I read this week that Justin Bieber wore a shirt that said, "Bigger Than Satan" on the back and I just had to wonder. Even if you're someone who doesn't believe in anything except self, wouldn't you consider wearing something like that to be stirring some sort of energy and isn't the potential that you're stirring not so great energy in your teapot?

I have a very open mind when it comes to faith. It's a very personal thing for me, so I respect your right to your personal choices too. Even those choices that make me wonder. His choice to wear such a shirt, well it's his right to express himself. I've always been the type of person that thought positive energy translates to encouraging others. I just don't know how someone could do that when they were deliberately poking at the darker energy of this world. I imagine there are a kajillion things I don't understand. That's just one of them. Hmmm...

In my own little way, my positive energy gets stirred every time I come here to share something. It may be 'only' a video game but in this video game, I've seen lives changed, hearts mended, and souls soaring. I've seen people with little self esteem able to spread their wings and fly. I've seen something as serious as the fight for the cure and the American Cancer Society, Relay For Life and the in world Fashion For Life crew sponsor an event year after year that raises real money, real awareness and makes a real difference. A Swift Speech - Girl Power!! - Featuring Chop Zuey and [SWANK]: Lyrical Bizarre Templates and

Taylor Swift won the Album Of the Year Grammy for 1989 last night. She'd won it once previously as well, for one of her albums she released during her Country Music phase. I used to watch her on awards shows and think "Stop being so surprised! You earned this." She'd get up, say wow, I didn't think this was possible. Me? Really?

This time, when she won, she got up, a self assured young woman with the world in her grasp. She's the first woman to win the Album Of the Year award twice. She's 26. Her speech showed her growth in the industry. It was still humble, sweet and poignant, but this time, it was such a Girl Power type speech, I was impressed. 

"As the first woman to win album of the year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there: there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you're going, you'll look around and you'll know it was you and the people who love you who put you there and that will be the greatest feeling in the world."

Sometimes it feels like I'm listening to someone speak in another language, even when I'm listening to someone speak English. I'm from the South, USA. I know there are many times I've said something with that southern drawl that others from around the world completely missed what I said, so I know it goes both ways. I love accents too, so I'm a puddle of goo when I hear some people speak. Melt. Drool. Ahhh.

I listened to Jason Derulo's latest chart topping hit, and watched him dance, which is another thing that makes me melt and swoon, and I knew what he was saying but I didn't. It was like he was speaking a new version of English. I'm sure he said, "I'm going to tell you something, only because I love you."  Except it came out a lot more like what I put in my blog title today. Imma Tell Ya Some Only Cuz I Lu You. It's alright though. Language does that morph thing, from corner to corner, across the pond (English, UK style, rocks too!), down the street and across time. If I said a sentence like the southern girls did a hundred years ago, I'm fairly sure I wouldn't understand me either. It's a good thing that music and art and people have another type of language, love and dance and all sorts of things that affect their body language. I might not always get every word, but I'm fairly sure I pick up the meaning.

Clothes speak another language. A casual outfit says something totally different than a look worn into a business meeting, and yet another outfit one chooses for a first date clearly vocalizes still another point of life. Today's look from [SWANK] continues to show the sexy brilliance of red woven through so many of the looks this month. 84 designers with hundreds of products worked their magic for every language of love, passion, friendship, and more. The Passionata dress from DuJour paired with the Miele Rouge boots by (Byrne) - one of this month's gifts found at [SWANK], communicate in a fiery feisty way the mood of the chick kicking it on a brilliant Thursday afternoon, just looking for a little mischief.

My $up3r P0W3r$ - Featuring [SWANK] [R]Allure and Baboom

Super powers have been around for as long as humans have been telling tales, passing down oral tradition and letting the younger generation know what came before theirs. Sometimes it was as simple as retelling a story about a hunt, enlivening the story a bit by exaggeration, the animal so big, the creature so fast, and yet with cunning and creativity, the hunt was yet successful. Ultimately, the super power in a human boiled down to the ability to think through things to overcome obstacles. Rarely did we outclass other species with quickness or strength, but almost always, we could outthink. 

