As for work, I'm having a tough week physically, so I popped in yesterday to style my latest outfit and popped back out again soon after... this one comes with primary inspiration - Wicca's Wardrobe. The "Captured" top and the "Inara" wonderboots that I may never ever ever take off again... I call them wonderboots. That wasn't an official name or anything. I just think they rock amazzzzingly. You can find them at Rue A La Page.
Chop Zuey Eternity In Purple comes from the massive release of gifts she shared during the holidays and adds a bright pop to the look. And new hair, also a gift, from EMO-tions, called Faith worked well with this fiercely urban chic look.

Adding Sneak Peek To My Blog -- Featuring Zanze from Sneak Peek and Wicca's Wardrobe from The Instruments
I received my first item from a monthly event that I joined recently. It's called Sneak Peek and offers an array of items from various designers. Each time I add a new event, I update my blog's front page. You'll find the short term events above the Flickr slide show, then each of the monthly events I work with below it.
They're alphabetized now, though in the past, I had items listed on the front page in the order that the designers had hired me. It's way too complicated to keep up with that, especially when I've had periods of times I left a group to deal with my world offline then returned. Yes, alphabetically is easier. Except when I forget whether N or M comes first in the alphabet. :p I'm sharing a link here, for this first time, then will know you have access to the SLurl on my blog, Sneak Peek's blog address on my blog and any other pertinent information.
I'm so glad to work with the incredible team at Zanze with this new project and admire Ms. Fizz Lennie Devina and adore Ms. Zoie Zee http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/zanze%20two/64/191/26 - So to kick off the Sneak Peek blogging, this is Elena from Zanze the store, at the November Sneak Peek. I paired the halter dress with Sazzy Pants from Wicca's Wardrobe. You can find them and other new pieces she's created to be worn together as an outfit or separately like I have in this instance. These pants and other Wicca's Wardrobe items are sold currently at The Instruments.

Looking For Drama -- Featuring /Wasabi Pills/, [dirty little secret], Entice from Designer Showcase and Ro' e Buni' from The Instruments
I nearly squealed out loud to the empty house today when I saw that season 10 of Grey's Anatomy was up on Netflix. There are only a few shows I've binge watched via that connection and I love it when I do. I can be so impatient waiting 25-28 weeks for each episode to air in it's normal time slot, break for holidays, take time off for the March Madness, or whatever. With this Netflix thing, I can gobble up good stuff at my pace, and I love Grey's. I was an avid fan of E.R. but only a few of the first years, and lost interest after a while. I watched House and again, lost interest in it as well. I have returned to watching it intermittently, again thanks to Netflix, but it doesn't have that same emotional tug to me, like Grey's.
After 1 1/2 episodes, however, I had to come back here, and read news, look at emails, check notices, and look for friends to connect with because this emulation of life that comes virtually into my world makes more sense than every emotional tug I ever felt watching a television simulation of life, by like a million jillion. Sometimes people talk about drama, a bad thing, something to avoid, and yet drama, that day to day stuff that makes us laugh or cry or feel some other emotion drives our world. Drama on television inspires us. Drama in our day to day life either feeds us or is a byproduct of human connection. Sometimes things irritate me, like idiots, sometimes things disappoint me, like liars, and sometimes things make me cry, like deception, but the only way to avoid those irritations would be to avoid people. I like the positive energy from connections that make me laugh, make me proud, make me feel something good, and I wouldn't trade any of that away for some mundane quiet world.
I love experiencing the wild romps of a television drama, and well written drama just makes me smile more. But here, in this shared universe, you're so much more interesting, dramatic, fun, crazy, and yes, those negative things too. It's why I do what I do. I have this little process, coming in to work on photos, styling, and other things, but every single time I come in, I'm also checking in with friends, offering hugs, making someone growl with frustration (yes, I'm sure I irritate others at times!). I put together this outfit, from head to toe chock full of new items, from /Wasabi Pills/ latest release Dominique, to Entice's items at Designer Showcase that include the awesome Clueless leggings and Don't Heels, to Roe' e Buni items from The Instruments. I even tapped into a resource I rarely use and found a [dirty little secret] bra in my box of fun. I embrace the work, but it's all just a really good opportunity to touch worlds, designers, other models, old friends, and so many others. I'm going to finish this episode of Grey's now and will see you all again really soon. I couldn't exist without you.

