I roamed around Lybra late last night to see the new rooms, how it's being organized and what might be new or fun to share with you. I was (as usual) overwhelmed with the number of things I wanted to try on, to wear, and to style for you. This swimsuit caught my attention, mostly because I think of formal attire when I think of Lybra. If you're a member of Lybra's group, you can find this in the group member room. And if you're not a member, you should be!
I paired Jennifer, the suit that comes with the ability to color change the top, bottom and belt each with different tones, or the option to color change all three to the same tone. I went with these tones because this reddish tone suits my skin so well, and always makes me feel beee-ooo-tiful. Yellow remains one of the fierce colors of 2014 and though we're about to ring in a new year, one more sash in that bold electric yellow works just fine. New boots from Lindy are available at Designer Showcase. Thankfully, I caught the news of a sale at Analog Dog and found a plethora of new styles including this one called Pipe Dream. My Chop Zuey folder continues to carry an array of pieces thanks to the Advent calendar -ish Elf. I'm wearing the Labyrinth necklace and Magnum Mysterium earrings from the array of Chop Zuey gifties.

Let Me Look Into My Crystal Ball - Wertina from Winter Market, Analog Dog, Chop Zuey and Lindy
What does the new year bring for each of us? Sometimes I wish I had a crystal ball. When my sons were young and they would ask me some question to which I had no way of knowing because it was either simply information I didn't know or associated with time we hadn't had yet, I would answer, "Let me look into my crystal ball." They grew to laugh at this retort and now they make similar comments if I ask them about time off from work or other details for holidays, in much the same manner I used the phrase in their youth.
Since I don't have one of those balls, but I do have a sixth sense about some things, I feel really positive going into 2015. I think I will have a grand-child, hopefully a grand-daughter, on the way before 2015 ends. No they haven't announced it yet, and its one of those ideas where they both say oh no, we're not ready for that yet (and they're not!!) but I still believe it will be happily on its way before the year 2015 comes to a close. I also believe it's going to be my healthiest year yet since 2004 when my world fell apart at the seams. I have some say in this, obviously, by eating well, doing things that are good for the body and so forth, but also I think other things are affecting me for the better and they're going to keep doing so.
In Second Life, I'm going to get more involved in the business behind the business of modeling. I've always enjoyed the fact that modeling in SL and probably off line too, there are a thousand jobs that must be done for every single 'face' that's out on the runway showing the clothes. I've only begun to explore and have embraced the chance to invest time and talent in several ways and will continue to find ways in 2015. I had thought at one point that I would move away from blogging, and I may yet do so one day but not yet. It's not time yet. I enjoy the connection I have with designers all over the grid and I'm not ready to yield that.
I have a new gown on from Wertina, an item made for the Winter Market Event. I think I'll be sharing Analog Dog hair until sometime next year after the killer sale they had this week! Lindy had an array of patent leather heels with the pointed toe sandal look. And it will certainly be a while to share with you all the beauty of Chop Zuey from the generosity of Belle Roussel.

Chop Zuey Brings a New Design For 2015 Annual Animal Tribute and World Wildlife Foundation Campaign; Lyrical Bizarre Templates News
Words cannot express well the excitement felt when I learned Chop Zuey was carrying on it's tradition of supporting the World Wildlife Fund. As in the past, 100% of the funds go directly to the WWF.
Last year over 600 US were raised and this year, Chop Zuey hopes to raise even more. 2015 Animal Tribute and WWF Campaign begins TODAY! and goes through December 31. When you invest in this beautiful Pure Of Heart Dolphin set, you're doing your part in helping to protect and preserve the animals with which we share this great planet. Chop Zuey presents this gorgeous set just in time for holidays. A gift for a friend, a special gift for yourself? It is an investment in all of our futures, our children's futures and beyond.
Lyrical B!zarre Templates created an array of 'Winter White' items for the KV White Christmas Event that includes this dress aptly named Poof. If there's an event on the grid somewhere, it seems like I see Lyrical Bizarre Templates there. I don't know how she does it!

An Evening At the Met -- Featuring Ghee and October's 4Seasons from the Rue a la Page Event
Top of the morning to you! I've been listening to music that's being performed tonight at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City - an opera called Le Nozze di Figaro.
Why you might ask? It's this beautiful Opera Coat from Ghee that's at the Rue a la Page event this month. It put me in the mood to dress for an evening at the Met.
I did have a mask and even a precious red nose on for a bit of fun in one of the photos, but then captured two others with a more serious gleam.
I hope you enjoy all of them. I'm also privileged to show you the next skin tone for Keiko. Keiko debuted at Rue a la Page this month also, and you can find the original Asian inspired skin here where I am this morning, and you can find the newest skin tone for Keiko at October's 4Seasons. Art comes in so many forms. Today, I'm enjoying the magical blend of many. I hope you will also. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3A7FZUcXDE

