Let It Snow - Peace On Earth Hunt 7 (POE 7) Items from ALB and Luziefee; Also NEW From Lyrical Bizarre Templates and Chop Zuey

A compilation - a puzzle - it's one of those stylings and I loved it. I put together pieces from several outfits. I've wanted to do a Lyrical B!zarre Templates post for a while even though she's off gallavanting around the world, I thought she might like to have a few of her things shared. She makes original mesh, which makes her work different from many things I see other places and makes it fun to figure out how to present it to you.
I don't always have full perms in the blogger's copy but I do have options, and in this case, the options ended up yielding one of the most beautiful looks I've made so far with her work. The shiny and bumpiness categories under texture allowed for a bit of tweaking and I ended up wearing a STUNNING latex mini with a swaying soft cape. The dress -Plays- was released for the .PENUMBRA. show. The Calico outfit provided the neck and shoulder pieces that I evolved into a cape of sorts.
From the Peace On Earth Hunt 7 (POE 7), I have a Luziefee Butterfly Pearl Necklace while the headpiece I added to the outfit came from ALB Mermaid outfit. Each of the designers included an array of fun, festive and costume-like extras so you can play with all of it and make a whole array of outfits as a result.
If you haven't been to visit Chop Zuey yet this season, you're missing some of the magic of the season. It's ALWAYS a classy store, always presenting items true to the times, fashion aware, with something for just about everyone. Once a year Ms. Belle takes the concept of giving to a whole new level. The countdown to Christmas event glimmers beautiful items for everyone, male and female, members of her group and those who are not. I'm wearing one of the men's items, a bracelet set called Anchor Of My Soul. Unbelievable beauty and generosity - trademarks of this store.

A New Designer On My Radar - Sabra Style - and the Ever Glorious Chop Zuey

Every so often I receive an item from Kylie Sabra at Sabra Style. I wasn't sure how I got on her radar, but I was happy to be there and enjoyed the array of items she sent for me to review. I've done three other items from her shop (found in the Renaissance Galleria), and tonight I styled KellyAnn in fuschia. My favorite part of this dress is the mesh slinky sleeves. I really enjoy seeing new ways mesh has been adapted by different designers to create a wide vision of art.
I popped into her store to get a sense of it's layout, her array of items to be bought, and her general aesthetic. There are multiple colors of some items, just like KellyAnn, so you have the opportunity to find something that suits your skin tone and color wheel as well as your personal tastes.
Chop Zuey by Belle Roussel has the most beautiful collection of necklace, earring, bracelet (not shown in photo) and a ring, done with a white gold backdrop and a variety of precious gem stones. I've chosen Garnet for these photos and will show you some of the other stones in other photos in the coming days so you can get good look at the quality and artistry that always exists at Chop Zuey!

CRYYYYY - Featuring Sakura and Kaithleen's from FASHIONART Faire, EMO-tions and [[j'adore]]

I met Kaithleen when I was maybe a 10 day old model. I remember she had created a mesh item that was see through, enough that I could see my nipples and I was really anxious about this because I wasn't sure how edgy fashion in SL would let me get, and how to draw that line. I think I understand that line a little more now than I did back then, and I've seen a lot of Kaithleen's art since then as well.
Today, the pantsuit from FASHIONART Faire (still in progress til 31 May) comes from Kaithleen's and it gave me an overall vibe of playful casual. If there were summer snowballs, I'd make them and throw them wearing something like this. How's that for imagination!? Sakura has an entire outfit called Baby Pink also found at FASHIONART Faire, and it includes these precious low heeled pink Mary Janes.
The jewelry from EMO-tions has a number of pieces all from the DRAGONHEART series. I used a few of them, and repurposed one of the rings so the broach at my throat had a little more unique detail. The last new thing to share with you comes from [[j'adore]], a pose store I've only become familiar with recently as they participated in one of the events I worked, and I decided to go by the store and see what I could see. How could I turn down a group gift with 5 different 'couples' pose sets? Even though I don't have a special someone (CRYYYYYYY) to use the pose sets with, I did use a pose from each set so I could show you a little bit more of [[j'adore]].

