I Love You - Featuring Snowpaws from debra Event, Featuring October's 4Seasons

I was going to start this next note with the words, "I love Carrie Snowpaw" but then I thought you attentive readers might think I say those words so much, how could they be meaningful. I've been doing this thing I do for over two and a half years and a few of the people I met go back that far and have become precious to me, not just because they're excellent artists, great business women and men, not just because I've worked with them, but because they're also terrific friends. Carrie would give you the shirt off her back, not a sexy second life type shirt. She would just do anything to help a friend. That sort of personality makes it impossible for me NOT to love her. So, I love Carrie Snowpaw.

This new pant suit Adele was created to support a new charity event that begins in October. It's a disease I'm far less familiar with but learning as I read about debra and the team of people who have joined together to help raise awareness (they taught me something new and maybe I can do the same to share with others so it's working!!) and financial resources to help those who have it. Today, Facebook updated the page, October's 4Seasons and we march forward! I'm happy to be a 4Seasons Beauty, a model who committed to wearing her skins exclusively, and look at this - This new Angelina Face PLUS a brand new skin tone, Milk. So now there's a bakers dozen skin tones to choose from and more teases and temptations for you at 4Seasons. ~shuts the door~ Okay, the door closed, Ms. O, and look, that spectacular window over there, it's wide open and you're taking your business through it. One of her collections called the Seven Deadly Sins called to mind all of the sins mentioned in Dante's Inferno. What a Difference a Day Makes -- Featuring [[Masoom]], Hairoin, {{BSD Design Studio}} and Luziefee

It's really quite amazing how time works for us humans. We can each experience the same 24 hours and yet have such different things happen that your 24 hours may have seemed to last forever and mine flew by...

There's definitely an edge of competitiveness encouraged in the fashion industry in our Second Life. It likely mirror's much the same that occurs in our first life, but we're not as plugged in there so we can only surmise. In the spirit of competition, sometimes we wait for news we want so badly to hear.

Yet when someone appears, with the news we've awaited, we're not so sure we want to hear it. Acceptance letters to college... who won Season 10 So You Think You Can Dance... who made it to the next level as a surgeon or an athlete. We pour our hearts into things, and then we finally hear.

When I finally hear news and it's not what I hoped to hear, that period of time after feels empty. It's as if there was a possibility that I did not exist in any concrete world. I get lost in my head. I relive the moments, replay the choices, review and review and analyze. I lose track of time in the aftermath.

I'm not sure it always makes sense to me. I try to make sense out of everything around me, and as it comes at me, sometimes I'm juggling too much data at once and my whole 'me' breaks down. I really do need empty time, crash time, rejuvenate and renew time.

When we eagerly wait for news and we realize that there are such serious situations in our world, sometimes we laugh nervously, wondering if we're making too much of something when all this seriousness surrounds us.

Our world is filled to the rim with daily things. We're not trite when we focus on the details that make us smile. We're human. I'm well aware that my past 24 hours has been mostly amazing, and someone else's may have been traumatic with lots of unanswered questions. I do prioritize.

Life happens too quickly and escapes us just as quickly for us to get bogged down in the quagmire of ultra-serious all the time. I give myself permission to have fun, to want for little things and dream for big ones. It really doesn't matter where you are in life, the saying remains true, "What a difference a day makes."

I had fun styling a very casual outfit today. Luzifee's Nancy top and pants come separately and there are a number of colors. With the snazzy {{BSD Design Studio}} special heels from Couturier's Dock, I spiced up the casual with that bold red. Elenora, a gown shown here from [[Masoom]] offers a set of jewelry with it as well as unique flattering little bits of gold off the shoulder that made me think of hundred's of late summer's end fireflies lighting my evening.

Sitting Pretty -- Featuring Zanze, KMADD, A.F.I Designs, and KL Couture

It's one of those phrases that seemed to be used a lot when I was growing up, "Sit Pretty." It meant to behave like a little lady, even if I were only 5 or 6. I knew what it meant and for the most part, the sitting wasn't so hard on me, I could sit and be still for hours.

"Sit Pretty" did not just mean sit still. It also meant to stop talking. That was my huge challenge all the time. I thought there were far too many places in the world where a little precocious girl had to go and be still and silent. Waaay too many.

I was fortunate enough to have two very unique Grandmothers. They'd each pioneered into the work force during a time that unless you were desperate or hungry or your family unable to have its needs met, a woman simply did not take a job outside her home. Being a home maker WAS the job.

These two women were such inspiration on many subjects. I'm not sure I ever quite lived up to the still and pretty and quiet little girl, but I did gain insight from their lifetime and their experiences that made it easier for me to learn and process my lifetime. One of the things they each offered were tales about their own childhood.

Rules have evolved a great deal in the 100 years since they were born. It's rare for a gaggle of 8 young daughters to have to sit in the parlor all afternoon on a Sunday in our current age, but when my Gramma was growing up, her father would seat his daughters around him and keep a stern eye watching constantly. If one of them chirped or whispered, he would growl sternly and tell them to shut up and knit.

The elements in Second Life that allow us to express such diverse lifestyle choices, edgy fun and dramatic beauty provide a little something for everyone. Zanze's new Melody Dress (top two photos) show an elegant side of my personality. Then there is the wicked wild look created from new items from KL Couture. The hair from KMADD and the sneakers from A.F.I Designs round out the fierce side of me.

Before I forget, I wanted to mention a birthday celebration A.F.I had for her birthday in Second Life. I attended and loved the socializing. I had a great dance partner, a fella named Peter. I've never been to a party where the birthday girl or guy gives their guests presents, but that's what happened. The new hair and shoes are a part of the gifties I received. How thoughtful! You know the type. Negative nillies. It really doesn't matter what's happening in his or her life; life just ends up wrong. Sometimes these negative focused personalities can be a little bit energy hungry, plugging in to anyone who will feed them energy by pausing to buy into whatever the latest tragedy is.

Once in a while, everyone has a rough day or a difficult week. It's wonderful to have friendships that weather the test of time and the ups and downs and curve balls we have to manage. It's definitely more easily accomplished when you have a wonderful support system.

It's when it's chronic that it gets dangerous. It's not healthy for the person who wallows in their own mire of darkness and depression. It's also not healthy for the people around them who attempt to help pull them up and out of the murky mess.

What I find most difficult is letting go, and not making time for any more pain. I want to give chance after chance for someone to heal, to change, to grow into a better person. Eventually, I have to pause and say, "I can't listen to this right now. I haven't got time for the pain." Even typing it here as I think about those times I finally did have to say something similar still makes me feel anxious and worried. I feel responsible.

It's never going to be my nature to turn people away when they come to me. If they come with a defeated attitude, already sure they're a super huge failure, and I've had such discussions with them in the past, I offer a sincere hug, a smile, a bit of 'catching up' talk, then I get busy in my world. I enjoy the part of life that shimmers like a bar of gold and shines like a bit of silver.
