Honesty With Sabra Style, Honestly! Also BOABA

A monochromatic layout for someone who's anything but... Kylie Sabra and Sabra Style - Second Life Fashion have a beautiful vantage point and in that sense of beauty creations she makes always make me feel elegant, refined and something better than myself. When someone can do that, it makes the thing they do that much more special. It's difficult to put into words. Maybe it could happen in the world off line if I got to meet Michael Kors or Vera Wang and then had an item from their collection and got to wear it and then got to talk about it, blog it, tweet it, and every other way to shout out to the world, this thing I got to do was radical fun and this person I met made it better than fun! That's not likely to happen in my world off line but I'm blessed beyond words that it does happen to me in my Second Life.

That girl right there, the amazing one who works on so many projects in Second Life that have meaning, who creates clothing, who pauses to say hi, how are you feeling, in the throng of her busy crazy day, that's one of those girls I adore and thrill at sharing her wares. Honesty in Gold. Honesty is such an intense name for a dress, but in this case, it's perfect. I paired with a hat that BAOBA shared with me some recent weeks ago called Delicacy Yellow and finally found a time I could wear October's 4Seasons metallic Copper Lips.

One On One Tutelage & Modeling Academy Merges With Miss SL Organization - Miss SL Academy

Perhaps you've been thinking about the new year, wanting to try something new, to challenge yourself, to change gears, or however people put it when they're ready for change. You may have heard of models and modeling from a friend or happened to notice a kiosk at a favorite designer's store and wondered if you should try it.

I speak from personal experience as I say that this little thing that ca
ught your eye, it really isn't little, it isn't easy, and it isn't something to do on a lark, but should be something you're passionately curious about, ready to be invested in, and determined to succeed. Only then can you make it work.

People from all corners of our real world globe have invested time and money into the fashion industry in Second Life and that includes models. Some people exceed their wildest dreams and others walk away from it after only a few short weeks, overwhelmed by the things they didn't know they would face. It takes a thick skin and a determination like nothing you might imagine.

It takes shear desire to make it work in a community where there are already fashion icons, faces of this and that who've been around for eons, who already earned respect and hold prominent positions in any number of fashion related businesses. You have to want to be the best. You have to set that as your #1 goal and stretch as far as your mind and body let you stretch and then give some more.

If you put all of these elements together, then you have the potential to become all those things you dream of becoming.

One important thing you have to decide early on relates to the schooling required by most in the fashion business in SL. But how do you decide where to go to school? How many academies have real value? Who's earned their reputation over months and years, and honed their curriculum to contain core values needed to make this modeling thing work? It's the first challenge among many, and the first of many very important choices you will make.

If you choose the wrong academy, you might find yourself in a small group that's approaching the concept of teaching in a hodge podge whatever strikes you today to talk about, and tomorrow a whole new subject comes up, and you get lost immediately and think, "Why did I spend money to do this??"

But if you choose the right academy, you'll find yourself in the midst of a group that's broad and deep with talent, with experience, with scope of understanding and has more than just a basic message to offer you. A great academy offers you a new version of your Second Life and it begins with attendance and graduation from that academy, and then grows from there.

When I searched for an Academy some few years ago, I looked at information on an array of different businesses, interviewed the owners in some cases, asked questions, and looked to the models who'd already been modeling for some time for their opinions on where they went, what they'd learned, what they found most helpful and so forth, and time and time again, names like Frolic Mills ( Juan Delgado ), Barbie Bravin, Ponchituti Boucher ( Maria Eugenia Rodriguez) and others were mentioned as leaders on the cutting edge of everything fashion in Second Life.

Today, a group of those same people have banded together to introduce another program that's been put together with the biggest names in Second Life fashion, people who've earned their stripes, earned their respect, and put time and energy into everything related to fashion. ONE on ONE Modeling Tutelage & Academy merged with Miss SL Organization today to form Miss SL Academy.

Tried and true representatives from every facet of the fashion business in Second Life work together and a certificate from Miss SL Academy will open doors to opportunities and connect you to people you should meet, get to know, and from them learn how to take your creative and beautiful self and morph it into a creative and beautiful model.