Without these great designers, I would not be able to do what I love:

Gingerbread, So Sweet To Eat -- Featuring Belladonna, Luziefee, Silken Moon, and [Mirror's Enigma]

I'm fanatical at this time of year about Gingerbread. I love the cake, the muffin, the little friends, anything made from this basic holiday staple!

When I was in my teens, I often worked at child care facilities. I grew up taking care of much younger brothers, so it was a smooth fit. I seemed to tell the same stories over and over again. One favorite they wanted to hear was the simpler, sweeter Gingerbread Man.

Later in life, when I had my own children, I think the story had become one of my favorite. We'd get gingerbread men for the holidays and then I'd have to tell the story over and over again. I think children never get enough repetitions of stories and songs and sweets.

No children to entertain in a really long time, except perhaps me. I still send out to my favorite bakery to get the best gingerbread in the universe. I love it on so many levels.

When I saw Belladonna's cute holiday outfit, it was love at first sight. I pulled on the leather jacket from Silken Moon, to show a different look. There's one other drool in this series... boots!

Live! Laugh! Love! and eat gingerbread.

Walkin` In a Winter Wonderland -- Featuring A.F.I Designs, EMO-tions, Luziefee, and .::Shellack

The limited gown from A.F.I Designs shows you the whimsy and frolic that's synonymous with this time of year. I think I look suitable to be cast in a new winter movie, or dressed perfectly for a visit to the snow park at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. I just need to find my date!

The dress itself snows. I found it a clever addition that no designer off line could really ever do. Sure they could have a confetti cup stored somewhere in the bell of the gown, but then what would the model have to do? And wherever you put the mechanics, it would likely stretch material unusually.

When I visited Rockefeller Plaza, it was December 27, and it was snowing. It was so cold, I felt like it was possible we'd get frost bite just standing there watching the skaters. Certainly this dress would be precious to wear there, but comfortable in the snow? Absolutely not!

In that regard, it makes my online world so much livelier. That week in New York between Christmas and New Year, it never got above 22 degrees. We shivered our timbers till they could not shiver anymore. And cute little dresses were pushed aside in favor of wiser winter wear.

Carrie's Lingerie NEW VIP Gift, EMO-tions, and Luziefee, plus EMOtions, [OneDom], MG, [Modern.Couture], Pomposity, and VG from J&A Expo

As promised, a release from Carrie's Lingerie, just to whet the whistle. I've got more to show you! Carrie always offers an array of layers, and types of layers as well.

In this set, there were pieces for the bra, the corset, a simple pair of thong panties, a garter and stockings set, a very mini-skirt option (not shown), a boy-cut panty...

I thought the unisex hair by EMO-tions worked perfectly for that 'just out of bed' look I was hoping for here. I thought it looked deliciously touseled.

I never have enough boots. It's impossible! I love boots. When I saw these from Luziefee, they appealed to me more than the average boot and so I had to get two pair. I know... decadent!!

I will continue to accessorize with items from J&A. It opens today to the public, and runs until December 21. I've shown an item or two from almost all the participating designers and will try to get thru the rest before the 21. Wish me luck!

I've Been Workin` On the Railroad -- Featuring A.F.I Designs, Luziefee, Kyxe Skins & Shapes, and MADesigns

This morning when I constructed this outfit, I started with the hair from MADesigns, Jo... and built my character around that. I felt like it was the old Engineer, like a train Engineer, hat and suited to me heading to a railway station.

When I found this little train parked at one of Second Life's train stations it made me think of Tweetsie Railroad. For those who do not know of this particular attraction, in the North Carolina mountains a train station became a family vacation destination, something to do while you're in the mountains.

Over the years, a whole theme park built up around it. Primarily designed for young children between 0 and 11 years old, there are many little mini things at the park. I got into this cute little train and didn't quite fit, just like an adult would feel at Tweetsie!

Later this morning, I found another train station on a sim of virtual New York, or I should say 10 SIMS! I was in awe of the place and loved this train that's much closer to natural scale. Unfortunately, it only stopped for about 20 seconds at each stop. I flew around the sim about 3 times to land, get the camera ready and shoot before the train took off again!

I continue to love how big and diverse Second Life has grown. Each time I go out into a place I've never been I get to see the work of incredible content creators. I get to wear some of the best clothes on my journeys as well, like the Boquet dress from A.F.I Designs and Sabine pumps from Luziefee. Live! Laugh! Love!

