It's Not Over -- Featuring EMO-tions, Essenze at Designer Showcase, !Lyrical B!zarre Templates at Art in Hats, and [AD] - Angels and Demos

Designer Showcase comes around new every month with new temptations, and new ideas from designers you might recognize and sometimes designers who you've never seen previously. The shoes from Essenz have a color change HUD so you get 6 tones for the price of one pair of shoes and at a reduced price because it's a sale room. They have a range of colors that will work with every season as well. **Important News Designer Showcase has moved: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Corrupted%20Innocence/163/57/23
I got so invested in the project earlier this Spring put together by the team at SAVIAD that I had the choice to pick a few items I'd like to blog as a 'prize' and still have a few of those items. This Louise dress from [AD] Angels and Demons was one of my choices. I liked it's elegant texturing and the fact that it was a knee length skirt. Not too fancy, not too casual and tres chic. New hair and jewelry from EMO-tions, the hair called Roxeanne and the jewelry called Beloved come as the last pieces from my blogging for EMO-tions specifically and as I work through all the pieces from each designer who'd helped make my blog successful, I counted each piece with the joy that designer brought. Mirja Mills keeps her products up to date, with fashion and with what crafters can do in SL.
The little mesh pieces of the hat from Art in Hats by Lyrical B!zarre Templates seem to flutter away, almost like little life critters instead of a simple hat. At water's edge, with a sea breeze, it's easy to see why they would lift off and try to fly. I really enjoy Lyrical Bizarre's ability to take an idea in 2d and build it in different programs that I cannot follow for the life of me, like Greek only worse! then makes the most fascinating shapes and fashion for us to try as a result. This hat is but one small example of that.

My deep felt thanks for each designer who supplied items to make this blog possible:

Angels and Demons and Sandra Backlund - Featuring [AD], From Fashion for Life: HOLLYHOOD, and !Lyrical B!zarre Templates

Angels and Demons creates some of the most unique things I've yet worn to date like this Twink Mesh Dress. I paused to really think about the person who might wear such a gown. The first thing I did was reference Avant Garde in the search bar Google provides, ticking off Images, so I could see a whole wide array of looks, to see if something like this was out there, in our world, and where.
Sandra Backlund graduated in 2004 at Beckmans Design University in Stockholm and created her eponymous brand in the same year. In 2007 she won the Hyères International Festival and, in the following year, she was chosen by Franca Sozzani (editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia), as a protégé for a fashion fund. In 2009, she won the NextGen sponsorship, awarded by the British Fashion Council. She's the designer of the 'real life gown' I'm sharing here.
Someone who wears such a gown could be at a charity fund raiser, putting on the ritz so to speak in NYC. She could attend a black tie affair, a new artists debut in a little gallery in Soho, thought the dress could spoil the show, making the woman more interesting than the art. That would be a social no-no, or the making of a high fashion model, or probably both.
HOLLYHOOD entered Fashion For Life with a wide array of SLink compatible heels and this brilliant hot pink pair shows one design and color. With the black palate, I thought one bright color to pop would be fun. With all the sculpting of pieces in the gown, I knew jewelry could get lost in the mix, but the hairpiece from Lyrical B!zarre Templates worked well. I also have on earrings and a bracelet from Chop Zuey.

I'm grateful to each designer who made my style possible:

It Started With a Pair Of Glasses from [AD] -- Featuring [AD] and Swallow from Couturier's Docks, HOLLYHOOD from FASHIONART Faire, and [Liv-Glam]

A very unique pair of glasses from [AD] motivated me to this style. I had to find pieces that would work with the glasses and not cover them up. They actually have the standard bar that wraps around the ear but then they have those interesting wings that made me think of a librarian meet goth chic style. In our world, anything goes, yes? Liv-Glam creates textures continually that make the mesh 'anything' look perfect for the cut, the style, and the use for such a dress or pant suit or whatever comes next. This knee length sleeveless summer dress captivates with large print with primary pattern pieces on a color HUD so you have several outfits in one.
I look at designers' blogs when I style for them the first few times, and because I got to work alongside the creators at Liv-Glam early on in my experience as a blogger model, I got to see how they viewed the finished product. Unique pieces of jewelry, glasses, and bags are often in their photos. I tried to go with their overall aesthetic. Swallow Skin and Accessory Second Life has new jewelry at The Couturier's Docks this month, and I wanted to use several of the pieces with this. If you hurry over to the docks, you'll see the many other little Safari items included in the box, and hopefully find yourself inspired to find your inner rawr! I took one of the earrings and pinned it to the glasses to pull the items together, but wearing together or separately, they're deliciously different bits of art.
Normally, after I've posted one item from an event, I move on to other items. There could be 5 or 8 dresses and gowns, but only 1 shoe designer presented, or only one jewelry designer participating, and the same can happen with pose creators. Rather than go to items I've already used, I'll focus on those 5 or 8 dresses at different times during the event's duration, and I'll pull one pair of shoes from the shoe designer for one gown and later, another pair of shoes from them also. HOLLYHOOD has shoes and clothing at FASHIONART Faire, and all of it is fantastic. The shoes seen here are Twisted SLink applier heels. I loved the tan stitching across the black leather.
Different times I'm motivated by different things, which makes sense I imagine, as artists would say the same, painting, writing, drawing, pixels, whatever their medium. I photographed the glasses, dress and jewelry three different times with different combinations of accessories until I found the pictures that suited me and felt like they were right for the outfit. I've thrown items in from all over the grid, so you need to put on your best shopping shoes and have fun!

I'm thankful to each designer who contributed to make this style possible:

Dance On the Clouds -- Featuring [AD], Silken Moon, Face Paint, and Kyxe Skins & Shapes

There's something really magical about certain pieces of inventory I receive from time to time. I don't know why it hits me like it did, but this red dress called Passion spoke to me. It's far from ordinary. The flutter of action of the dress is mesh, and it's as if a wayward wind blew up the dress, Marilyn Monroe -esque, and then the designer captured that energy forever.
I have so many emotions flitting about inside my head at the moment. As a result, I had about 4 different ideas for style and setting. I like to think, "Who is this girl?" and "Where is she going?" Most of the time recently, the girls are someone, somewhere in a world of my imagination, not often representatives of me per se, but a viewpoint into a potential alternative universe me where I COULD be that girl.
Is she a femme fatale? It was one idea I had that ran through my veins as I styled it. The fact that you cannot see her face, only her eyes, made me think of the brilliantly clad spy at a fantastic soiree. A female version of James Bond could wear such a gown, and all of those pieces be neat little tricks of the trade that Q added to make it both gorgeous and a gown that could get her out of a pinch when she needed it.
Is she from another dimension where gravity doesn't pull everything down, and so the floating flap of exhilarating red stayed as it did because that's how it done in this alternate universe. And my mind ran wild. When you're dealing with a lot of emotional issues, it's wonderful to consider alternative plans that land you otherwheres, and far from those overwhelming things.

If I lived in a world with low or no gravity, does that mean I could dance in the clouds? I think perhaps I will. [AD] (AngelsDemons) created this intoxicating gown and inspired my dash of imagination. Silken Moon contributed the cloud walking boots as well as the nail appliers. Kyxe brow layers enhanced the bit of face that shows as does new products from the newly reopened Face Paint.

I'm excited to add each of the designers presented here to make this style possible:
