You Ain't Seen Nothin` Yet - Featuring Morphine from .PENUMBRA. Fashion Week, Persefona from Four Seasons Market, !Lybra, and Chop Zuey

I hope that though .PENUMBRA. Week, ( Penumbra Fashion & Events ) draws to an official close today, the new collections I've had bits and pieces to share with you might still be shared. Designers will be taking their new designs home with them and stores will have all sorts of new goodies to tempt you. The SL - Morphine sandal heels are the last official post I'll make for .PENUMBRA.
A new event begins today and has an array of Autumn items styled for both avatar wear and decor. I hope to share a little of both though I primarily stay with fashion these days, I don't want to disappoint the Event organizers or the many creative people who participated. The wreath from Persefona is one of several autumn leaf color accessories. Whether you're looking to add to an outfit for a night by the campire, something adorably perfect for such an outing, or searching for a unique piece to wear in your next Autumn fashion show, you might enjoy this from Four Seasons Market.
!Lybra has gone out of their way to make their world accessible even while they build a new store around their ever present ever classy designs. I had read about the special little corner they set up for those who maybe never tried Lybra before or are new to Second Life or simply on a very threadbare budget - this corner has an array of really darling designs for almost any occasion and they're all 1L. This Nurit red dress came from that section. It was the perfect frock for playing at a Carnival tonight.

When you live life fully, to the edge and then some, everything fires on all cylinders. You're a human engine and whatever your passion, it's pumping thunder and creating lightning. Some designers offer a few new items each year while others create scads each week. One designer that uses her imagination brilliantly is Belle Roussel. Today, she released Be Da' Buddha as a clutch (not shown) and as a shoulder bag. If this isn't clever, and beautiful, and so perfectly Chop Zuey, I don't know what is. Every time I think I've seen it all in Second Life, I realize that certainly hasn't happened yet!

May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor - Baboom! Exclusive at the Hunger Games

Playful and brightly colored are two definitions of what I've seen from Baboom Couture during the Hunger Games event. I've loved the chance to show you the beautiful fun by Kyra Camel.
I've used brighter lips and intentionally 'tinted' hair to a more neon-like color to keep with the theme. I also realized that with the unique bolero she created, and the silver shading at the bodice, then add to that the great plumage of flowers as a head piece and veil, the need for jewelry disappeared. It's one of the few outfits I've ever styled without adding a bit or bauble.
If you haven't had a chance to visit the Hunger Games event, I hope you can, and look for your favorite designers so you can wear exclusives like this long after the party ends and everyone packs up to go home. And may the odds be ever in your favor.

Making Waves -- Featuring from Fashion for Life !Lyrical B!zarre Templates, Kazimir by Kaerri, *~Damesfly, and {NanTra}, also new {{BSD Design Studio}}

I admit to being a little bit slow when it comes to math and other skills. I might have once known ratios better than I do today, however, I set aside that information once I had to know how many kisses it took to heal little boys broken hearts and other little life tidbits.
I say that because I've done a few things a little less right (meaning wrong, but shhhh) as I transferred my blog information to the beautiful Versus magazine. I was so grateful to be allowed to share my work there, and then facepalms, realized that it's not quite like it's supposed to be.
So I dusted off the trusty dusty calculator and did percentages on a calculator so I could figure out how to convert image size to the other way Versus does it, versus the way (we will henceforth call the wrong way) I did it. I think I have it correct now. I have two photos sized to share there, and one sized ... yes, now you see, the Caryn Ashdene way. Errp.
http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?px=37321408&fr_id=61576&pg=personal to donate directly -- I'm wearing Waves by Lyrical B!zarre Templates, from Fashion For Life. I also have Kazimir by Kaerri's FFL necklace, poses from {NanTra}'s support of FFL, a beautiful new coif from *~Damesfly at FFL, and Bonne Chance in blue from BSD Design studio.

