Honesty With Sabra Style, Honestly! Also BOABA

A monochromatic layout for someone who's anything but... Kylie Sabra and Sabra Style - Second Life Fashion have a beautiful vantage point and in that sense of beauty creations she makes always make me feel elegant, refined and something better than myself. When someone can do that, it makes the thing they do that much more special. It's difficult to put into words. Maybe it could happen in the world off line if I got to meet Michael Kors or Vera Wang and then had an item from their collection and got to wear it and then got to talk about it, blog it, tweet it, and every other way to shout out to the world, this thing I got to do was radical fun and this person I met made it better than fun! That's not likely to happen in my world off line but I'm blessed beyond words that it does happen to me in my Second Life.

That girl right there, the amazing one who works on so many projects in Second Life that have meaning, who creates clothing, who pauses to say hi, how are you feeling, in the throng of her busy crazy day, that's one of those girls I adore and thrill at sharing her wares. Honesty in Gold. Honesty is such an intense name for a dress, but in this case, it's perfect. I paired with a hat that BAOBA shared with me some recent weeks ago called Delicacy Yellow and finally found a time I could wear October's 4Seasons metallic Copper Lips.

All About the Contestants -- Sabra Style and Analog Dog

This afternoon was all about the contestants for the first Miss SL competition so I chose something deliberately casual, something I could imagine me wearing as I took photographs of famous people at a gathering in reality.
I thought I'd run into Kylie Sabra this afternoon during the auditions because of her closeness to those involved in the Miss SL Organization so I chose some of her items deliberately to whisper thanks in my own quiet way... (and she was there!)... Two photos show the completed look I wore to the event.

Lots Of Pictures, Lots Of Beauty, Lots of Fun -- Featuring Sabra Style November Releases, Featuring Truth Sian

Kylie Sabra has an array of hats she wears, and everything she does, she attacks with passion and energy and influences the world around her as a result. Besides being a tremendous designer, she works in one of the finest Art Galleries on the grid as curator, the Rose Theater Art Galleries. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Angel%20Manor/106/154/29
I've had the joy of spending time with her, in public spheres and private spheres and I admire everything she touches. The clothing collage I put together displays an array of items she's created and has for sale this month at Sabra Style. I don't know how she manages to keep up with everything, but look at how well she does!
If you've never visited the gallery, I encourage you to go. Are you an artist? You should drop her a note card. Have you seen her collection of clothing she's created? You must go. When someone works with as much passion as she exhibits, you know that you're going to love something if not everything there is to love about what she does. Visit. See. Invest. Enjoy!

Are You Ready For Holidays? -- Featuring Sabra Style, -LOUX- and E C R U from Designer Showcase; Featuring Zibska and PosESioN from The Instruments

Some years, I truly struggle with the emotion of the holidays and by November 3, I'm buried somewhere down deep inside myself and bracing for the storm of the supposed "HAPPY" holidays that sometimes seem so far away from reality. It's something significant and not something only I struggle with, so I hope as you read this, if you know others who do, you might be a breath of gentle air, a warm hug, a cup of hot cider, a blessing of hope, and then just wait, and be there, because those of us who've learned how to hibernate through emotional seasons also wake. They'll want you there when they do wake and they will remember your touch and heart while they couldn't respond to you.
So I went over to a Winter Sim and found some precious displays and this little snowman standing in his own huge snowfall caught my eye. I know it's a bit early to think of Merry Christmas, but it's not too early to think of love, a love to touch the whole world, regardless of faith, and peace, enough to spread like a fire, and bring a calmness like the snow to every single of the 8 billion souls you'll find out there this year.
I'm wearing a new Charisma gown in red from Kylie Sabra at Sabra Style. You'll also find E C R U Ritz Heels and this bold yet elegant luscious new  lipstick from -LOUX- both at Designer Showcase
, excellent deals, and every new month that passes brings multiple reasons to return to enjoy this sale venue. Also, new Zibska Kelda jewely and the poses I used from PosESioN come from The Instruments event, for the November rotation.
Lots of beauty, and a breathless dream of hope and love and joy for each of you as we do brace for winter together.

