Lots Of Pictures, Lots Of Beauty, Lots of Fun -- Featuring Sabra Style November Releases, Featuring Truth Sian

Kylie Sabra has an array of hats she wears, and everything she does, she attacks with passion and energy and influences the world around her as a result. Besides being a tremendous designer, she works in one of the finest Art Galleries on the grid as curator, the Rose Theater Art Galleries. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Angel%20Manor/106/154/29
I've had the joy of spending time with her, in public spheres and private spheres and I admire everything she touches. The clothing collage I put together displays an array of items she's created and has for sale this month at Sabra Style. I don't know how she manages to keep up with everything, but look at how well she does!
If you've never visited the gallery, I encourage you to go. Are you an artist? You should drop her a note card. Have you seen her collection of clothing she's created? You must go. When someone works with as much passion as she exhibits, you know that you're going to love something if not everything there is to love about what she does. Visit. See. Invest. Enjoy!

Looking For Drama -- Featuring /Wasabi Pills/, [dirty little secret], Entice from Designer Showcase and Ro' e Buni' from The Instruments

I nearly squealed out loud to the empty house today when I saw that season 10 of Grey's Anatomy was up on Netflix. There are only a few shows I've binge watched via that connection and I love it when I do. I can be so impatient waiting 25-28 weeks for each episode to air in it's normal time slot, break for holidays, take time off for the March Madness, or whatever. With this Netflix thing, I can gobble up good stuff at my pace, and I love Grey's. I was an avid fan of E.R. but only a few of the first years, and lost interest after a while. I watched House and again, lost interest in it as well. I have returned to watching it intermittently, again thanks to Netflix, but it doesn't have that same emotional tug to me, like Grey's.
After 1 1/2 episodes, however, I had to come back here, and read news, look at emails, check notices, and look for friends to connect with because this emulation of life that comes virtually into my world makes more sense than every emotional tug I ever felt watching a television simulation of life, by like a million jillion. Sometimes people talk about drama, a bad thing, something to avoid, and yet drama, that day to day stuff that makes us laugh or cry or feel some other emotion drives our world. Drama on television inspires us. Drama in our day to day life either feeds us or is a byproduct of human connection. Sometimes things irritate me, like idiots, sometimes things disappoint me, like liars, and sometimes things make me cry, like deception, but the only way to avoid those irritations would be to avoid people. I like the positive energy from connections that make me laugh, make me proud, make me feel something good, and I wouldn't trade any of that away for some mundane quiet world.
I love experiencing the wild romps of a television drama, and well written drama just makes me smile more. But here, in this shared universe, you're so much more interesting, dramatic, fun, crazy, and yes, those negative things too. It's why I do what I do. I have this little process, coming in to work on photos, styling, and other things, but every single time I come in, I'm also checking in with friends, offering hugs, making someone growl with frustration (yes, I'm sure I irritate others at times!). I put together this outfit, from head to toe chock full of new items, from /Wasabi Pills/ latest release Dominique, to Entice's items at Designer Showcase that include the awesome Clueless leggings and Don't Heels, to Roe' e Buni items from The Instruments. I even tapped into a resource I rarely use and found a [dirty little secret] bra in my box of fun. I embrace the work, but it's all just a really good opportunity to touch worlds, designers, other models, old friends, and so many others. I'm going to finish this episode of Grey's now and will see you all again really soon. I couldn't exist without you.

*Living Imagination* Changed Its Name To *Whimsical Imagination* and Has a New Limited Item at The Couturier's Docks

Living Imagination with Bodza Mubble shared The Couturier's Docks item with me along with the news that she's renamed her store. It's now called *Whimsical Imagination* I look at the flights of fantasy that come from Ms. Bodza's imagination, and I think often that the word whimsical helps define her enter aesthetic. I loved the new business name change. I'm going to update it on my blog and hopefully you'll have a chance to visit her store as well as the once a month Limited items to show event at Couturier's Docks.
This mermaid style gown has all the beautiful colors of the season, and the name 'Royalty'. I had fun figuring out a style to accompany such a colorful gown. If I wear a gown like this, I often leave shoes off because my feet stay hidden.
I must share, however, that when I go visiting, someone should nudge me if they see me kicking up the dance floor or sitting on furniture, because those bare feet appear and sometimes this is not the best comment on fashion. Since this happened yesterday, to my cherry faced, embarrassed chagrin, I know I must not forget the feet!

