Team Fox and a Great Charity Event -- Featuring Sabra Style

My greatest passion amidst the passion I have for the fashion business in Second Life is how well and often this community of people participate in and celebrate and donate to charities. Today, at the LeFevre Mansion, I got to see some of the most beautiful models on the grid from BLVD rock the runway in an array of designs that were on display purely to raise finances for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's.

To donate directly follow this link please: https://www.michaeljfox.org/get-involved/donation.php?fr_id=2380
At the LeFevre Manshion
Artizana Ethnic Couture, Blue Moon Enterprises, Dot-be fashion, Image Factory in Second Life, Sabra Style, Soul Designs, and Surplus Motors donated the items used in the fashion show with 100% of the proceeds donated going to the charity.
A Wonderful Reason To Celebrate
I looked in my little folder of "Blog Me" for a design by one of the designers represented at the event to show my support. (Not the designs shown that day but items I might have to blog from them from other places, other times, just to clarify...) I found Vivienne in Gold from Sabra Style by Kylie Sabra. I got to sit with her at the event, which made it even more special, and cheered on her many contributions as the BLVD models showcased them, and she and I both found the designs presented by the other designers in the show fantastic and cheered for them as well.

It's really hard for me to step out of my little work zone and go anywhere, really. I'm far more shy than many of you might have imagined, and the anxiety of 'I won't know anyone.' follows me whenever I do gather my wits and put on my brave face. Once I arrive, I'm usually so glad I made the effort to attend, but it's the making myself go part that I have to overcome. Events occurred all afternoon as part of this program, two fashion shows, live music, DJ music, and more. I attended the first fashion show and heard one of the musicians play. I even got to dance for a bit, after poking in IM and asking if he liked to dance, would he dance with a stranger.

Marcus LeFevre and his team, Team Fox and all of their representatives, and everyone else responsible for making the event possible made it beautiful as well.

Sexxxy at Carrie's - Carrie's Lingerie and Chop Zuey

A little sex appeal never hurt anyone... so these pixels are for all of you out there who like a few sexy pixels now and then!
Carrie's Lingerie has a number of ways it holds your attention. First and last, however, are the classy yet sexy dynamic designs. No matter what your taste and personal style, favorite colors and so much more, there's something there for you. The VIP program offers a tremendous amount of benefits and there are always sales. Often there are hunts in progress as well as Midnight boards, so even if your budget is ultra tight, you can enjoy her work.

One of her collections called the Seven Deadly Sins called to mind all of the sins mentioned in Dante's Inferno. (I know it's from Dante's Inferno because I might have once had a huge crush on Brad Pitt and he was in a movie called Seven with Morgan Freeman - an awesome movie to rent if you haven't seen it yet...)
Each sin had a special design and color and different pieces. After they'd all been released, the request for these same designs to be released in other colors was deafening. To please the customers (like me!!), she added a variety of colors and options including the one shown here tonight, Gluttony in Light Teal.

Another Perspective -- Featuring Rapture from The Month of Games - Ms. Peacock Gown

After doing a Ms. Peacock gown yesterday, I thought it would be really interesting to put another one on today, also part of the themed event The Month of Games, from the same game, Clue - yet interpreted so differently.
Rapture went all out with sweeping beautiful peacock feathers, bold colors and a dramatic style overall. The feathers spun together for a headpiece only added to the boldness of this style. I love seeing how different artists interpret the same idea.
There are three board games represented in this Month of Games themed event. You can find Candyland, Clue and Chess, and every designer was asked to make a piece for each theme. Imagine all the ways those games could be portrayed in fashion and you get a smorgasbord of color and fun.

Making Waves -- Featuring from Fashion for Life !Lyrical B!zarre Templates, Kazimir by Kaerri, *~Damesfly, and {NanTra}, also new {{BSD Design Studio}}

I admit to being a little bit slow when it comes to math and other skills. I might have once known ratios better than I do today, however, I set aside that information once I had to know how many kisses it took to heal little boys broken hearts and other little life tidbits.
I say that because I've done a few things a little less right (meaning wrong, but shhhh) as I transferred my blog information to the beautiful Versus magazine. I was so grateful to be allowed to share my work there, and then facepalms, realized that it's not quite like it's supposed to be.
So I dusted off the trusty dusty calculator and did percentages on a calculator so I could figure out how to convert image size to the other way Versus does it, versus the way (we will henceforth call the wrong way) I did it. I think I have it correct now. I have two photos sized to share there, and one sized ... yes, now you see, the Caryn Ashdene way. Errp.
http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?px=37321408&fr_id=61576&pg=personal to donate directly -- I'm wearing Waves by Lyrical B!zarre Templates, from Fashion For Life. I also have Kazimir by Kaerri's FFL necklace, poses from {NanTra}'s support of FFL, a beautiful new coif from *~Damesfly at FFL, and Bonne Chance in blue from BSD Design studio.

