One Day... Featuring .::Dead Dollz::., ~ghee and .:JUMO:. from .PENUMBRA. Fashion Week, KaTink Poses and no. 7

**Warning: One of my crazy long winded notes!

Some day, I want to grow up and be my avatar self. I would go to all the fabulous parties, never wearing the same attire twice. I would borrow jewelry from Tiffany's and have body guards to protect me from being mauled because I had on 3.2 million dollars worth of diamonds. I would have automatic everything. Maybe even an automatic 'mom response' to some of the incessant questions that do NOT stop when the child you once knew becomes a tall, grown... well... child. I'd have the fancy house down by the water that's on Cao's blog today. (I rarely reblog because we're all inundated with loads of data here and there, but well, I want her fancy house and it plays perfectly into my fantasy!) -- http://anchailinalainn.com/2014/09/19/bricks-and-mortar/ I'd have parties every night, music with live musicians to play it, food catered from only the best places, and some sort of amazing medication like the ultra-sexy Bradley Cooper takes in the movie Limitless and... if you haven't seen Limitless, put it on your weekend to rent at Redbox or wherever in your world you grab the movie and popcorn. You won't regret it. And you'll understand why I would need such a drug. With great parties come great people, great dancing, and I've heard it said, though I'm not sure if it's rumor or truth, great parties often lead to great sex. SEE WHY I want to grow up to be me?
For now, I will stick to pretending, to playing Barbie and to appreciating the expanse of designers who help create the imagery of my fantasy world. This time, I have on a new gown from .::Dead Dollz::. and I'm not sure, but I think it's the first time it's ever appeared on my blog. The mini-collection I got to see as part of .PENUMBRA. Fashion Week piqued my interest immediately when I saw the names of the items. The box was called Heisenberg and the gown I chose to share is Gray Matter. If you're fans of the hit series Breaking Bad (alas, it finished it's last season in 2013 ack!), the names would amuse and entertain. If you're really die hard Trivia nuts and Breaking Bad is your thing, you'd really enjoy the names of the items produced for this week!

People want bloggers to work with their items, and of course that's what we do and why we're there. In such a massive project like .PENUMBRA. countless designers have added their flair. Many many gowns, a few cocktail/clubbing dresses, a random rare pant suit or jeans set, and then accessories after that. Unfortunately, there are only so many gowns that could be styled in a period of two weeks. However, I know countless bloggers who are trying to do as much as they can and so am I. I'm grateful when I open a box that has jewelry, hair, heels, or other trinkets that add to the ability to puzzle the pieces together in such a way that each outfit is a mix and match of those event(s) that are in progress. I share this because I hope it helps encourage designers to mix it up a little. If I have a box with 4 pair of heels from one designer, and no one else sends heels out, then I will have 4 blogs with the same designer illustrated because they came from that event. But for the designer who sends 4 gowns, I pick the one I think best suits my tastes, and go from there.

And I shared all that to say that this .PENUMBRA. Fashion Week had .:JUMO:. as one of the contributing designers and the array of items submitted to work with from there allowed for multiple pieces to be used. I try to share the love. That's a good way to put it I think and one other bloggers use as well. I don't want to be an Events blogger who ends up only working with three or four designers. I switched to being a full time, fully invested Events blogger so I could be exposed to new creations by new people I've never tried. JUMO, thank you for all the accessories you created and shared! The jewelry in this styling, Salimah OnixDiamonds, made the elegant look even more refined. And ~ghee, who also sent an array of things that allowed for more than one blog entry, shared this purse. It's basic black and silver, but the strands of leather on the side of the purse changes hue with a HUD.

KaTink shares items that I sort and use in different ways at different times. KaTink Poses has poses, props, items for couples, for romance, for besties, for group gatherings and more. If I could have a KaTink pose set for my 23 family members on my Mr's side of the family, Thanksgiving would be so much easier, right? Only if that were possible. I get pouty (really, occasionally I do!) at times, because I don't have a special someone who would hop into pair poses with me. Most of the time, as a result, I do the static poses and backgrounds. This time, I realized the Pose Meh pack had poses AND a little prop. I set up a little scene, and 'Posed Meh'. Hahaha... and one more quick note. The bright red sign comes from no. 7, and from a box that has a number of other creepy signs, police tape and things I think are preparing us for Halloween.

Couturier's Docks - A Ticking Tocking Better Run Fast Event - Lybra

Something special from Lybra - at Couturier's Docks, and it's not difficult at all to see how a gown like this could sell out quickly. If you don't know how Couturier's Docks works, it's like many of the special discount arenas scattered around the grid. The unique option at this particular location is that designers present items 1/2 off but... BUT... there are a limited number of each item sold... only 50.
It stays constant for each month, and counts down from 50 to 0, for each submission. Depending on the moment, the item posted may disappear more quickly than other items, so though you can find the items from month to month, getting there early has its perks!
Razmataz has a selection of new poses created for Rock Your Rack, which begins in a few days! You'll find an exclusive set only available at the event, a special Hunt gift and Gachas. Many designers are planning on offering exclusives, Hunt gifts, Gachas and some are doing a very special silent auction item as well. You need to mark your calendar for September 1!