The Talented Kylie Sabra -- Featuring Sabra Style and Zibska - On Location At the Rose Gallery at Angel Manor

I visited Angel Manor's Rose Gallery this evening to take these photos. I did so because Kylie Sabra works as curator of the Gallery, which currently has several artists displayed, and the painter of the pictures, including the piece of photo behind me in the pictures. It shows what an incredibly artistic person she is.
The outfit she created included a gown, Rose Gallery Artist Series Cullum Writer BX, with flourishing flexible skirts, and a waist band of lovely flower blooms. Along with the other items, I found SLink nail appliers also painted with a design to go with the overall outfit. Alone or worn with this gown, they're tiny bits of beautiful art.
I did change out her waist decor for something unusual to keep with the autumn theme and to make the look unique. Instead of using her floral arrangement, I used Zibska's new Corbin headpiece, and wore that headpiece at my waist. You can find Zibska's new headpiece at The Instruments.

Super SCARYN - Featuring Sabra Style, Dark Horse Style, AsHmOoT from the Promenade, !Lyrical B!zarre Templates from Four Seasons Market and Dulce Secrets from Designer Showcase

I just want to be a super hero. Of course, every good one has a great costume. A month of costumes, but today, I pulled on a collection of items from different designers and ended up with Super Caryn. Sabra Style's Old London Coat made a perfect 'super hero girl cape' for today. AsHmOoT created an entire outfit for The Promenade, and from the set, I pulled on their Coll boots and leggings. I'm pretty sure tights/leggings are a must for super heroes and boots as well. !Lyrical B!zarre Templates provided the skin hugging mini dress under the coat, with a bra and skirt and shear layer between the two.
I know heroines do not need to enhance their chest area to fight crime more intensely but I also don't know of a single one who doesn't do so anyway! At Designer Showcase this month, Dulce Secrets put together a box of mesh eyes. Not a soul in our universe has pink eyes that I know of, but to have pink eyes as part of the costume; that makes sense. Lastly, I have more nails to show from Dark Horse Style. Be ware, though. These nails have been treated with just the right amount of venom to render any criminal paralyzed long enough that I might capture them and bring them home to justice!
My name will change for the duration of the month of October to SCARYN.
Just a nudge to help you find me in your list...

Costumes and Fun -- Featuring A.F.I Designs, Sabra Style, Chop Zuey, Dark Horse Style; :{MV}: from the Promenade

This compilation began with a new look from A.F.I Designs called SheWonka. It's the time of year when designers from all over the place put a lot of fun into their already great work. It comes with a tiny Wonka top hat that I decided not to use. I pulled on a pair of dark purple Moira slacks from a new release from Sabra Style. The earrings sparkle brightly the talent of Belle and Chop Zuey.
More new nails to show you, thanks to the opening of the store Dark Horse Style, this time Gold Stripe Polka Dot Dark. A mouthful but beautiful on the hands. Beautiful sandals from :{MV}: called Liberty come from the Promenade. I have fun with every new outfit I get to put together but I do love the fun frivolity of Halloween.

Team Fox and a Great Charity Event -- Featuring Sabra Style

My greatest passion amidst the passion I have for the fashion business in Second Life is how well and often this community of people participate in and celebrate and donate to charities. Today, at the LeFevre Mansion, I got to see some of the most beautiful models on the grid from BLVD rock the runway in an array of designs that were on display purely to raise finances for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's.

To donate directly follow this link please: https://www.michaeljfox.org/get-involved/donation.php?fr_id=2380
At the LeFevre Manshion
Artizana Ethnic Couture, Blue Moon Enterprises, Dot-be fashion, Image Factory in Second Life, Sabra Style, Soul Designs, and Surplus Motors donated the items used in the fashion show with 100% of the proceeds donated going to the charity.
A Wonderful Reason To Celebrate
I looked in my little folder of "Blog Me" for a design by one of the designers represented at the event to show my support. (Not the designs shown that day but items I might have to blog from them from other places, other times, just to clarify...) I found Vivienne in Gold from Sabra Style by Kylie Sabra. I got to sit with her at the event, which made it even more special, and cheered on her many contributions as the BLVD models showcased them, and she and I both found the designs presented by the other designers in the show fantastic and cheered for them as well.