Regardless your reasons, if becoming a model makes you curious or tweaks a sense of adventure, I recommend you do your home work, exactly as I did. You will find the very best of Second Life fashion taught in Miss SL Academy. Curriculum comes directly from a source of tried and true class structure, with permission to be used by the man who created it, Frolic Mills, and has been amped up to include new topics that enhance your new life as a model.

Get information about Miss SL Academy today! Hang on to your hats; it's going to be a wild ride!

A Little Bit Of Me In This Outfit -- Loovus Dzevavor from Sneak Peek and Gift From EMO-tions

Pinned and tweeted, Flickr'd and Blogged.. my social media deluge today brings a new Delta Jacket and Skirt Combo from Loovus Dzevavor to light in as many ways as my little virtual fingers can reach out and touch the world today. I also had new hair from the group gifts section at EMO-tions, this style called Tori.
I continue to thank those who are abundantly generous because you are the reason that day to day, week to week, I'm able to put together items that will hopefully entice new guests to come and try YOUR brand, your art, your aesthetic, and I love being part of that, like a cog in the wheel of progress. On a personal note, I've had a flu, virus, yuck, whatever thing, and apologize for being less than present. I think yesterday's bolus antibiotic shot, those things hurt, really, they do, even on adults! so next time a nurse tells you, "Just a little pinch." Ah... nevahmind. You'll have to experience the fun yourself to really get it.
I do believe I'm going to be more myself over the next days. I'm not ready to go to my next rodeo, but I'm doing alright. I don't know where my father in law got that question, but he asks it all the time. "Ready for your next rodeo then?" Like I'm on the mend and ready for a bull or wild horse to buck me around for a bit? I don't know! So no wild horse rides, but I am mending and will see you all soon. <3

Urban and Chic - Wicca's Wardrobe at Rue a la Page, Chop Zuey (recent gifts), EMO-tions (group gift)

As for work, I'm having a tough week physically, so I popped in yesterday to style my latest outfit and popped back out again soon after... this one comes with primary inspiration - Wicca's Wardrobe. The "Captured" top and the "Inara" wonderboots that I may never ever ever take off again... I call them wonderboots. That wasn't an official name or anything. I just think they rock amazzzzingly. You can find them at Rue A La Page.

Chop Zuey Eternity In Purple comes from the massive release of gifts she shared during the holidays and adds a bright pop to the look. And new hair, also a gift, from EMO-tions, called Faith worked well with this fiercely urban chic look.

Lybra Is Something Stunning, Something Fun, Always Something Classy -- Lybra and /Wasabi Pills/

Some designers have a flourish that's as lovely and unique as someone's signature might be or an artist's point of view. One of many reasons I love working with Lybra, Mr. Jason and Ms. Natzuka, along with the stunning skin and management of Ms. Jamee, could be summed up with the single word - Class.
It's resonant in each design created by them and for Lybra, it's in each event they organize, it's in each place you find Lybra fashions, like the Couturier's Docks. Beyond being excellent clothes that make the customer look stunning, they're excellent people who reach out and infuse their energy into our Second Life and we're better for it. I loved this gown, Fauna. It's not brand new to their collection but it spoke to me one day while I was wandering about the store, soaking up the vibe, learning the layout (it's been under construction and there's more new items daily!!), and I decided it would be my next Lybra item to style for them and for each of you.
I paired with a new hairstyle from /Wasabi Pills/ a long haired mesh that lay perfectly against the skin. You may not know, but Lybra offers items for men and women, dressy fancy clothing, chic minis that are a bit more casual than the long gowns, hair, jewelry, poses and so much more. If you haven't been or haven't been back in a while, begin your January getting to know Lybra. You'll enjoy every minute.

Something Different This Way Comes -- Jinx from Winter Market and Zibska from Sneak Peek

I took a cocktail dress from Zibska and modified to some degree so that instead of having a jacket with fringe over the dress, I had earmuffs for warmth.
I paired with a pair of jeans and boots from Jinx and created an entirely different look than either designer had originally shared in their original vendor photo for these monthly events (Zibska at Sneak Peek and Jinx at the Winter Event). Being able to shrink or enlarge, or able to adjust the texture just slightly can make it fun to see one thing and turn it into something very different. It's part of the fun of playing barbie dolls.
One of the things I think we all seek is our individuality. I hope you enjoy this look of the day as much as I did putting it together to show you! Thanks for your ongoing support. It means so much to me!