In modern society, much of life is lived within four walls. Our daydreams contain our super powers, the feats it takes to merely get through the day. We tell stories of overcoming adversity, plowing past stereotypes and winning against slurs that hurt. The phrase "what doesn't kill us makes us stronger" remains a truth. Even if much of what we battle seems far removed from those hands on moments of our forefathers, we still muster great personal energy and strength to overcome battles. We still seek within ourselves a super power, an ability to make it in our world.

Fantasy is fun. Seeing through something with X-ray vision or throwing lightning bolts with fingertips entertains us. Media saturates our world with the super-crazy shenanigans of the mighty heroes with those fantastical otherworldly powers and we cheer and root for our favorite. At the end of the day, however, I'm sure that our super powers remain in our ability to think. If more people stopped to do so, perhaps there would be less negative energy to overcome with those real super powers we exert every day. If we didn't have bias according to race and creed, sexual orientation and other stuff that doesn't define anyone honestly, all that thought and energy could go somewhere useful. I maintain that my super power is love. I wish I could say that I had the ability to love unconditionally but I still fail at times. I do my best, however, and think that in those moments when I succeed, I've truly embraced the biggest super power of them all.

This month at [SWANK], designers contributed items according to the theme 50 Shades Of Red. We celebrate St. Valentine's Day and the color red and love. As I continue to style outfits, I continue to think of my super power, and how I might touch my world with it. I'm wearing the new Red Dream dress from Baboom and beautiful Tristan heels from [R]Allure.

We live in an abbreviated world. Everything flies by at the speed of life and sometimes it feels like we have to grab what we can when we can just to survive. Sometimes, though, it's alright to pause, take a deep breath, go for a long walk in the woods or find a place you've never visited and explore it.

Did you know that long before Twitter or Snapchat, the origin of abbreviations like omg and l84 comes from txt messaging on cell phones. Phone plans began including SMS (short message service) as an option in the mid 1990s but every letter of the text cost a few cents and it wouldn't take long at all for texts to cost a bundle, so abbreviations helped save money and time, and the rest is history, as they say.

I love to explore Second Life, find places that are similar to places I'd love to play and visit in my world away from virtual places if I had an unlimited pocketbook and unlimited energy. Sometimes I end up in fantastical places that would never exist in reality, places that make me think of favorite books, favorite far away lands, and places that make me laugh or smile.

When I put together this look, I was surprised by how many pieces from the [SWANK] February event I could find that worked with a gray and blue color palette. Hawker's House has this terrific beanie (with several color hair options to wear) and the high top tennis shoes, both with a muted gray tone. The tied knot top and skirt comes from MARBS, a necklace and bangles pulled from the EDELFABRIK SuperStellar box (there are multiple items in the SuperStellar box including necklace, bangles, heels, stockings and a thong). And lastly the gems from Indulge Temptations Diva design round out the overall style.

Is It Just Pillow Talk - A Paradise Or a War Zone - [SWANK]: LIZIAAH and Luminesse

We don't have to go far to find our paradise or our war zone. And sometimes we find both in the same place with the same person. Do you ever notice how much more you argue, fuss and fight with the ones you love most? I do.

This month, [SWANK] brings the theme 50 Shades of Red. To me, that's like the fifty shades of passion I feel when I'm with my very best... friend, lover, bestie... passion comes in so many shades.

The metallic mesh corset from LIZIAAH made me think 'armor', the fantasy armor that does no more to protect us than the armor we try to wrap round our heart when we're in the middle of those passionate moments. Is it a paradise or a war zone? Either way, it's always going to be intense. Because it matters. We don't fight with strangers so much because we just don't care. Teardrop like earrings in a rose hue dangle from my ears, Luminesse Linza set comes with earrings and matching necklace, like those drops of moisture that seethe from my eyes when it matters.