From Another World -- Featuring Wicca's Wardrobe and October's 4Seasons
I had so much fun putting together the photos for Wicca's Wardrobe and her items she has at The Couturier's Docks. Limited supply, so you should go go go if you haven't been there yet!
She shared her excitement about creating her own mesh this time, only the second time she's created a mesh item, and awesome little tidbit it is too! The Cybernetic Eye MAKES this look incredible, with the space motif, and otherworldly location. I'm wearing her Cayla jacket and Renraku pants, also out this month at TCD (and I've shown you her heels from this round as well on a previous set of photos).
I had to pull out her Space Boots to add to the ambiance of the overall look. I'm also using one of the newest eye shadow releases, Eclectic 2, from October's 4Seasons.I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Warm and Cozy -- Featuring E C R U at Designer Showcase, City Chic at DEbRA, B!asta, Baubles! by Phe, and X-Sight from the Promenade, NiNight Creations from Four Seasons Market, and ~ghee
Sometimes it's a challenge to mix and match items. After recently mentioning PLEASE create items that come in tops, bottoms, pants or skirts, and other layers, the fates heard me, or you did and yay! Layers. So much of the fashion friendly for 2014 Autumn/Winter has layers, for miles. Now all of us don't live in NYC, but I remember when ladies in Jacksonville FLORIDA (you know, where the sun shines almost as much as California), women wore UGG boots. Ugh. But fashion is fashion, yes?
I pieced this first style together with items from Events, head to toe! At the Promenade, I found a box of B!asta Treasures that included the necklace and earrings seen here. Also at the Promenade, I found a box of rings from Baubles! by Phe and slid the Amber one onto my finger. Way up high, at the event horizon from which the DEbRA fundraiser will come together, I found this Autumn top and skirt from City Chic. I pulled the patterned skirt then looked around for more. The hooded sweater looked cozy though it's still in the 80s here in the midlands of SC. Way too soon to wear, but fun to play barbie with it, a design from Ninight Creations that you'll find at Four Seasons Market.
X-Sight has a wide array of colors at the Promenade. I'll use them for several blogs so you can see the different hues. And after asking around for help, Warm Clarity from ~ghee hooked me up with some multi-colored tights. It's hard to believe how pop culture melded with runway designers into the Hipster layers with loads and loads of tights, but few designers have them in SL, and even fewer have the ones that would be SLink compatible. Perhaps by the end of 2014, there will be more. Thank you Warm!

Love At First Sight -- Featuring [LG] Boutique, Loovus Dzevavor, Son!a and from the Four Seasons Market - Frozen Poses
Today I got to style something that I fell in love with the moment I saw it. I've worked with [Liv-Glam] designs over a period of time, beginning soon after the store had opened up to now and every single time anything has been released from them, I've admired the very talented designers who textured the outfits so incredibly well. We all know that there are several mesh designers who sell full perm items, and multiple designers buy the different pieces. Some do alright. Some are good. [Liv-Glam] rocks!
Aside from the fact that the items produced there are stellar quality, like this gown in black and silver (or black and gold on the HUD), [Liv-Glam] participates in multiple sale events and shares such a complex inventory week after week that include many many pieces at special prices. I recently visited their newest main store and Oh My Goodness! it just blew my mind. Everywhere I turned, there were sale items. Walls and walls. Then I stepped into the building, and found myself surrounded by sumptuous items, the build, the displays, the furniture; everything was chosen deliberately and fit perfectly.
I matched the gown with a headpiece from Son!a called Chess Head Rook. Another new color of heels that were released this past week during the Autumn/Winter 2014 Penumbra Fashion Week come from Loovus Dzevavor. I love unique hats and could wear a gazillion heels and then be happy to discover pair number gazillion and one.
A set of unusual poses and props from Frozen Poses were the ones I used in these two photos. With the added leaves props, some of the poses seemed more applicable as natural posing, but used alone, they provide a real editorial selection. The poses, and the leaves not seen in these photos, are part of the Four Seasons Market Event in progress. There are all sorts of items, clothing and decor, themed for fall, so you may find yourself happily tempted as you explore Frozen Poses and so much more.

Glittering Gold - FuLo from Designer Showcase; Liv-Glam from FASHIONART Faire by Glamourist, and Morphine
Designer Showcase offers a whole array of designers who choose something special each month or several something specials, and give you a chance to try new designers at a discounted price.
I've always appreciated that tactic and think it's an excellent tool for those who've been around for years and those who are brand new to SL Fashion.
The gorgeous dress comes from FuLo at Designe Showcase. The SLink High Feet shoes from Liv- Glam by Samantha S. Jones come from FASHIONART Faire and with a color hud, you can make those beautiful shoes match anything spring!
Recently a sweet friend who continues to build her brand and her skin creations as SL - Morphine - previously known as Mirror's Enigma - also adding other items, clothing, accessories, and whatever motivates her artistically; she sent me a little set of jewelry she'd created, and offered it as a small token of thought and prayer regarding my health stuffs. How special is that?!
I've always appreciated that tactic and think it's an excellent tool for those who've been around for years and those who are brand new to SL Fashion.

