Weekend News from Snowpaws (6/22/2012)

This week, Snowpaws brings you one of my new favorites, the Enca Lace Day Dress.

A beautiful mesh pencil skirt with lace edging makes up the bottom half of this dress that is perfect for all your SL-outings. Up top, more mesh pieces are an option, at the bodice with ruffles, and more lace ruffles on each shoulder plus a pretty floral accent at the throat add that perfect 3d element.

If you want to dial down the pizzazz, you can remove the mesh extras. You still get the details that make this dress and all of Snowpaws clothing excellent.

A rich blue matches the sea or sky, and gives an air of royal dazzle. And YOU will dazzle your friends and loved ones when you're out in Enca, available in the color seen above - Evening, Night, Coco and Raspberry.

Liv Glam New Releases (6/22/2012)

First, I want to share that it's a tremendous gift when a designer chooses to add me to their blogging team. I consider carefully, then make a decision. Once I have, I pour everything I have into each outfit or item a designer shares with me. Liv Glam and SamanthaSJones, thank you!

What a day it was to begin with Liv Glam as  well. I received this pair of pants, Patiala's and had to look up the word. I love the cultural diversity of Second Life and learning new things regularly.

These pants reminded me of the beautiful Jeanie on the television show of the 60s and 70s in the US - I dream of Jeanie - and sure enough the origin of the word Patiala comes from the same part of the world as the story of the genies that inhabit lamps and grant us wishes.

Liv Glam grants the wish that mesh would fit well, be stylish, fun and flirty, and oh so easy to wear. And then they grant the wish that you could tint the mesh so that you didn't have to buy 3 or 6 copies of something in order to have more than one color. And for the third wish, this pair of pants comes at a price that makes it a dream of a purchase!

After finding all of my wishes came true with the first treat of the day, I opened the next and was delighted to find the most elegant of business suits.

One thing that may seem odd, considering how hard we work in our world off line to get rid of them, is how much I find that I like wrinkles! In the photo above, with the monochrome green suit, and then again in the photo below with the two tones chosen, you can distinctly see the wrinkles. These details give that third dimension that comes with more skill and patience in the design process, something that Liv Glam adds very well. It makes the suit feel and look more believable.

With the color HUD, again I was not limited to one color choice with this wonderful suit. I played with the HUD for a few minutes and realized that if I took the jacket layer off and used the HUD to tint the skirt, and then reversed so the skirt layer was off and the jacket layer was tinted, when I wore them together, I would have two tones for my suit, and could add even more diversity to the choice that this beautiful suit presents.

There are many designers who have begun to work with mesh. I find that Liv Glam works with mesh easily. Every piece fits well, is rigged well, is textured extremely well, and makes me a believer in mesh and all the possibilities on the horizon with relationship to this new addition to our Second Life.

Grace Kelly III by Liv Glam

Though I've received multiple notices with information from Liv Glam, it's been a very long time since I went to shop at their store.

Wow, was i surprised and impressed!

This dress has to be one of the most practical investments I've ever made in Second Life. With the ability to change this dress to a dozen or so styles and colors, I could wear it for almost two weeks and never need to change.

Thanks for the clever texturing of this mesh dress! I can use it almost anywhere in Second Life. And trust me, I will!

A Blessing... Charltina's and Charltina Christensen

Now and then, something really remarkable occurs while I'm investing time and energy into Second Life and yesterday was one of those memorable days because I met one of those memorable people.

I have met thousands of people in the 14 years I've been on the net. It's one of the gifts of being in an international world. 8 1/2 years ago when I discovered Second Life, I found myself thrilled with the depth and breadth such a virtual world added to what was already important to me, those special net connections with people, people from every nook of our wide world, from every background, every faith and race and creed. This thrilled me then and to this day, it still thrills me.

And then I meet someone like Charltina Christensen, and I feel like for a moment, I've touched a source of light, of energy, of something special and positive, and I find myself truly blessed.

When I spoke to her, I felt a kinship of spirit and life experience that reached beyond the Second Life we share here. I spoke only a few moments with her, yet through the rest of the evening, I had a bit more bounce in my step and warmth in my life. That's a rare and true gem of an encounter.

Normally, I find something from a new designer or newly discovered, and go to my studio to shoot the photographs I post in this blog. Not this time, however, as I wanted somehow to capture the essence of this unique business woman.

Wearing Sparkle in Her Eyes, I stood near an entrance to her store, and deliberately in front of the green-eyed representation of herself to frame the new dress, but also to capture so much more.

This pretty mini-dress with ruffled pleats around the bodice and hips alike seems to embody exactly the feeling I attempt to convey even as I write these words. The smile to my right, the warmth in those eyes, the detail in the design, all work together richly.

I perused her store, a delightful array of gowns and skirts and casual clothing, and inhaled the elements that she's chosen to make her own in this little corner of SL and enjoyed myself immensely.

I sense that this engagement, this chance to meet someone knew, try a new designer, and for a moment become a part of this designer's world and endeavors was just a bit more... than normal. And I loved it.

Rosengarten Loves Hunts...

After being blessed by Allie Munro and the chance to blog for BBH2's hunt, I was introduced to a whole array of designers and items in SL that I didn't know existed!

One of those companies owned by Lilian Laville - Rosengarten - does sweet, sexy or downright hot hot hot poses and static displays for your special SL moments as well as items that range in variety to create the most beautiful and elegant and sensual locations for your SL-life. Visit the gardens and skybox and see all there is to see today.

And she has given me a great reason to ask one of my dear male friends to be a victim... well maybe he didn't feel too victimized... and help with all the pair poses in this series of photos.

What man doesn't dream of whisking a girl off in his clutches, captive, at his whim and mercy? Maybe not every man, but in case you've thought about it, this artistic display with the angel and demon offers two poses to play, first he captures you...

Then snags you close for a kiss that makes you his for all of eternity? At least that's what I saw when I saw this pair of poses. I don't think the man involved was complaining too much about either the capture or the claiming kiss!

Whatever the pleasure, capture or kiss, this hidden item is perfectly attuned to the theme of the Angel Meets Devil Hunt!

I can't tell if this is any more tame or not. Welcome to the dark world of passion and pleasure, and the fiery flames of Hell itself. A sphere of burning fire surrounds the pose, and the masculine arms ensnare his captive, kissing again in that oh so demanding way.

Again, it's aptly placed in the Hot as Hell Hunt. Summer hot? Sexy hot? I don't know. It's just hot hot hot!

And only now that I really have your attention do I show you the delicate loving side of Rosengarten's hunt offerings. For the Hunt - Now That You're Mine - You can bask under an arch of the prettiest pink roses, in the arms of someone very special, and you're sure to get a great snapshot, or you could even use this pose for a special occasion, like a wedding, or some other public display of affection. Yes yes! I'm a hopeful romantic.

Continuing with the hopeful romanticism, I stood in a field of bright pink flowers, tipped up my chin, and he kissed me. Oh how the summer brings out the lover in all of us. Down by the sea, he kissed me.

The Summer Love Hunt makes me think of the song in the musical Greece. Life is simpler in the summer time, isn't it? At least if we pause, soak up the sun and share it with someone special!

Thank you Lilian for all these treats to enjoy and a reason to rope in the handsome guest! I look forward to seeing more of what you offer in the near future.