It's Today! -- Featuring from Fashion For Life: {NanTra}, *Living Imagination*, EMO-tions, and Bliensen+MaiTai

Sometimes all you need to do is show up for something. You do a small thing. Another person does a small thing and before you realize it, the whole world has changed. That's why I like charity fund raisers like Fashion For Life. It works with a huge organization called Relay for Life and raises money every year for the American Cancer Society. Whether you have a few pennies or a million dollars matters not. When you give a little bit of you, your time, your money, your heart, your voice, what you do something, and I do something, and our friends do something, we really can make a difference.

There are 10 sims set up with incredible builds. I've listened to the designers preparing for this event for weeks now. They've poured heart and soul into its creation. Then there are the champions, the ones who sponsored those sims that are so well decorated and follow the theme of Wanderlust, this year's theme:

Azul, BSD, Body Canvas, EMO-tions, Essenz, FBD, KL Couture, Heydra, LaPointe and Bastchild, Leezu, Legal Insanity, Miamai, Mon Cheri, Moondance Boutique, Pure Poison - Fashion, PurpleMoon Creations, Tres Beau Designs, Vintage Jewels, zanze, and ZOZ.

There are patrons, a whole list of them, who donated 10,000L in advance to support the event. There are three sponsors who though they do not have items in the exhibit, they too chose to donate 10,000L to support the event. Donors gave 2000L to the event, and then there was the VIP group early pass that allowed individuals to give 2500L for a chance to shop yesterday prior to the event's official opening. It's an amazing work in progress, and a super successful means to an end.
I used a few of {NanTra} poses to show off another Fashion For Life Styling, poses created for the event. From Living Imagination, the beautiful Gypsy Dress, Bliensen+MaiTai created the jewelry, also found at Fashion For Life. And EMO-tions hair style Rene can also be found at Fashion For Life. From head to toe, you'll find elements that fit your style, and have a great time while you're doing it. There's a passport game, with prizes designed by the builders to encourage you to visit all 10 sims. There are Gachas, and so much more. What are you waiting for???

Here is the entire list of locations for landmarks to the sims.

Aging Gracefully -- Featuring from Fashion For Life: EMO-tions, *+Crie Style+*, ASC, **Feel** and New From h.m.a.e.m.

I find myself using silver and snow hair lately a lot more than when I first began blogging. The longer I invest in this, the more of me I seem to pour into it. This series of photos shows a really apt version of Karyn c. 2000. Granted, it's 14 years ago. And I no longer coach soccer, ref soccer matches and in general stay fit. That world was another time and place.
I don't mind so much that life evolves, all round us and within us at the same time. I don't mind that I age, or change size, shape, skin tone and everything else that comes with age. My voice still sounds like I'm about 15, but the rest of me looks my age and then some. Some ladies are delicate about age. "You never ask a woman how old she is." Sage advice from bygone days.
But why? I've never quite understood the logic behind anyone not wanting to reveal age. With age comes experience, wisdom, or at least the ability to say, "Oh, yeah that stupid thing you just did... been there, done that. You'll be alright." Men are allowed to age, but women? Society has too many double standards for gender based opinion for me to mention them all. This is but one.

I sit here, and I think about me, and my wisdom (and stupidity) and the things I've done and seen and loved. I think about the people that I didn't know 14 years ago when I looked like this, and the years since where new friends surfaced and life evolved. I am glad I'm here, doing this thing, in my now. I don't wish for yesteryear or long for a future I'm not sure will come.