Being Someone Else For A While -- Featuring a New Designer on the Grid - Fabouzz, Luziefee, .::Shellac, Kyxe Skins & Shapes, AIDORU

This evening I took a series of photos that were meant to compliment a new pair of boots by Luziefee and a great new top from a brand new designer on the grid. Fabuozz has only recently opened and the lady who's creating items for this new store comes from a far away world and speaks a language I've never been exposed to previously. I've met many who spoke Spanish, French, German, and so many others, but she speaks Indonesian, and that was neat to me.

She had a few mesh items to share and I picked one of them. I told her that I'd talk about her, the new business and show you all her sense of style and art. When I put the outfit together, I had the top and the boots on, and otherwise naked. It sounds a bit silly but it's how I build a style. I take the elements I have from sponsors, and put them on, then really try to think about what the girl wearing these elements would be doing while she wore them. And lately, I've traveled all over the grid to find those locations.

One of the criteria I use to search for sites is traffic. I look for places with low traffic so that when I'm wandering around and posing like a mannequin on someone's property, they're not coming up with curious questions, or getting into the frame unexpectedly. I've found it's easier to work this way. Though I still do meet new people along my journey and that's never a bad thing. I like the idea of meeting people from a whole array of worlds and interests as a side effect of what I do.

I felt like the top and boots were screaming GoGo dancer to me. I went to work on compiling all of the other little puzzle pieces, till I had a modern version of a GoGo dancer look. Then went on the hunt in Second Life for a club that might support the same theme and make sense as part of my overall puzzle. I found -EMOTE-. The place was small but well appointed. I could imagine a girl curled up on the sofa at the beginning of her day, sipping coffee and waiting for business to begin.

I took a number of photos on the dance poles included in the club build. I realized how incredibly difficult it was to capture a photograph I liked while my avi was in motion. If I took extra photos, I would have a better selection to later use. I saved two for this blog and posted them to my Flickr also. If the beginning of the day was coffee and time to prepare for business beginning, the last photo represents this dancer's world after the club closes and the world is dark and quiet once again.

I don't often explain my thought processes but thought it would be fun to share. I also wanted to make a point of sharing the 'birth' of a new store on the grid. I wish Fabouzz great success!

The Coolest Movie Ever -- Featuring Kungler's, Luziefee, [[Masoom]] and [Mirror's Enigma]

I imagine we all have our own unique taste in things. Some like chocolate. I don't care for it so much. I also don't care for cake. Traditionally, you get birthday cakes but I always got a birthday pie. I also have unique taste when it comes to movies. I invest passionately in science fiction above all other things. And I rarely choose what some people would call 'chick flicks.'

I've never worried about marching to my own beat. Maybe my childhood prepped me for that, or maybe everyone's childhood does. I really never enjoyed group think, and if a group thought anything, I'd often stubbornly take another path instead of joining them. I know there are fallacies in taking it that far but I still recognize that in my personality. Take me or leave me. I hope you take me!

I love Riddick. Period. It's the best movie ever written. I love the dry blunt humor. I love the character. I love how they warn you at the beginning that we're used to the concept of fighting evil with good but in some cases,  like this one, you end up fighting evil with another sort of evil. The dialogue and I are friends. I notoriously quote the story as it progresses.

I got to thinking about my taste in favorite movie and realized it would be intriguing to know what favorite things people do in Second Life. My favorite places in Second Life rotate around my current interests and in the past 8 years since I first joined in March 2005 as a Caryn Gorky, my interests have been quite diverse. I probably don't know 1/10th of what people do in Second Life, but I'd like to know.

I love the Chronicles of Riddick. Yes, I've heard there is a sequel. No. I haven't seen it yet. I imagine there are in essence sequels to things I tried years ago in SL, and things I should revisit. I like to evaluate self and plan for the next year as a year comes close to its end. Many of the goals I set for 2013 have been wonderful, almost as wonderful as Riddick at times! I know 2014 will be great too and I'll find my path, just as I always do. I hope the path includes walking a little time with you.