It's really hard for me to step out of my little work zone and go anywhere, really. I'm far more shy than many of you might have imagined, and the anxiety of 'I won't know anyone.' follows me whenever I do gather my wits and put on my brave face. Once I arrive, I'm usually so glad I made the effort to attend, but it's the making myself go part that I have to overcome. Events occurred all afternoon as part of this program, two fashion shows, live music, DJ music, and more. I attended the first fashion show and heard one of the musicians play. I even got to dance for a bit, after poking in IM and asking if he liked to dance, would he dance with a stranger.

Marcus LeFevre and his team, Team Fox and all of their representatives, and everyone else responsible for making the event possible made it beautiful as well.

To Sparkling -- Featuring Sabra Style, Chop Zuey and Two Designers From .PENUMBRA. Fashion Week: Luna Body Art and Vanity House of Designs

From two designers who both have items out for .PENUMBRA. Fashion week, new nail appliers from Luna Body Art and a new purse and heels from Vanity House of Designs, I began to puzzle together this casual compilation. There are likely thousands of different styles for nail application out there now. Instead of tons of duplication, which I see happens often in the 'real' world, each new set I try has a different appeal like this new set from Luna.
I have shared a few items from Sabra Style with you previously and today, I have a casual top and jeans set. I've worked with a number of gowns and dresses. It was great to have something less dressy. I particularly liked the ribbed weave infused into the texture created for the top. I lived in Florida for a little more than 10 years and something sleeveless yet knit at this time of year would be just perfect for a walk down the beach.
Chop Zuey... have you been there recently? I don't know how she does it, but Belle always has new fresh items for us, seasonal items, special holiday weekend items, gems and jewelry of every possible color and setting I could imagine in a hundred years, and still, when I visit, I see something new. My passion for fresh and innovative ideas is equaled and excels at Chop Zuey. Every now and then, I get little items from her gift area, and if you've never visited Chop Zuey, you don't know how generous she can be about gifts which is a travesty because EVERYONE should know. I couldn't figure out how to use the Beaujolais barrettes in the styles of hair I had but I realized if I added them to my top, I could create a leaf-like brooch. Many of her pieces, I wear exactly as they were created, but on the occasion that I repurpose the items, I'm grateful for the broad use, and the generosity of a designer who makes my life sparkle... Literally!

A New Designer On My Radar - Sabra Style - and the Ever Glorious Chop Zuey

Every so often I receive an item from Kylie Sabra at Sabra Style. I wasn't sure how I got on her radar, but I was happy to be there and enjoyed the array of items she sent for me to review. I've done three other items from her shop (found in the Renaissance Galleria), and tonight I styled KellyAnn in fuschia. My favorite part of this dress is the mesh slinky sleeves. I really enjoy seeing new ways mesh has been adapted by different designers to create a wide vision of art.
I popped into her store to get a sense of it's layout, her array of items to be bought, and her general aesthetic. There are multiple colors of some items, just like KellyAnn, so you have the opportunity to find something that suits your skin tone and color wheel as well as your personal tastes.
Chop Zuey by Belle Roussel has the most beautiful collection of necklace, earring, bracelet (not shown in photo) and a ring, done with a white gold backdrop and a variety of precious gem stones. I've chosen Garnet for these photos and will show you some of the other stones in other photos in the coming days so you can get good look at the quality and artistry that always exists at Chop Zuey!

A Beautiful Distraction -- Sabra Style

I distracted myself while Second Life was making me nuts. Okay, yes, I admit, I'm already nuts, but sometimes SL exacerbates my nuttiness. I couldn't get some pieces of some outfits to rez, unless I was an Eve avi, and that just isn't quite fashionable these days. If ever???
So I put together this look with a new release from Sabra Style. I'm not sure how I got on her dropbox list, but it really brought a smile when she randomly added me and I began to receive review copies. I knew the quality was high and would go well with my Octopussy Set from Chop Zuey, and at the time, I was dressing so I could model at Chop Zuey for a while.
Everything I've put on from Sabra Style offers a chic beauty, a crisp casual air or an elegant refinement, and sometimes a little bit of all of the above. The lavender gown called Ashley suited my needs perfectly. I enjoyed styling it, wearing it for a while as a store model, then setting up a few frames for photos to show you.