A whole plethora of items from Fashion For Life are shown in my photos. EMO-tions (beautiful silver and black fade!), ASC, **Feel**, *+Crie Style+*. Besides the items from Fashion For Life, I've used the dress res gestae from h.m.a.e.m. So Summer... Featuring from Designer Showcase [Liv-Glam], Also >Asset<, A*S, and Essenz

Bright colors and unique textured patterns are a hallmark of the [Liv-Glam] look and this Dancehalls Days, that remains true.
The HUD contains options for three prints in varying colors as seen in my photos and the other three colors block a black and white bodice with a neon color at the skirt. Either way you wear it, you're going to find it easy to pair accessories.
New hair from >Asset< called Zhuge, A*S Rose eyepatch and Essenze Atlanta shoes add to my overall look along with favorite items from my inventory. I'm ready for summer, are you?

Sweet and So So Sexy Pink -- Featuring Zanze from PENUMBRA, {{BSD Design Studio}} and Face Paint

Hopping from one extreme to the next feels a little like riding a well timed ride at a theme park. There are calm parts that lull you into thinking things are safe and there are twists and turns and tunnels to lure you away from that fragile feeling of comfort. And it's FUN! We do it deliberately. The styles I've put together today made me feel a bit like that, and again, so much FUN!
This shear little mini comes from Zanze and a very dear friend Zzoie Zee. She's one of those dynamic forces in Second Life that seems to always be doing something, creative things, business things, building things. One thing that sets her apart from others who might be as busy...
She's never seemed cross or depressed or lost or moody and I've never once heard a single ounce of gossip about her or the places she's involved and invested herself. I consider her a treasure and when I get to wear something she's created, I consider that a treat.
I didn't over accessorize this design because of how it's originally designed. There's the pink sheer that makes it a very wicked evening club mini or a sexy bit of lingerie perfect to tempt that special someone. There are also ruffled pieces in several offsetting colors, metallic in nature. It's lovely in the soft femininity it represents and a part of PENUMBRA Fashion Week.

I'm thankful for each designer who made this blog possible:

Ask Alice -- Feautring Violator, JUMO from FASHIONART Faire, Face Paint, and no. 7

One pill makes you larger And one pill makes you small And the ones that mother gives you Don't do anything at all Go ask Alice When she’s ten feet tall.

And if you go chasing rabbits And you know you're going to fall Tell them a hookah smoking caterpillar has given you the call Call Alice When she was just small.

When the men on the chess board get up and tell you where to go And you just had some kind of mushroom And your mind is moving slow Go ask Alice I think she'll know.

When logic and proportion Have fallen sloppy dead And the white knight is talking backwards And the Red Queen's "Off with her head!" Remember what the dormouse said, "Feed your head."

I put together this wild styling with Violator by Soraya Vaher at the heart of the design. The new Light and Shadow Pretaporter has lines and curves that inspire almost a madness. For that reason, this old song by Jefferson Airplane came to mind. I began to put together pieces after that with chaos as the core aesthetic. Black lips from Jumo are a part of a set from FASHIONART Faire. Face Paint has a set called "Killer Liners" and I used one of those, apt to the overall feeling. And no. 7 had a series of masks out during a Gacha fair in recent past. The Dark Mask was one of the items from that series, and something I hadn't shown. You've seen EMO-tions Semiramis style before, on my blog and others' perhaps, but you've never seen it like this.

I find myself ever grateful for the support of designers like the following who make this blog possible:

A Hunk-a-licious Featuring JesyDream and HOLLYHOOD from FASHIONART Faire, >Asset<, Dot-Be Fashion, and Kyxe Skins & Shapes

Monday, a good friend was trying to help keep my mind off of things, and I ended up with these poses as a result. The one frame with me standing alone uses one of my poses from Demise of Flight while the pair pose comes from KaTink.
The hunk of fella who came to help was part of the perk up Caryn campaign. I must say, he'd perk up a lot of us wouldn't he?? Loved the placard type shirt from JesyDream at the FASHIONART Faire and the newest Cecilia pants from Dot-be fashion.
HOLLYHOOD has another pair of heels at FASHIONART, the Mya Heels in Carnation, and they gave a small touch of soft appeal to the harder urban overall style.
Kyxe new Romance lips continue to make my mouth look lickably sweet and >Asset< sent a very different style for hair, one I'm sure would suit either gender. Hopefully, you're inspired to participate!