I love the new Slink hourglass body. I actually like several of the mesh bodies that came to fruition while I was away last year. 11 months is a VERY long time in SL years. It ages more quickly than dogs do. I own three bodies but I've only used the Slink because it has the most applications for what was already in my inventory and what's being produced by the people out there doing the designs in the greatest quantity and quality that I've yet seen. I could be corrected and learn more and new tidbits tomorrow, however, so stay tuned. I could love Eve and Maitreya equally as well, and just not have a great deal of exposure to them yet. 

All in good time. Despite being gone a year, and feeling the need to catch up on so much all at once, I'm determined to stroll and enjoy the walk, to see and inhale and enjoy the details. Life is beautiful and meant to be savored one rose petal at a time. And believe it or not, I think we're meant to savor the dark moments as well because without them, we wouldn't know how glorious a sunset or a rose in bloom really is.

The skins at October's 4Seasons look yummy on the Slink body. This one came out last year, as part of the holidays, and oh la la, perfect for a bedroom steamy eyes sultry come and get me photo. Uh huh!

Lushish Catz sounds a little naughty, just saying the name of the store. Fun! The appliers work on the Omega, which opens the door for a lot of mesh body application, a separate application for Slink and another for TMP. No matter how you slice it, you end up dressed - or undressed in this case - to entice!

Brii Underground and Playfull Mesh have a HUGE warehouse of ideas and options and this designer must work days, nights, weekends and holidays to create as much as appears on a regular basis. "Til Death" earrings come from a complete outfit. Even if you shop an exclusive number of stores for your work in SL Fashion, knowing a few places to find accessories and tidbits that aren't in that circle of shops might be of value. Every little detail counts.

Rip Van Winkling No More - Featuring Zoom, [Juno] Poses, [noname], Damn&Sweet

I put together a number of outfits today before finally taking a few photos. The learning curve to style and photograph myself in years past seems to have fallen like old buildings unused while I was away tending to medical needs. My hope is, though it's not like riding a bicycle, it will come back to me more quickly than I learned it the first time.

I worked on pictures and stylings constantly for more than three years, and this past year, 11 of the 12 months of 2015, I simply could not. I'm so glad to be back, to be sharing my ideas and putting time and energy into blogging once more. It makes me feel whole. I might look like a 5th grader instead of a college student, on the learning curve where I am now, but at least I'm no longer Rip Van Winkle!

Let It Snow - A Fantasy Adventure - Featuring NuNu's, JK Style, and Baubles By Phe

One of the things that relaxes me most - shopping in the virtual world of Second Life. A long time ago, I learned that both shopping for Barbie (my dressed up avatar) and styling Barbie could provide distraction and even more, create a small window of a world where I could run and jump and play, yet stay exactly where I was in the world. I've seen several great photos snapped recently in what looked like 'snowglobe' scenes and decided I'd enjoy that immensely.

I set out to create a snowglobe feeling, picking the Juliete Coat from JK Style as the basic center of the look. You can get the coat at JK this month free, and free is always good, as a Group Gift and as a gift from the SLF&O group. One coat is grey, shown in the photo, and the other free coat is a wonderful soft brown tint. Adding earmuffs and gloves, from Argrace and Oddity respectively, I was able to bundle up in my little snow world.

I know it's unlikely to wear sandals with straps in the dead of winter, but I have virtually unfreezable toes in this magical winterverse and the new heels from JK Style had a playful quality to them, also color change options, that I just felt beckoned me to wear them.

It's rare for me to go for fantasy skins but this month I accidentally discovered a place called NuNu's and got 5 different fantasy skins from there for free. This one is called Lumis Lumiere, casting a soft gold and silver tint to the overall look. When Dreams Come - Loovus Dzevavor at The Couturier's Docks, Belod and New Gifts from Chop Zuey

Dreams come and go, but hopefully you have the chance to grasp hold of them, hold on to them, treasure them... as you go by this wild and crazy life. Each time a door closes, another door opens.