Fairytales Can Come True; They Can Happen To You -- Featuring Sabra Style, {{BSD Design Studio}} and Wicca's Wardrobe

What a difference a day makes. I'm not one who gets too tied into a specific day because I've had health issues that were indiscriminatory as the good or not so good days happened every day, special days, regular day, it didn't matter. It means I grew up learning to be flexible and also to make the best of the good moments so that when another dark valley swooped in for a few weeks or days or months, I'd have something warm and wonderful stored up in memory, close to my heart; I used those positive memories to support me. This week was part of our annual beach trip. In recent years, I've traveled and stayed in one place for two weeks consecutively. Unfortunately, the military status and leave and all that jazz is slightly different at the moment, so I'm at Myrtle this week and this time next month, I'll be at Taibee Island Georgia. I love getting away from the same four walls, even when I'm not in the best of health or head space. I also know it helps my sweetheart. I was unplugged for a bit more than 24 hours this year, just to make sure he knew he was the heart and soul of my life, and nothing was more important than him and his special day. We ate well, played well, went to see the One Show tonight, and then he's snoring and I'm writing briefly to each of you on Facebook.
It's never too late to keep up with family and friends. It's never too late to have a small vacation. An actress on one of the day time talk shows commented about making time for 'me parties'. She just put on her favorite pj's, had wine, listened to her favorite music and even danced. Sometimes we need a me party and sometimes, like today, I needed a we party. I think he does an amazing job of taking care of the details. My thought patters get terribly crossed, and not intentionally so. But when I can put aside my needs and stresses that I seem to heap on his head, I think he really does try to relax and enjoy a day all about him.
I had fun the day before yesterday putting this latest 'spy girl' look. Once dressed, I thought about the story of Black Bart and his cronies who were trying to come across the back yard of the little fella on A Christmas Story. The traditional mask paired with the black and white stripes of prison uniforms in that time period. I could have snuck away with something. I'm just not sure what I would want to take. I'd make a very bad cat burglar. I'm sure I'd sit and enie-meanie-minie-moe and my partners in crime would shake there heads and whisper as loud a whisper as possible, "Let's Go Karyn!" The Tori gown in black and white and encircled at the ankles with mounds of dark swan feathers comes from Sabra Style. The mask comes from the always clever Wicca Merlin at Wicca's Wardrobe. You'll notice a small pink bag, over the shoulder. From BSD Design studio, this bag comes with color change options on a HUD allowing you to make it suit any style and interest.

All the joy of this blog and style come as a result of a compilation of talented designers:

The Month of Games and KL Couture -- Plus New From Sabra Style

I love it when something takes me back to good childhood memories. One of those things is the scent of cotton candy. I'm still a candy-a-holic to this day. I probably consume enough candy that it should be considered one of Caryn's 4 food groups. When I learned that The Month of Games, sponsored by Siren Productions, would feature three games and one of them was Candyland, I knew I was in for a delicious calorie-less treat. You can't gain weight if you nibble at candy in Second Life. Promise!
The dress with the pale pink ruffle and bow at the back comes from KL Couture. I splashed a lot more color, all around, and had to go with the cotton candy type hair, though it's originally a head piece from Lyrical B!zarre Templates. The fan skirt and shoulder are the same piece copied and one repurposed so that it matched, comes from Sabra Style Amelia Evening gown. It's beautiful, and I thought the brilliant purple plumes would suit the overall theme of indulgence in my ever avid sweet tooth.
You'll find a plethora of fun beginning July 12th, running through the 31st at The Month of Games. Along with Siren Productions, AIM, BOSL, Boulevard, Culture Magazine, Designing SL, ModeLS Magazine, SCALA, SL Live Radio, and Versus Magazine all combined efforts to produce this fabulous event. With designers galore and each designer styling 3 exclusive pieces, one for each game chosen, you'll find something to love and loads of summer memories from childhood flickering. Candyland, Clue and Chess have been chosen and those exclusive pieces will each represent something from each game. If you would like more information, you can follow this link: http://sirenproductionsl.com/month-games-coming/
