line))

There are some truly gorgeous places in Second Life and most of them appear empty. This is good for a fashion photographer, for great landscapes and backgrounds naturally offering artistry. It's a bit sad to me, however, because every empty sim reminds me that there were once creative people invested there and for whatever reason, they go.
I love the fact that new people are dreaming new dreams. I cheer on success stories, whether it's a new dance hall, a place for people to meet or a gorgeous build that's designed for the most beautiful fashion show. I know that we're all constantly evolving, and in this moment, the people we're touching are meant to be, and in the grand scheme of life, those moments are priceless.
I don't know when the last day of any part of my life will end and a new one begins. I hope that as I evolve and invest in new ideas and meet new friends I find a way to retain the past and the good that's occurred. Maybe the transition from present to past must leave empty cities and unused clubs and other spaces that were beautiful once.
I want to show you this gown, the Haute Starry Sky Dress, another beautiful item from FASHIONART Faire. I thought the sim and location I found for the photos really enunciated the dress designer's theme well. I found an unopened surprise in my inbox, from ((Crystal Line)), the Sweet Bracelet and Ring set. It's always a treat to discover something I have not yet blogged. I combined these new items with favorite pieces from EMO-tions, Baboom Couture and Kyxe Skins & Shapes.