Thank you to the wonderful designers who make this blog possible:

Milestones Featuring from Fashion For Life -AZUL-, Morphine, *~Damesfly and {NanTra}; from Designer Showcase Moondance Boutique

Milestones mean something to us because we can look back at a single moment in life and say, "That's when I ..." Though you might think joining the US Navy at 20 would be a milestone where I could look back and say, "That's when I grew up..." it's not really. That's just when someone else was there to take care of a rather foolish young lady who wasn't wise enough to take care of herself. You could consider getting married at 21 would be that aha moment, "That's when I grew up..." It wasn't then either. But a few months after that, after arriving at my duty station in the Navy in Florida, with my new husband, ready to take on the world, I gave birth to my first son, and that's when I began to grow up, because when you have to stop being the child to take care of a child, at least in my case, it nudged me just enough to realize it was time.
Now, they're gone, grown-up-ish. Moved out of the house and on their own. One spends his days getting his new wife to and from work and trying to sleep and then his nights working at Waffle House. The other one is criss crossing the country with a camp called Winshape, sponsored by the Chick-fil-A Empire. Both seem relatively happy. Both are older than my aha moment, when I knew I had passed childhood and debuted onto the stage of grown-up, and both are haplessly trying to find their balance, to discover that moment that will push them into life in a big shove much like what I shared about myself. I see it. I feel it. I know it every time we talk. And delightfully, though at the time I was a bit sad, my son and his wife got married so that leaves me with a new daughter too, who is also discovering her way into adulthood. She's probably the closest of the three, and the youngest.
Milestones mark moments you never forget, even if it's just you living them. In a world like Second Life, most would say, "It's just a game. There are no life lessons there. If you find life lessons there, maybe you need to GET A LIFE." Well I do understand that point of view, but I don't agree with it. Everyone defines their world to the best of the moment and my health and my beautiful but very small cage in this world only looks better sometimes when I immerse myself in my Second LIFE. I do pay attention to milestones here. I count my friendships joyfully. Professionally though, I pour my heart and soul into what I do. I look at each new chance to meet and work with sponsors a real treat, and now and then, those sponsors were dreams of mine, dreams I knew would take a long time to reach fruition.
No, working with this designer or that doesn't seem nearly as looming large as joining the Navy, getting married, or having my first son. Not all milestones in life are huge. Some happen when only you're awake, in the middle of the night, and you smile to yourself, knowing you finally achieved something. When Mami Jewell said that I could blog for her, it was one of those precious moments, a dream moment come true. This series of photos shows one of AZUL's exclusives for Fashion For Life, Naarnisse. Additionally, another new style from *~Damesefly for Fashion For Life was paired with the gown. I pulled a jewelry set from June's Designer Showcase made by Moondance Boutique and the red Mary Janes from SL - Morphine completed the style. I'm so grateful for what I get to do and who I get to work with. I haven't a clue where the next bit aha moment will happen, but I'm loving every moment of this one.

I am ever grateful to the designers who made this blog possible:

It's Today! -- Featuring from Fashion For Life: {NanTra}, *Living Imagination*, EMO-tions, and Bliensen+MaiTai

Sometimes all you need to do is show up for something. You do a small thing. Another person does a small thing and before you realize it, the whole world has changed. That's why I like charity fund raisers like Fashion For Life. It works with a huge organization called Relay for Life and raises money every year for the American Cancer Society. Whether you have a few pennies or a million dollars matters not. When you give a little bit of you, your time, your money, your heart, your voice, what you do something, and I do something, and our friends do something, we really can make a difference.

There are 10 sims set up with incredible builds. I've listened to the designers preparing for this event for weeks now. They've poured heart and soul into its creation. Then there are the champions, the ones who sponsored those sims that are so well decorated and follow the theme of Wanderlust, this year's theme:

Azul, BSD, Body Canvas, EMO-tions, Essenz, FBD, KL Couture, Heydra, LaPointe and Bastchild, Leezu, Legal Insanity, Miamai, Mon Cheri, Moondance Boutique, Pure Poison - Fashion, PurpleMoon Creations, Tres Beau Designs, Vintage Jewels, zanze, and ZOZ.

There are patrons, a whole list of them, who donated 10,000L in advance to support the event. There are three sponsors who though they do not have items in the exhibit, they too chose to donate 10,000L to support the event. Donors gave 2000L to the event, and then there was the VIP group early pass that allowed individuals to give 2500L for a chance to shop yesterday prior to the event's official opening. It's an amazing work in progress, and a super successful means to an end.
I used a few of {NanTra} poses to show off another Fashion For Life Styling, poses created for the event. From Living Imagination, the beautiful Gypsy Dress, Bliensen+MaiTai created the jewelry, also found at Fashion For Life. And EMO-tions hair style Rene can also be found at Fashion For Life. From head to toe, you'll find elements that fit your style, and have a great time while you're doing it. There's a passport game, with prizes designed by the builders to encourage you to visit all 10 sims. There are Gachas, and so much more. What are you waiting for???