Morning Has Broken -- Featuring Zanze and Lindy from Designer Showcase
Before I went over to dance and play this morning, I went fishing in my new Designer Showcase bag and found a heavenly gown by Zanze and new heels from Lindy. The dress is called Eva and has a really feminine touch to it, with a whisper of winter yet to come in a pattern on grey that vaguely brings to mind snowflakes.
And yes, I know some of my friends got snow on Halloween! I declare! (That's something my gramma used to say when she didn't know what else to exclaim, and I suppose it fits sometimes, eh?) The Katie Kinsey shoes are in an old style from the 1940s.
They were danced in often in celebration of the end of a war to end all wars and the reunion of families around the globe. When you wear your Lindy Katie Kinseys, think about how wonderful that must have been. I'm an idealist. I'm me.

What Is An Imaginarium? -- Featuring Whimsical Imaginarium, Lindy's from Designer Showcase, [Z O O M], and Moondance Boutique
I haven't done photos like this for a long time but as a part of something I offered to do for the new Whimsical Imaginarium I decided to go ahead and snap a photo of each dress, and each color option. They're similar but each have their own stylistic flair and fun about them.
Colorful Circles use a snug sweetheart neckline and a blossoming tulip shape upturned for the skirt. Each of the skirts have the same pattern containing the Daffodil, the Lavendar and the Rose hues in the bodice of each dress, but each skirt has it's own character.
Colorful Edges begins with the slimming shape of a tube dress. A skirt with lots of movement flairs around the lower calf in a mermaid-like shape. Additionally, there are bows you can wear at the middle of the back and at the back of the knee to offer even more shape and color options.
Colorful Waves takes a similar tube shape dress and adds skirting on both sides of the hips that reminds me of the shape of bustles by adding volume to the hips and back side. Additionally, you'll find the circle of roses around the hips adds a delicate refined beauty option.
Since all of these gowns are created by the same designer and use the same color palette, you could mix and match the bows and skirts to get many different unique shapes and make the gowns all your own.
I found some nail appliers I didn't know were hidden among jewels I'd shown you another time. Thank you Moondance Boutique! The nails were called something so close to the WI gowns - Colored Lines. How curious, yes?!
Lindy continues to create colorful heels to go with this very colorful fall. In one of the series of photos, the one with the Colorful Waves gowns on it, you can see Karli heels peeking under the skirt in the brilliant pink that so wonderfully suited the three different gown series.
I pulled hair from a box as well, like a magician, not realizing the rabbit was still in there? I don't know. It seems to happen a little more often (and joyfully so... everyone likes pulling on a pair of jeans that has a 5 dollar bill in the pocket!!) because I'm doing more events and the participants add all sorts of items to their entries. ::No:Shade:: created this braided ponytail and even has an option to wear if you like earnestly inflated chest sizes!
I rarely use shades or purse/clutches. I think it's a residual thing from my world off line and items I use and items I don't even own. I don't own a single pair of shades. However, when I pulled out [Z O O M]'s glasses, they really felt 'just right' for my look, with all three gowns, so I went for it. And the clutch in my hand, it also felt right and goes to show, an old girl can learn new tricks from time to time!

A Shoegasm and More -- Featuring Lindy from The Promenade, !Lyrical B!zarre Templates from The Couturier's Docks, Divalicious from DEbRA, ~ghee from .PENUMBRA. Fashion Week, and Chop Zuey
Lyrical B!zarre Templates has a new pair of dresses with two different textures set for each of them at The Couturier's Dock. Please remember that TCD sells limited items, and once they're gone, they're gone, so don't hesitate to scoot on over there and check out this Fidelity Texture B and the others there also!
Another little bit to tease you, coming from DEbRA - also from Divalicious - a Mesh Heart charm bracelet that made me think of the first charm bracelet I had when I was quite young.
I sent Ms. October an IM last night when I saw the shoe box from Lindy, that included these Kinsey Katie shoes as (Rare) items from The Promenade. I told her I'd just received a shoe orgasm. Naughty, but so true! Really. I do love boots and shoes, and boots and shoes, and more boots and shoes. Check out the Gacha and see - no matter what you receive, they're beautiful shoes.
~ghee always makes interesting, colorful, useful, fun items. I've had these fog tights on several times and I couldn't figure out how to make them work with SLink heels, then when I put on the Lindy heels, I cheered. I knew I could wear them! When I looked at Autumn/Winter real world runways 2014, I saw tights were making a huge comeback and helped add layers to the warmer items marketed. These came out as part of ~ghee's .PENUMBRA. Fashion Week items.
How many thousand pieces of jewelry do you think Belle has made for Chop Zuey? It's like, "How do I love thee, let me count the ways." New gifts for members and non-members, spoiling all of us, seasonal pieces, creatively inspired art, all of that and more. The earrings called Gypsy Babe hung down to my shoulders. I resized them so they'd work with the faux turtle neck of the dress and loved the look.