Glittering Gold - FuLo from Designer Showcase; Liv-Glam from FASHIONART Faire by Glamourist, and Morphine

Designer Showcase offers a whole array of designers who choose something special each month or several something specials, and give you a chance to try new designers at a discounted price.

I've always appreciated that tactic and think it's an excellent tool for those who've been around for years and those who are brand new to SL Fashion.
The gorgeous dress comes from FuLo at Designe Showcase. The SLink High Feet shoes from Liv- Glam by Samantha S. Jones come from FASHIONART Faire and with a color hud, you can make those beautiful shoes match anything spring!
Recently a sweet friend who continues to build her brand and her skin creations as SL - Morphine - previously known as Mirror's Enigma - also adding other items, clothing, accessories, and whatever motivates her artistically; she sent me a little set of jewelry she'd created, and offered it as a small token of thought and prayer regarding my health stuffs. How special is that?!

I adore each of the designers who made this blog possible:

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like... Featuring Kawaii Dolls, {{BSD Design Studio}}, Kyxe Skins & Shapes

I know we're only in mid-November, and it's really early to think about the holidays, but I can't help it. I have a love hate relationship with them anyway, and some years, I can't bear to even see decorations, much less do a lot that people would call holiday related. Other years, I seem to need a double dose of it. Maybe it balances out over time. Last year, I didn't even put up a tree. I just didn't want to see it, didn't want to be reminded. Another year had passed. Oh whee.

This year, it's one of those double dose years. I already want the holiday decor out of the closet and on every little shelf and more in the main room and I want to buy a little bitty tree for my Karyn pretty princess office (my bedroom) where I often sit and work in Second Life, or in blogging, photos, or Facebook. I deliberately went hunting for a gorgeous Christmas setting last night after a special something happened. It felt like the spirit of the season, and I was already feeling the mood.

Cat Sahara, creator of the gown seen in the photos, Kawaii Dolls Athena Gown (to be released soon!), sent a message out late in the evening East Coast time, and offered the first five who responded a new gown from her new store. I thought well, that sounds delightful, and I IM'd her, and low and behold, I was one of those first five. I got a gift, one I wasn't expecting, even when the page in the group occurred. I imagined that she'd be flooded with responses, and I'd just smile and say thanks anyway.

I eagerly opened it. I learned from Cat that her store was relatively new and thus the reason I had not yet heard of it. I thrilled to try on the dress. Because it was a gift? Yes. Because it was from a designer I'd not yet tried? Yes. Because random acts of kindness like that ripple out to affect many with positive energy? Yes, yes, yes! I don't know what trips the trigger in my own mental processing of the holidays, but whatever it is, it's tripped in the positive direction this year, and I'm excited to say...

It's beginning to look a lot like the holidays, and I wish nothing more for each of you as you and your loved ones slide into the holiday spirit, in whatever way you do in your part of the world, that you find the joy and beauty and love that makes it miraculous. Live! Laugh! Love!

If Only You Believe In Miracles -- TBCF Bliensen + MaiTai, EnvyMe, and Paisley Daisy

Sometimes I ponder what our current age would look like if we were able to show it to our great grand parents. I was born in 1968. My mother was born in 1944. I think that means my grandmother on her side of the family was born around 1919.

I believe I've shared before that I'm a History fanatic and I love Sci-Fi as well. I think those are unusually situated across the aisle from one another. History already happened and Sci-Fi is what we think may happen one day.