Holodecks Are Coming -- Featuring Luziefee, Slink, {{BSD Design Studio}}, blackLiquid and Lyrical Bizarre

Quite a long while ago, the television series Star Trek presented the idea of a Holodeck. This room on the star ship Enterprise had the facility of recreating any scene it had been programmed to share, and the people on board the Enterprise could use the Holodeck for all sorts of reasons.

Right now, we're plugged into a virtual medium that transports us to various 'places'; we get to our email account, to news headlines, to favorite photos, to Skype and of course Second Life and other online games.

So far, virtual reality occurs in a machine that thought it looks three dimensional, is actually only a flat panel screen, and we watch it, and live through it. We have many of the same options that those personnel on Star Trek had, but our Holodeck hasn't quite reached that level of immersion... YET.

4. [Mirror's Enigma]: Stella Peach Skintone (new this week)
5. Poses in photo studio at The Creative Loft

I always enjoyed the Holodeck episodes. They didn't overuse the idea, and it was often used for nostalgic purposes by those who'd enter it. I saw one where the crew found themselves lost in an old Western saloon. The diversity of the Holodeck only occurred because of the diversity of the programmer who made the Holodeck possible.

My personal thought is that the world at our fingertips that we know and love is only the first step of many that we'll take over the next several decades that eventually lead all of us into the Holodect of Star Trek. We're close. Very close.

I thought of the Holodeck today when I rezzed the unique decorated room I received from {{BSD Design Studio}}. BabySass makes great shoes like the Model Muse in Tropical that I have on for these photos, but she's also a clever builder of many things. Items she wanted blogged were meant to transport me to a hotel in Paris. The small candy jar on the table comes from the Candy Fair and is also something she created.

I get to wear great accessories as I travel from my imagination to other people's imagination. The new release Lisa at Hairoin paired with the Estrella jewelry set from Lyrical Bizarre and the brand new mesh hands I have from Slink adorned with blackLiquid's new Floral Fall Nails (must have Slink hands to use these nails). I can choose something fancy and find a ballroom, or I can slip into something casual like Anju Morning Dew, the outfit I have on from Luziefee and explore more casual scenes.

Androgynous Fun -- Featuring Tresor and Dot-Be Fashion

I used to style some of the men's clothing included in sample packs or hunt packs and things like this. Over time and because of time constraints, I got away from doing so. Last year, the 2012/2013 season, androgyny was part of the fashion movement.

But like most things in fashion, it comes and goes as the 'it' look. As with most fashion, a few people hold on to each detail that comes along and nothing ever goes completely out of style as a result. I like it when I see women in something traditionally designed for men...

I like seeing the reverse as well. I imagine all types of men have used women's attire at some time or another for all sorts of reasons, whether it was a practical joke, a fetish, or simply part of their personality. For me, someone who wears garments that are traditionally female...

Can look super hawt when they pair the feminine look with their own masculinity. An example might be the way Mel Gibson looked in the movie Braveheart some many years ago. (If you're too young to know this movie, go and rent it. It's THAT good, and timeless.)

Others may really appreciate a dandy way of dressing for men. The song Yankee Doodle Dandy actually pays homage to this style of dress, because at the time, it was not uncommon at all for men to have as much invested in their attire as the women, and very popular they were too.

I think it's wonderful that Second Life gives all of us the freedom to explore many facets of ourselves, our interests, our personal sense of style, but more so, our personal sense of who we are and in a place that likely pressures less than the world off line would press if making the same choices there.

I'm thankful for the brilliant options, the freedom of expression, the many ways sexuality can be shared, expressed and enjoyed via Second Life. I'm glad there are designers from all over the world sharing their curiosities, skills, diversity and open minded ways.

Whether I'm in a tuxedo by Tresor, which I found in a gift box at the Charleston Ball Room, or wearing the brilliant sleeveless sweater dress Linde from Dot-Be Fashion, I find my niche easily in this Second Life. I can mix and match lifestyle choices as easily as I can mix and match clothing. That's priceless.

Home Sweet Home - Featuring A.F.I Designs, Luziefee, Hairoin and Tresor

There's a saying - Your Home Is Where Your Heart Is - and I think it's an interesting bit of truth, especially since many of us have created virtual world homes that mean as much if not more to those who've done so, and in essence their whole life exists in text and pixels and connecting people.