May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor - Baboom! Exclusive at the Hunger Games
Playful and brightly colored are two definitions of what I've seen from Baboom Couture during the Hunger Games event. I've loved the chance to show you the beautiful fun by Kyra Camel.
I've used brighter lips and intentionally 'tinted' hair to a more neon-like color to keep with the theme. I also realized that with the unique bolero she created, and the silver shading at the bodice, then add to that the great plumage of flowers as a head piece and veil, the need for jewelry disappeared. It's one of the few outfits I've ever styled without adding a bit or bauble.
If you haven't had a chance to visit the Hunger Games event, I hope you can, and look for your favorite designers so you can wear exclusives like this long after the party ends and everyone packs up to go home. And may the odds be ever in your favor.

I Need a Hero -- Featuring Wicca's Wardrobe at Gypset; Moondance Boutique, Lindy Shoes and -{ZOZ}- at Designer Showcase, and h.m.a.e.m. at Trempe
I have the jacket from her Nancy Tux on, along with the handbag for the same outfit. These items have been available at Gypset, until the end of July, so hurry! You'll also note new items from h.m.a.e.m. - the Sultana Pants in pink, new items from August's Designer Showcase - Lindy Madlin Black Heels, -{ZOZ}- (omgossshhhh I love ZOZ!!) Basic Polish nails and Moondance Boutique beautiful necklace that has a gorgeous chain in front and also drapes elegantly in back. Since you can't see the back in these photos, I'll use the necklace another time this month to share.
--- Longer Note Follows -- Featuring Heroes and Wicca Merlin Specifically
I celebrate heroes who have impacted my life in a variety of ways. I do this in an internet/virtual world sort of way and also in the world away from the net. These heroes have come along at times in my world where I really needed them, where they really exemplified quality and character, love and compassion, intelligence and direction. These heroes helped create the me that I am today and I know that because life is ever evolving, I haven't met the last hero who will influence my life yet, and I hope I don't for a very long time.
I know she doesn't have a FB name, but she probably has numerous friends and followers and supporters who do know her via this medium. I know she has more on her blog (I'll share her links below) and more in the world we share in Second Life because she's a dynamic model, educator, blogger and above all, friend. Today, I have on some of her items and every time I wear something from Wicca's Wardrobe, I try to think like a Wicca.
Wicca Merlin offers a perspective in modeling that changed the face of pretty in Second Life. She took her sense of self, sense of aesthetic, sense of style and then embodied it. I don't know if she's ever won awards for her amazing work. I do know that I've heard her speak several times and have taken classes where she was the educator. Every time I've been in her company, I've learned something new.
When I say I try to think like Wicca, there's a catch. The thing is, I think that Wicca asserts her will and desire to be different, to break the mold, to do what feels most like self, and though she respects the middle ground, the norm, the whatever many people might call modeling, she acknowledges, and then does what works for her. Thinking like Wicca then means to me... thinking like a me. I see influences all around me. I love a few bloggers and acknowledge their influence. I've had some amazing educators and friends who've helped. Ultimately though, I had to figure out Caryn. I think maybe Wicca might have been the most instrumental in my world related to that topic.
Even if you're new to Miss Virtual World Modeling Academy and you're taking your first class, 101 and you happen to get Ms. Wicca, who will apologize profusely for not speaking English well and then speak it brilliantly for the next hour or so, you will likely see and hear what I mean. Who is this off beat, wonderfully unusual person teaching this class? Am I in the right place? Just because she doesn't look like your canned version of model doesn't mean she's not a great model. I hope many people have a chance to know her, and in that, I hope they have also a chance to know self. If you see that she's speaking somewhere, you should go and listen. And now, because she wasn't already busy enough in SL fashion, she owns her own store and it's awesome too!

Lindy and Dulce Secrets at Designer Showcase, AsHmOoT at Summer Fashion Festival, !Lyrical B!zarre Templates at Lyfe of Style, and NEW from Truth
But even in the midst of family time and that all important binging, I like to make time to poke into our shared world in SL and find a new style in the mix and match of my inventory that showcases elements from around the grid, just like this summer look that seemed to fit the mood of a holiday weekend.
Lyrical B!zarre Templates has a great Sounds Rouge outfit and jewelry as well at Lyfe of Style's sale room, and in these photos I used the jewelry here. I took the glow off and added a little shininess to the objects to make them a little darker to suit the dark reds and blacks in the top and skirt - from AsHmOoT - found at Summer Fashion Festival. The new hair from Truth - Dasha - is one of those styles that I wear all summer long and made me think of home.
Two items are from the Designer Showcase. Remember ** Designer Showcase has moved! The shoes are from Lindy and the eye shadow is new from ::Dulce Secrets::. I hope you're having a mad fun weekend with your special someones and if you're from the US, Happy Fourth!