Electronics and the eventual revolution the field created began around the turn of the 20th century. Lightbulbs were used as part of the new age of electricity when 1899 turned over the calendar to 1900. With each improvement, some people predicted terrible things and others foresaw amazing beauty.

My balance comes more easily when I have a fairly solid understanding of the world around me. I like consistency. I like patterns. I revel in repetition. A side note and bit of irony - I used to be the queen of schedules and consistency, and now I'm the anti-queen. I can't believe how much I've changed.

Our world could look very alien to those great grandparents, kin that were born around the time when electricity changed the world forever. Telegrams, and telephones, ocean liners and airplanes, cash registers and computer account management... each step, from one of these to the next had to appeal to our nature to see something new and strange and fear it or call it a miracle.

I do understand how change inspires fear. I prefer to pursue the possibility of miracles. I don't always understand the technology that flies by me left and right, and I know as I get older, the information speed will continue to increase exponentially. I embrace the radical world we helped create and can't wait to discover the one we have yet to imagine.

If my grandmother could see me, Caryn, a saucy sweet and spicy bit of female pixels and how that Caryn interacted with a world of people, part of her would want to bury it or burn it. The other inquisitive part would sit at my side and learn it. I hope one day, my grand-daughters will be so kind.

In Celebration of Milestones Featuring an Array of Gifts from KL Couture

This past week, KL Couture celebrated a big milestone. I showed you the 1000th member dress and I wanted to go back through the past months gifts, as they're out and available still, plus show you this month's group gift.

April's gift, Camille, was an almost unbuttoned long top over those extremely low riser type pants. It's a simple casual look, great for all sorts of ways to spend your Saturday and Sunday.

May's gift, Gloria, has a similar feel to the one offered in April, but you have a pair of shorts, and the top does button all the way. More skin shows but in different places, allowing you again to have a fun, casual look perfect for all those simple pleasures weekends offer.

June definitely reminded me of club wear, the gold Lena. The very slinky sequined mini dress shimmered in the sunlight as I set up for this photo. It catches light perfectly and enhances all your curves.

Aurore in July presented a very neat twist on the mono-kini that was then turned into a mono-kini-dress. The halter top definitely exposes as much skin as any bikini would, then hips are displayed on the left, while the right side has a bit of skirt fluttering around the leg and right ankle.

August's gift, Marcia, offered a half shirt, short plaid shorts, and a belt. This little 'get-up' continued the summer theme of playful, casual, and free spirited fun.

With September's arrival, Darla seemed perfect for those still sunny days, but with the right little jacket, Darla could be worn even as temperatures cool.

Last, but not least, the newest group gift for October called Laura brings the first snuggly clothing, the knit of the sweater definitely designed to ward off that coming autumn chill.

For Each Outfit, I used the KL Couture Item Plus These Accessories
1. IKON: Sunrise Eyes Steel Blue Pale
2. Hairoin: Sparrow (new)
3. Sexy Mama Valentine Sculpted Nails
4. [Mirror's Enigma]: Sapphire Tan Skintone
5. FuLo: Watch Silver
6. KL Couture: Opium Luxe Sandals
7. In-Pose and Manifeste Poses

You've seen a couple of these gifts on my blogs elsewhere but I wanted to present them to you all at once so you could see the effusive fun that comes with celebrating milestones. KL Couture reached it's 1000th member, but it's only just beginning. Join KL Couture and grow as it grows!

Every Now and Then I See... a New Me -- Featuring blackLiquid, A.F.I Designs, Pure Poison, White Widow, and Liv-Glam

Every now and then, I see a new me. It continues to happen. At first, I thought it was just what I would do when I was in modeling school or working with a new mentor. People critiqued my look often. Some made suggestions while others insisted. I continue to desire to be flexible and work with anyone who's also willing to work with me, so I'd edit me.

I still listen to those I respect in the business. I have gone to get specific skins because a designer would like their photos taken with that skin for my blog. If I'm taken seriously as a blogger, than I repay that with all earnestness for my sponsor, whoever it may be. I don't even mind being something fantastical from time to time, like a fairy or an elf.