Here is the entire list of locations for landmarks to the sims.

FASHIONART Faire: {NanTra}, .:JUMO:., D-Style, Loordes of London, Also New KaTink and Moondance Boutique

I'm fairly sure by the time the designers have a peek at this styling, they'll do a double take and wonder exactly how I got from the beginning to the end of this puzzle, mixing and matching pieces the way that I did. It ended up creating a whole other look, and sometimes that's the most fun of all!
The {NanTra} poses are still being run through, these from the Mod Mod World set. Now you've seen all 12. There's a set with a pair but since I don't have a partner, it's hard to do pair poses. I just get dreamy eyed.
.:JUMO:. created the basic gown. It had a gold underskirt, a sexy bra-like top and other pieces I took off so I could meld it with other designers. D-Style had the fitted mesh half vest and worn over that sexy showing a peek of skin looks like it's almost trying to be decent instead of a little naughty.
*~Damesfly*~ has blown my mind with the four options for hair they have for this event. I'm in love with this casual updo. I've never worn hair from there previously so I'm in hair heaven. I LOVE HAIR. Just in case anyone forgot. LOVE!!
The Loordes of London Kalaoa sunglasses are more than just a black plastic set. Colors around the rims make it as fun and fit perfectly against the great background from KaTink's Group Gift for May, May Fun Backgrounds.
More from Moondance Boutique to share as well. I used Emma (Desir Edition) jewels as well as LQ Mesh Nails as accents. Overall, I ended up with a radically casual fun for summer look, ready to cruise the beach for fun.

FASHIONART: Lybra, {NanTra}, HOLLYHOOD, !Fabouzz, Frogstar, M&M, *~Damesfly*~, NailedIt, DEADPOOL -- !Elemental, Face Paint

Rather than tell you three separate stories tonight, I want to share with you one big story, and show you a whole passel of items that will be available in two days at the FASHIONART Faire by Glamourist.
So many different participants means unique and fun pieces to mix and match. Each photo will attempt to blend several designers in a way that shows them to the best of my ability and enough to tempt you too.
I went and got SLink feet as a part of this process and have three pair of SLink mesh shoes. SLink just released a High version of their bare feet, and designers at this Faire have used both the Mid and the High to create shoes, so as a consumer, you might want to check as you shop, to differentiate between the two.
This outfit from Lybra may be one of my favorite outfits from the whole faire, but to be fair, I haven't tried on everyone's art yet so it's early to be saying favorite. I just thought the concept was fresh. The heart emits particles while the face globe radiates light. The unusual twist of chains makes a pair of angel wings like I've never seen.
All the photos use poses from {NanTra}, a pose creator I did not know prior to this event. I enjoy discovering new creations by new creators!
The angel photos and the photos with the Geko dress show two colors of the same heels from HOLLYHOOD. The emerald heels in the middle series of photos come from M&M Incorporated. I had not worked with either of these designers either.
Because of the beautiful glowing globe, I chose to go bald, completely bald with that outfit. The other two styles come from *~Damesfly*~. Lucas, the short style, has photos of both genders wearing it. The updo blends a bit of elegance but in a way that's easy, loose and summery instead of formal elegance.
I like the line of the Geko dress from DEADPOOL. The collar flips up just enough to be chic. !Fabouzz created the dress with irises, something short, simple and beautiful to wear.
As I shared over the weekend, Face Paint opened it's doors after the owner Eve Express took a hiatus. Two new releases, Breezy and Smoked Beauty 2, accented both outfits with the dresses.
I've also just begun to blog with items from Designer Showcase, and the gorgeous gold jewelry set from !Elemental accented the black Geko dress remarkably.
Accessories are the key to completing any style and the FASHIONART Faire has its share of them. NailedIt created a new set of nails and have them for SLink, as Mesh and also as Prim, so no matter what your preference, it's there.
I'm looking forward to other designers that are new to me as well as familiar faces, so to speak. I'm so glad you paused to read and support this work I truly love!