5. RYCA: Gold Box Earrings and Necklace

I really never was keen on the idea of a personal home. I have owned two very small homes along my SL journey, both of which fit on a 512x512 parcel. This was the size the Lindens offered rent free for members who joined when I joined.

Even way back when SL was much smaller as far as land mass would take you, and the few groups that gathered like-minded people, I enjoyed those few locations more than I ever did the 512x512 piece. I needed to feel people's energy, highs and lows, and be a part of something bigger than myself.

I've shared more of my heart and soul in my Second Life than with many who would know me from my life offline. Due to circumstances I do not control, it's very rare for me to travel to visit family, to go 'home' for the holidays or attend special events like weddings and graduations.

Maybe that's why I really need this world we share. I've met others, many many others, who also deal with health issues and have their world and their home at their fingertips. I'm not special in that regard, just one of many who learned how to distract myself in a computer so I did not dwell on the less fortunate details.

There was a time when people online would see another person stressing out about some activity in their online world and in text, the one person would tell the other to 'GET A LIFE'. It was meant as an insult, to their intelligence, to their ability to actively accomplish something off line, and to imply all sorts of rudeness.

Times have changed in that regard. Many people make this world their life for many reasons. Who am I to judge when a person can or cannot function in society that's beyond the virtual world where I know them? If I judge harshly, I should be prepared to be judged harshly. I prefer to accept what I see and hear until such a time may come where I learn it wasn't real or truthful.

I've heard the phrase a number of times in my many explorations. Some things I've done were for the pure fun of it, role-play and all sorts of imaginative things. They resembled things I'd done as a younger woman, like Dungeons and Dragons, only pixelated and more intense.

In a new Cleo gown from A.F.I Designs, only available at BOSL Renaissance Galleria paired with stiletto boots, Lysa by Luziefee or wearing a new princess-ish gown from Tresor called Zuri's Elegance and brand new hair from Hairoin called Blair I'm right at home, where my heart is, enjoying the life I've created for myself, It's my life, and I know I make the most and best of it.

It's Getting Better All the Time -- Featuring Luziefee, Hairoin, {{BSD Design Studio}}, and [[Masoom]]

I sometimes wonder how things could get any better than they are at any given moment and then I live just a little longer, meet a few more people, get to share my ideas and dreams with special new friends and I realize that there can be no limit to how good something can get because it can get better all the time.

It just does. Of course the mundane parts of life stick around. No matter how many times I do laundry in my lifetime, there will be another load to do soon. It's not those moments that I'm thinking of though. The details in life get more and more precious. It's almost immeasurable.

I put on this amazing gown by Luziefee, the Jordis in pastel, and pulled on the brilliant pink version of Fashion Show First Row heels from {{BSD Design Studio}} and fairly danced around this garden. I twirled and smiled and felt the beautiful recklessness of the moment.

There's not a cloud in the sky literally or figuratively. I could borrow trouble, or dwell on issues from the past, but I prefer to embrace the beautiful. I travel around Second Life looking for lovely places to take photos and this Zen garden here helps me make my point today.

Of all the years I've been here, 8+ or so, I've only run into a rare few whom I could not interact with well, and in those cases, I just walked in a new direction. I learned that focusing on the negatives in life keep us stuck in the past and make it nearly impossible to go forward.

If I could give a smidge of advice, I'd suggest that no matter what memories you have eating away at your mind from your past, the sooner you can let them go, the sooner your life can go forward and begin getting better. Find the bluest sky, the most elegant gown like Veera from [[Masoom]] that will show at Avenue's Fashion Week, the setting you feel most safe and most loved...

Then actively choose to live in that moment. It's so much healthier. As good things happen around you and you make a point to SEE those good things, more and more will become visible. Light will become contagious, and the energy you feel and share and are makes you brighter and full of joy.

I've made my share of errors. I do so online. I do so offline. I work hard to manage my actions and attitude so that on those occasions when I do miss the mark, I have the character needed to go back to whomever or whatever went wrong and make it right. I wish that for you also. It's so much healthier than carrying around the weight of errors, the guilt you might feel, and darkness surrounding you.

I don't have a magic wand or a crystal ball. I don't fabricate the world around me. I just live in it. Even when it's not such a great health day, there's something in it worth celebrating. I just have to find it. And when I'm looking, always looking, I know that it's getting better all the time.