I find that to be true in my world off line and in this world I share with you, a virtual world that's come to be my heart and hope and in many ways my salvation. It's not all that melodramatic, but it is sincere. Every time I sit with my laptop on my lap and work on a project for this or that, or style a new outfit from somewhere, I'm happily distracted, and it's a much healthier drug than those I've taken in the past to overcome the pain that accompanies kidney disease. So you see, each of you, and every letter I type and color I paint does in some special way save me from the day's angst. It is why every single time I write a blog or share something here or other social media, I say a special thank you to each of you for touching my world, enhancing it, and making it so much better.

I sent Ms. Vikeejeah a thank you from the bottom of my heart when she shared this month's Couturier's Docks item from Loovus Dzevavor. A limited number of these items are sold from a variety of designers. It's imperative you go early and grab what you love before they're gone. This coat is called the Chase Coat in Almond. It gave me that bundled up with love feeling, warm and ready to go. I paired two of Chop Zuey's special festivity of gifting items, The Little Snowgirl Earrings and Anchor Of My Soul Necklace and a pair of heels from Belod that offer the option of wearing tights with or not wearing them. I chose the wearing tights option for my photo. I loved styling something from Loovus Dzevavor and can't thank Ms. Belle at Chop Zuey enough for all her gifts this holiday. Wow. Life is beautiful.

A Walking Christmas Fantasy - Baboom Couture and Chop Zue

Just when I thought the black Avant Garde style gown that Baboom Couture released showcased the epitome of the designer, Ms. Kyra Camel, and all her talents, I pulled on a Christmas gown and just felt like a Christmas princess. The layers options for the gown begin with the simplicity of a maroon tint but that's just the beginning. A shiny skirt that sweeps over the maroon billows of fabric adds brilliance. Yet there's even more going on from the hips down... as an optional third skirt layer provides you with lit candles. Mistletoe and holly options may fit round the waist of the gown, another around the bust.

There are also hair ornaments to choose, either the holly or the mistletoe, or you can combine both. The stole around the shoulders is partially transparent, making it look and feel expensive. Another option tying the outfit together from head to toe is the folded collar with holiday colors and decor on the collar that matches patterns elsewhere seen on the gown. I could dream about a prince charming to come and whisk me away to the edge of imagination itself while wearing this gown.

Countdown to Christmas continues at a number of stores including Chop Zuey and in this gown, I paired Elephantus Maximus. It's one of the beautiful gifts that Belle has put out to spoil everyone with this season. Thank you, Belle!

Oh So Naughty, Sexxxy and Fun - Paisley Daisy's Peace On Earth Hunt 7 (POE 7) and Carrie's Lingerie

My latest look comes from two exceptionally sexy designs put together; also shown separate from one another.

Paisley Daisy has a shear Snowflake Gown as it's contribution to the Peace On Earth Hunt 7 (POE 7). There's absolutely nothing hidden when wearing the lacy frock. Depending on your tastes and style, you could really make a special someone very happy to see you. Is it formal? I don't know. You tell me. It's about the naughtiest full length gown I've ever worn!

Carrie's Lingerie created a world of holiday magic for it's customers and pulled out the best of the best for the VIP special section. If you have not ever visited Carrie's, I really encourage you to do so. There are items for men and women. No matter what, your special someone should find you extra sizzling hot to trot in Carrie's designs. Avi Choice created a shopping space this year dedicated to the designers who'd been nominated, and Carrie's was there. Under the tree, an original holiday design was free for the touching, this shear holiday version of Malorie. In it's original form, Malorie breathed sexy, but with the special holiday colors, it's even more able to do so.

It's difficult to catch on a virtual world camera the fact that the white flower from Paisley Daisy that I wore on my head with a puff of roses as well to compliment the lace and the lingerie, it snows. Small specks of snow followed me wherever I ventured, like a little snow cloud that was all my own. This clever little bit of accessory brought a big smile!