A tweak here and a tug there never seem like much. Then I go back and I look at my avi from a month ago or three months ago, and though they always seem similar, I can tell what changes I've made along my journey.

A day or so ago, I saw a lady post in one of the modeling groups a "HELP! I don't recognize me, what do I do?" petition. She'd been to a class or an event where change was encouraged and she'd changed so many elements, she was lost and didn't know herself at all.

Carrie Bridger at Carrie's Lingerie was the first to comment on my shape, about how tiny I was, and suggested I stretch. She found a good price on Marketplace for a couple of shapes and I chose one of those. It was leaner and taller. I went from 5'3 to about 5'7. This was a major change for me!

The next time someone worked with me on shape occurred at Face Paint. I was new, not even placed yet in their contest, just doing some practice store modeling while the contest was in progress. Eve Express gave me a 'basic model' shape then encouraged me to take it and edit it and make it feel like me. I wasn't sure what felt like me, but I was more than willing to do as she said, and I edited it.

About three months later, I'd been working with Face Paint during the passage of that time, and Eve set an appointment for me to meet the amazing Ponchituti for a private-ish shape lesson and work on the shape I already had been tweaking. Ms. Ponch gave me a few key pointers that have helped ever since. She said, "Always make a copy of the now you and save it. Then adjust yourself s-l-o-w-l-y.

6. FuLo: Bangles

Rather than making huge changes, she suggested 2 or 3 points on the slider option built in to creating SL shapes. She said that if I did more than that each time I worked on it, I would send everything pelmel into catastrophe. Sound advice too, because it did help prevent me from that overwhelming sense of "Who am I?"

Later, I bid on personal time with Mr. Frolic. I was enamored by this man and when he wanted to 'take my shape and tweak it some' I was more than eager to comply. He sent me back an updated version of Caryn, but it was by no means finished. He said I would have more work to do when I attended a modeling class. I had already known I wanted to attend Miss Virtual World Modeling Academy.

When the time came, and I did attend the Shape Class portion of MVWMA, I spent an official hour with Ms. Kay Fairey and then later, she worked with me one on one to help me understand the tweaks and changes she'd recommended. I worked on minute details with her and that again was priceless.

I've never had that "Oh no! Where did I go?" reaction to shape editing. I have a short, a tall, a curvaceous, a thin (for mesh) and several other versions of the same me, because regardless what I edit otherwise, I keep the face the same. Though I thought I'd get to a point where I thought I was 'done', I realize now that I was not, nor would I ever be really done with my shape.

I visited Couturier's Docks this morning and found an array of items I thought would accessorize the amazing new Flower Power dress from A.F.I Designs. The Chen hair from blackLiquid paired with Pure Poison's Silver Tomnia jewelry and fantastic eye art from White Widow seemed like they were all from the same puzzle and all I had to do was put it together.

For the Liv-Glam look, I got the dress from the 24 Event. Because I worked for Liv-Glam for a number of months, I know various versions of a dress appear all around the grid at special locations as well as at least one being for sale in the flagship store. I continue to keep all of my Liv-Glam items that include clothing, shoes, jewelry and so much more. When I blog something from Liv-Glam, I try to accessorize with Liv-Glam products.

In the Sweet By and By -- Featuring Dot-Be Fashion, [[Masoom]], Hairoin and {{BSD Design Studio}}

No matter where you go on this little blue ball we all live on, there you will discover some new or wonderful or awe inspiring thing. Even the dark and gritty sandstorms of the desert literally stir up their world for the length of time they bluster.

I must admit, I have the travel bug in a bad way. I want to visit so many places in the world, but I have a top two on my list. If I could go anywhere at all, and expense wasn't figured in to my decision, I would travel to Ireland and live in a cottage by the sea in a tiny little town.