Little Doll -- Featuring from Japan Fair +M's Avon-, -Irodori- and [[j'adore]]
I couldn't wait til morning to share this set of photos so I posted one to my cover photo before I went to sleep last night. This little china doll really made me smile as I worked with her.
It's one of those dresses with layers and layers of detail, and wouldn't be the same without them. Where I might play with layers, mix and match, sometimes it really is best to just show the art of one content creator. -Irodori- made the costume.
+M's Avon- created jewelry the jewelry shown with this dress. You will find the dress and the jewelry at the JAPAN FAIR 2014. I also used the last of three sets of poses to take the photos shown; this time I used [[j'adore]] Tiffany.
I have collected little doll and Geisha accessories here and there and with a little layering, I used the Geisha skin gift from Kyxe Skins & Shapes, then layered blackLiquid's Chen Geisha Face, and finally one of the beautiful sets from my past at Face Paint called The Geisha.
I do jest at times about getting to play Barbie, as a reminder of the once little girl who enjoyed visiting friends to dress dolls and redress a hundred times in a sleepover, and still not tire of finding one more pair of "ohhh isn't this cute" shoes before finally dropping into a deep sleep in the middle of the living room floor with all the cast off tiny clothing to clean up the next day. I don't make quite as big a mess these days, but I still manage to have loads of fun!

News From the Japan Fair - Featuring N1C0, Ambrosia, KMADD/Moda, [AMARELO MANGA], Kyxe Skins & Shapes
I can't believe it's really Tuesday already, and the first of April. As the SAVIAD fair came to its conclusion over the weekend, I had a few more things I really wanted to share, but I will leave this dress by N1C0 as my final styling. I had more fun working with the designers, through the whole spring theme and then the special theme of white tigers. Thank you for sharing that experience with me and letting me share it with you.
On the heels of the SAVIAD event, I have two very different and wonderful events gearing up for April fun. Really? It's already April?? The cute version of me comes as a treat from the Japan Fair. Ambrosia calls this "The Princess Prom Dress".
I don't think I wore a dress quite this innocent to prom, but that's an entirely different Karyn story! I paired the new dress with recent releases from KMADD/Moda - Betty Jane Flats, plus Kyxe Skins & Shapes new Innocence and Shine Shadows for the eyes layered and earrings from [AMARELO MANGA].
I'm looking forward to bringing you news from around the grid as this week marches forward, and I think I should have taken my high gear pill before Monday got away from me and Tuesday appeared on my windowsill!!

Tiger's Alley Found At SAVIAD Items from Silken Moon & Poet's Heart, Plus Demise of Flight, Hawker's House, and no. 7
I just shared an item from Malicia Python - Silken Moon yesterday but when I saw this new additional item for Tiger's Alley at SAVIAD, I knew I had to style with it. It's so truly me.
I found new boots from Hawker's House Clothing in my little box of goodies.
I accidentally discovered the umbrella from Poet's Heart as I did a quick search to see if I owned an umbrella for the photo in the rain. I did AND it was new and from SAVIAD also. How lucky is that?
no. 7 has many little treats out at this year's Skin Fair including these 'Kissing Lips' I layered over my Kyxe skin. Only... I thought all lips were for kissing! I didn't know. ~grins~
I wanted to shoot my photos on Image Essentials' sim because I used several new items from Demise of Flight, one of the terrific multipurpose stores that are on that sim. Jeans, the pair pose with a new found friend who came to help, BabyDarkAngle, and the other poses from a Gacha pose set all are created by the same designer.
I like to do a few blogs a month from Image Essentials because the owner - Kay Weston - puts so much of herself into the sim and has it open for anyone and doesn't ask for anything really in return for herself.

So Chic -- Featuring from SAVIAD Orsini Red and PoseWay -- Also Featuring Kyxe Skins & Shapes A.F.I Designs and EnvyMe
Today's styling, or first styling (in case I get industrious later!!), comes from SAVIAD Spring Fair once again, and features two color options from OrsiniRed, Alegria and Dark Bloom.
The poses are from the Liquidation set at PoseWay.
Besides these two special things from the fair, I've also shared Kyxe Skins & Shapes Walnut skin tone with new makeup. Many of Kyxe's skins have gotten a face lift so to speak, adding new features, new makeup and other tidbits that make it even better than better.
A.F.I Designs provided the Noctis jewelry set and EnvyMe created the harem pants. A whole array of designers and items makes the puzzle a beautiful challenge, each and every time! I hope you enjoy!