Merry-Go-Round -- Featuring h.m.a.e.m. and Asset

Life reminds me of a Merry-Go-Round. It spins us in circles and it brings us to the same points over and over again. Just like the ride, it's repetitive, yet it's also fun. I'm not quite sure how that works in a moment of logical analysis, but it does work and I feel it. Today, I ran into a friend whom I met right at the beginning of my blogging my world. It was wonderful to see where she'd been, what she'd done and where she was going. It was also special to share my own jots and tittles (and no that really isn't a naughty word!!)
I thought of it as a challenge, 2 years ago. And today? Yep, still a challenge. It makes me happy. To wear clothing like this 'Afreak' jacket from h.m.a.e.m. and the lingerie 'Malorie' below it. To find a new hair designer trying to establish their brand >Asset< and know the title of the hair 'Wanderer' probably suits all of us some of the time. I'm glad I get to live and relive moments that are special with special people and get from point A to point B even if they're the same point a year later, or two or ten years. It's just another way to take a journey.

All that I do happens because of wonderful sponsors like the designers represented here:

Life's Tapestry -- Featuring Liv-Glam, *Les Petits Details*, BAOBA, Chop Zuey, Truth, and KaTink

I've done a composite photo, with two smaller photos added, as this is a composite styling that includes designers from all over the place supporting events of all kinds in Second Life. From Couturier's Docks, *Les Petits Details* offers Judith boots. At L'Accessories, you will find this spring welcoming hat from BAOBA.
If you take time to see who's invested time and craft into DOPE Fashion Week, you'd find this new mini from Liv-Glam - Waking Up In Vegas (sounds fun doesn't it!?). KaTink has new releases out that include the pose set Chasing Butterflies and the Backgrounds Pack Soft Blooms both of which are part of a charity drive called the EB Charity Event. Chop Zuey created a whole array of beads in Easter colors and gave them away last weekend to her group.
And last but surely not least, I have a special thank you to the one who sent me a gift card for Truth; I enjoyed the process of narrowing down ideas, til I found a style that suited me and the essence of this time of year, frolicking with butterflies. The more exposure I have to a diverse and free spirited group of designers, content creators, people who love and live a life of joy and value in Second Life, the more I embrace and treasure my experiences. We're all bits of fabric on a massive life tapestry.

The following designers offered an array of frolicking fun and helped create this look:

Setting Goals and Reaching Them -- Featuring *Living Imagination*, **Feel** and Pink Acid from DOPE Fashion Week

Winning and accolades come randomly. I really didn't know I was entered in a contest during the SAVIAD Spring Fair. I felt so honored to be included, it was a sense of acceptance, and a feeling of growing up into this image of myself that I wanted to be some 2 years ago when I began this leg of my life's journey in fashion and modeling in Second Life.
I had a specific idea where I wanted to go, and worked at it diligently. I knew that everything takes time, and steps are small at first, and then you learn to run. By the time I was recognized by the team at SAVIAD along with two other amazing bloggers, I found myself right where I wanted to be, and such a sense of wonder and comfort simultaneously for getting there.
I've received a few items to blog since SAVIAD ended, including this amazing dress - Silent Flowers - from Living Imagination. The privilege to work with the designers who participate in Couturier's Dock makes me smile. It's a culmination of so many specific decisions and activities. There were Linden involved in the win, but that has never been a goal of mine, nor will it. I just wanted to find my niche in this world, an acceptance that tells me what I do has value to others, helps in some way, and fills a need. It's a process, a determination, and so when I found myself here, putting together the style for Living Imagination, I just exhaled with delight at the opportunity.
I know that in many ways, I've only begun to grow, and know there is so much more to know. Life is like that. By the time we get to a goal, there's a new destination just off on the horizon, beckoning us to come, and we listen to that far off voice and know that it's just a process. One step. Another.