6. [[Masoom]] Poses and [LAP]

Just the word - Ireland - conjures up many reactions in me. I think of ancient people who believed in white energy, white light, beings of white light... and I think of what our age teaches us about angels. If it's an ancient world, does that mean more of those creatures of light live there?

6. [[Masoom]] Poses and [LAP]

I think of haunting music played on old violins and flutes, the giant drum and the dancing that always accompanies this music. I think of pubs, little places really, just a hole in the wall, but in that hole, happy people share a pint and the stories of their day and bygone days.

I think of fierce proud people who were willing to defend themselves against all odds and the bravery they showed when they did so. It's a culture rife with riddles and rhyme and so much beauty. I could just sit there for a long long while and soak it up and then sit some more.

When I look at the second place on my list, it also evokes a number of images in my head and memories from History classes I took. I even took two years of the language so I could go there one day and have a clue what I was reading in the original language. The place - St. Petersburg.

Peter the Great, for whom the city is named, overwhelmed most when they first met him. He was extremely tall for people from his region, and that alone made him a bit fearsome though he was said to have a fair and kind spirit. He also had a great deal of power, first as a Tsarevitch and later as Tsar.

He knew that though Russia had great lands and people reaching across more miles than they could have ever counted, the people beyond their borders would make the difference in his beloved Russia. He traveled and later in life sent emissaries to reach out to that world, learn their customs, and so much more.

I know I get very different feelings as I stop a while and think of these two places. I realize the possibility that I may never get to visit either. That's why it's even more special when I get to visit an array of beautiful places in our Second Life. Tonight, I visited Tokyo for one of the special BOSL events and I loved it.

Whether you travel earnestly, or cross the world with it at your fingertips like I do, I hope you find the chance to do so something very special. I need to meet people from everywhere, learn other languages, explore other cultures and I try to do so with an open mind. I hope our path crosses some day, too.

Under the Sea -- Featuring Liv-Glam, {{BSD Design Studio}}, Hairoin and M&M Sexy Lingerie

When I began blogging, I only took one photo, or if I took more, it was done like a mirror effect so you could see every color in the rainbow sold in any given fat pack. My concept of what was right and what was expected from me as a blogger came from my own sense of fair.

As time progressed, I grew more comfortable in creating a blog that was about things I really wanted. I chose designers to approach in earnest desire to blog for them carefully and systematically. I knew I would be able to say something good about them because I'd chosen them.

I know that others blog differently and to each their own. It's a good thing in my opinion that no two people are copies of one another. It would be really boring if all you got were carbon copy clones and everyone said the same thing about everything. Yawn!

I fear less each time I blog anything. I used to worry over the details, wanting to get everything perfect, which of course is impossible, but I needed to earn my keep so to speak, and continually prove to these designers that they were not wasting their time by letting me blog a copy of their items.

Almost everything I did at one time was in a studio setting and on a computer that really didn't have the capability to offer much depth or crispness to the photos. I look at the pictures I took before the new computer and cringe just a little bit, then whisper thanks to all of the people who worked with me.

Now I deliberately go to unique places like the store Elegance by Elysa and the place "Under the Sea" that sincerely reminded me of The Little Mermaid. Regardless where I go, I know I'll get unique sets, poses and lighting that enhance the varied products I showcase. And I meet new people and have fun.

I like having a voice people tune in to, to 'listen' to what I have to share. Many have become followers and friends, commenting along the way, offering a hug, thanks, and so much more that's intangible and difficult to explain. Each connection has it's own special place in my life.

Because I know literally hundreds of people could read my words here, followers from Google+, Blogspot and Facebook, I try to say something of value. I know that many people will share the good and the not so good things about items they review. That just doesn't work for me.

I have my gramma's voice in my head reminding me, "Karyn, if you can't say something nice, don't bother to say it at all." So I carefully choose those I follow and represent and cherish the sponsors who work with me. Whether I take you under the sea or across the wild world, I hope it's a joyful journey.

It always is to me!
