Til The Season Comes `Round Again

I try not to mix business with creed, and deliberately so, to recognize that my point of view is not the only point of view out there, and if I have the right to believe what I will, then I should in good conscience, give you the same right. Those who know me personally know my personal point of view. Those who do not know I'm Caryn, or Karen, a lady who loves what she does in Second Life, a lady who enjoys making new friends, and a lady who's tried a bit of everything from March of 2005, in my first incarnation of Caryn to the present. This song and its lyrics touch my spirit, and tend to speak in the general way I'd want to reach out around the world and wish you all something special, real, and meaningful for this moment and always.

Songwriters: JARVIS, JOHN BARLOW / GOODRUM, RANDY

Come and gather around at the table
In the spirit of family and friends
And we'll all join hands and remember this moment
'Til the season comes 'round again

Let's all try to smile for the picture
And we'll hold it as long as we can
May it carry us through
Should we ever get lonely
'Til the season comes 'round again

CHORUS
One night holy and bright
Shining with love from our hearts
By a warm fire,
Let's lift our heads high
And be thankful we're here
'Til this time next year

May the new year be blessed
With good tidings
'Til the next time I see you again
If we must say goodbye
Let the spirit go with you
'Til the season comes 'round again

CHORUS

May the new year be blessed with good tidings
'Til the next time I see you again
If we must say goodbye
Let the spirit go with you
And we'll love and we'll laugh
In the time that we had
'Til the season comes 'round again

Spread the Word: Stop the Violence Against Women

I rarely use this blog for anything other than Second Life news and fashion, but every so often something of vital importance pierces my heart and if my one voice makes a small difference, then that's a difference I want to make.

Today, November 25, is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

“In every country, women and girls suffer from widespread and multiple forms of violence. It takes place in the home, on the streets, in schools, the workplace, during conflict and in time of peace. It manifests itself in its most prevalent forms of domestic and sexual violence. But it also takes the forms of female infanticide in the preference for boys, child marriage, female genital mutilation, “honour” killings and other forms of feminicide.
This violence prevents women and girls around the world to live in dignity, violates their fundamental human rights and impedes them from achieving their full potential. It is one of the most potent obstacles to the advancement of women, has social and economic costs and seriously jeopardizes the progress and prosperity of the world.”