I thank those who contribute to my world, the designers who make this blog possible:

Deeply Felt Gratitude -- Featuring Silken Moon and Maxi Gossamer, Also from DOPE Fashion Week RJB Jewelry

One of my all time favorite builder/creator continues to manage several sims and add items to them from time to time. I have no idea how she created all that's for sale in her world, but if you've never visited the properties of Julia Hathor, you really should. I go back there month after month, for different seasons, different reasons, always to find another beautiful nook to pose, and enjoy the surroundings. The only down side is that you cannot run scripts. I often use a complicated but useful face light for photos, so I have to set it at home, then port over and take my pictures.
I met a designer from Robin's Jewelry Box, (RJB Jewelry) who's entered some of her pieces in DOPE Fashion Week. She had me over to her personal property, and showed me a whole array of things she'd made. Some were pieces originally crafted for friends and now being sold to any who'd find it interesting. Other pieces she created for the sake of having her own jewelry store. I was particularly fascinated by the chain (on my throat, bracelet and anklet) as she explained she'd had commissioned the link for a special someone. Getting to meet new people in this wide world of fashion remains one of my favorite parts of this thing I do, and I was glad I got to meet her. She told me while I was there, "You're the first blogger I've ever met." I shared with her a few things about me, and about how I've seen different designers make use of the blogger, and hopefully we helped one another out in the sharing.
Malicia Py sent me a little set of feisty fun pieces that are all black and all a little on the "be careful I'm dangerous" side of things. I love this. It's easy for me, and maybe anyone, to get into routines, a specific style that suits me, and I trip easily into those styles and don't think twice. I need to think, to be stimulated, to be encouraged. I played with the details and still have a few things of hers to share. There never seems to be enough time to show all that I want to share, but I hope you see the tidbits of value and creative design through my eyes and realize how wonderfully diverse and interesting these people are whom I have the privilege to work.
This world of fashion and play helps my physical world more than most realize, and makes a difference in a positive way. All of you, every friend, every fellow model, every designer, those who just poke me to say hello, all of you make a difference and in the cacophony of music that is your voices, your touch, your part in my world, I'm healthier and more stable than I'd ever be were you all absent. In case I haven't said it lately, I'm grateful. For the details. For each of you. I'm grateful.

Nothing I do would work without the support of designers, sponsors who make my blog possible:

You Are Loved -- Featuring Pichi from Couturier's Docks, Kastle Rock Couture, EMO-tions and Maxi Gossamer

Sometimes the simplest ends up being the most elegant. When I tried on EMO-tions new hair this week, Leena, I found myself feeling like a Southern Belle from another century, ready to ply my charms on the nearest Rhett Butler. The Marlena gown from Kastle Rock Couture also struck me as very simple, sweet and innocent and went well with the upswept coif.
I know this time of year brings celebration to some families, while others with other faith backgrounds enjoy tomorrow as just another lovely Sunday to relax during a weekend. I had friends over the years who celebrated other holidays, but didn't mind the ones that had made their way into the US culture to a point that businesses closed and people had long weekends.
You don't have to agree to a certain religion to enjoy the holiday and wherever you are in our wide world, I do hope you find the day tomorrow filled with good things. To those who celebrate a holiday tomorrow, I wish you happy family time, sharing with loved ones and friends, and whatever traditions you keep each year.
I've done a little bit of this and that through the years. Some of you know that I was a Youth Pastor along my journey, a marriage counselor, and other tangents to being a member of church staff. My personal theology has always been simple. I don't know a lot of doctrine, and it doesn't phase me. I know that people need to know they're loved, unconditionally, and that in this wide, scary world, At least one Southern Belle, in her teenytiny town loves you.

My blog would not exist without your support and that of these amazing designers:

A Lovely Shade of Pink - From !Lyrical B!zarre Templates - Also Featuring K-Code - and From Japan Fair: Candy Nail

I would style a handful of designers every day, every hour, because far more than just the artistic people they are, they're also truly beautiful people in their heart and soul, and they share that with everyone in their company. It makes me feel like I'm connected to something far more than "JUST" a business.
I'm blessed. I've noticed that as time passes, those relationships that go far beyond just the work place type of business acquaintance slowly shifts towards a truth that most of these people are now wonderful friends, people I admire, for their clothing and content creation? Yes, Sure. But it's so much more than that.
Lyrical B!zarre Templates owner Lyrical Bizarre aka Loredana works harder and puts so much of her time into her store, and it shows. She's developed the skill to make her own templates. In a world where few know how to manipulate the programs needed to render new mesh forms, her skill adds depth and beauty to collections and designers all over the grid.
If you're a designer and you're looking for a new template to use, something fresh, a new perspective, and you haven't visited her store, it would be a great time to visit. You'll find an array of glorious spring colors, new items, and loads of fun. And you'll meet one of those irreplaceable people who I know will touch your life magically.