Dance On the Clouds -- Featuring [AD], Silken Moon, Face Paint, and Kyxe Skins & Shapes

There's something really magical about certain pieces of inventory I receive from time to time. I don't know why it hits me like it did, but this red dress called Passion spoke to me. It's far from ordinary. The flutter of action of the dress is mesh, and it's as if a wayward wind blew up the dress, Marilyn Monroe -esque, and then the designer captured that energy forever.
I have so many emotions flitting about inside my head at the moment. As a result, I had about 4 different ideas for style and setting. I like to think, "Who is this girl?" and "Where is she going?" Most of the time recently, the girls are someone, somewhere in a world of my imagination, not often representatives of me per se, but a viewpoint into a potential alternative universe me where I COULD be that girl.
Is she a femme fatale? It was one idea I had that ran through my veins as I styled it. The fact that you cannot see her face, only her eyes, made me think of the brilliantly clad spy at a fantastic soiree. A female version of James Bond could wear such a gown, and all of those pieces be neat little tricks of the trade that Q added to make it both gorgeous and a gown that could get her out of a pinch when she needed it.
Is she from another dimension where gravity doesn't pull everything down, and so the floating flap of exhilarating red stayed as it did because that's how it done in this alternate universe. And my mind ran wild. When you're dealing with a lot of emotional issues, it's wonderful to consider alternative plans that land you otherwheres, and far from those overwhelming things.

If I lived in a world with low or no gravity, does that mean I could dance in the clouds? I think perhaps I will. [AD] (AngelsDemons) created this intoxicating gown and inspired my dash of imagination. Silken Moon contributed the cloud walking boots as well as the nail appliers. Kyxe brow layers enhanced the bit of face that shows as does new products from the newly reopened Face Paint.

I'm excited to add each of the designers presented here to make this style possible:

I Read Notices -- Featuring Hudson's Clothing Co., Kastle Rock at Frost Fair, and Chop Zuey

I know that numerous notices cross your virtual desk every day because the same is true for me. I tried something a long time ago and it helps me manage the vast weight of virtual information I'm fed in a way that I can process most of it.

I open my email first. When I do, I can read a portion of the notice there, without any disturbance from anything else online. From "New..." to "Free..." to "Closing now..." I find a whole array of word teasers meant to get my attention.

If I read all of these in world, plus the ones that shoot by at the speed of light sometimes,  just click close and don't absorb. I'm glad they ALL go to my email so that when I log off, I also have time to read through things I might not have seen.

For me, it's one small way I try to stay organized and look forward to 2014. I saw the notice for this hat from Hudson Clothing Company. I contacted the girl after I read Free Hat, and took a second to look at the photo. I love it. It's particle optional and the wand is also. What a fun way to ring in the new year.

The gown from Kastle Rock has the flexi skirt shown above, but I turned it over to see how it would lay and got this effect that reminded me of feathers fluttering. The earrings are from Chop Zuey's generous gifts during the holidays.

I continue to think of all of you, sending you warmth and positive energy as we all ring in the New Year. Live! Laugh! Love!

You Never Know Who's Listening... -- Featuring Ms. Darcy and Luziefee

Social media has broadened my internet horizon a lot in these recent days. I'm one of those old people who don't try new things so quickly. I know there's use in each new fad that comes along, but I also get comfortable in what I do and how programs run (until they change it completely like Flickr recently did!!)...

Facebook then to me was just another MySpace, and I had one of those, though no one ever used it. I had it. It was 'cool' at the time I created the account, but eventually everything becomes uncool. I just wasn't as quick to hop on the Facebook wagon. Now I have, and I meet new people, people who have nothing to do with SL, by linking with friends friends friends. I even have people who type to me in letters from languages that are so unique I don't even know what they are!

When they take time to look at my blog, they see an array of topics, whatever happens to be in my heart on any given day, and stories related to SL, but they have no real reference point on which to start. But they stay and remain commentors, followers, and eventually friends. It's a unique thing to me. I often realize that I don't know who's reading me and in essence who's listening.

I've also realized recently that many groups I'm in have countless members who are primarily silent. Occasionally a topic arises and they speak up and share something and their voice makes a difference. I happened to comment on a gown the other day and I ended up showing you this gown today as a result of who was chatting, and who was listening. I like building my world on relationships and enjoying the fashion as I go. When I get old and grey (wait I am!!), I will still have priceless treasures in all the friendships I've made. Life can't get any better than that.