Dots and Dashes and Other Camera Tricks -- Featuring Death Rocker Betty Crocker, KMADD/Moda, In-Pose!, and Chop Zuey
I put together a series of photos taken after a challenge was offered to models who'd like to try out, in essence, for the amazing group The Fashion Teller. I did not get the styling done in time to enter, but that didn't stop me from working on the challenge.
It's supposed to be a 'Doll' look. I did a bit of research and think this look came somewhat close to what I found. Great designers sent 'Doll' stylings down the runway in both 2013 and 2014.
My sweetheart is a fan of the Suicide Girls, an alternative group of models who portray a specific lifestyle and theme, and have their own website. Though not all of the girls in this group go with the doll look, many of them have some qualities of that look.
Recent television shows in the states have shown 'Doll' looks as part of the youth culture. It's an overly dramatized face with bright lips, long lashes, and unique clothing options. Some also use tattoos as part of their overall style.
I went with the porcelain face and body tone and did not add tattoos. I thought the dark toned clothing contrasted well with that pale pretty skin.
Designers I used to create this style - Thank you!!

Behind Bars -- Featuring Dot-Be Fashion, [NikotiN], ::Marshmallows::, and Delirium Style
Help! I'm in jail! Okay, I admit. I went searching for a jail where I could film these photos. I had to find a place that really looked like a jail and a place that wasn't ultra busy so I wouldn't have people who came into the camera's view while I was setting up the photos, and asking questions or worse yet, trying to interact with me as if I were in the jail as a set up for some role-play. Places like that are not so easy to find in Second Life. It seems loads of people LIKE being in jail!
Strangely enough, when I got the new [NikotiN] clever little cigarette set, I knew I wanted to blog from a jail cell. I also knew finding one that would not be crowded would be a challenge. Most jails seem to be on Adult sims with all sorts of tricks and traps set up for the epitome of play. I didn't want to step into anyone's trap and have to explain. No no. Really. I'm not here to be... stop. No. Wuf? Really? Okay. I finally ended up here in this little basement room with walls and bars and little else.
I have heard references to jail in all sorts of literature, the movies, and pop music. The allusion to life, where our worlds are bound up behind bars, restrictions, limitations, past choices, makes sense. It's not that different from the physical world, the rock and mortar and the old rusty iron. If I were passionately avid about escaping, I imagine the rust would work in my favor and over time I could wiggle my way out of such a setting. I have to imagine in like manner that I would do the same in life.
I know that those who've lived in an institution like a prison for a good portion of their life have a hard time wanting to come out from behind the bars. Somewhere in their world, the bars became a security that kept them where they actually felt safe. They learned the rhythm of the prison, the day, the night, the people's faces, and what was permitted. Then they learned to beat the system, and get items that were not permitted. I don't think anyone who's been in that situation said, "OH I LOVE IT HERE!"
I get the idea, the being institutionalized, the getting comfortable within a setting, even if the setting is putting bars on your windows and bars on your heart. If it's been a while, and you haven't acknowledged your own bars, things holding you back, I encourage you to take a deep breath of bravery and rattle that rusty cage door till it comes off its hinges. Fight to get back into your life, and do it with head held high. You can't fail if you don't try. You must try.
Life behind bars will always be less than ideal. Only you can make the decision to do something about it. I pray that you do. Take baby steps. Don't rely on the patterns and consistency of the world you're in now, even if there's a sense of peace and understanding. Don't get so comfortable with wherever you've caged yourself in that you don't realize it's a cage. Always... Live! Laugh! Love!
The Dot-Be Aviator Jacket and [NikotiN]'s new cigarette set inspired me. One thing I really love about Dot-Be... every time I try something new from there, it takes me some new 'where' in my head, and shows a diverse style. Not only does Boniefacio create a whole array of women's things from exquisite formals to urban grunge, he does men's things as well, so if you haven't been by to see, it's worth the trip!

In Other Words -- Featuring Zanze, {{BSD Design Studio}}, Finesmith
Believe it or not, even I get tongue tied at times. I find words easily flow from my fingertips on most occasions, so when they do not, I get perhaps more than flustered. I get frustrated. I don't need to always be eloquent. I do need to be understood.
I visited the latest remodeling of Zanze last night. Some of you may perceive my life as all over the grid doing all sorts of things, but the reality is, I rarely leave my work behind, and even if I travel somewhere, I only stay a few minutes. I like the new build; open spaces make it feel more inviting.
When I sat at the piano, an old Frank Sinatra song came to mind. "Fly me to the moon. Let me play among the stars. Let's see what Spring is like on Jupiter and Mars." Some of the people I've met in Second Life like the creator of Zanze clothing offers that special whimsy.
If you visit their personal space or their business space, and make time to get to know them, you'll find a friend who's likely to want to go star hopping with you. I don't think everyone's whimsy matches, but in the vast virtual world we share, there is plenty of it.
Zanze and other designers like Finesmith (the most precious little girl earring and necklace are from Finesmith) create their magic, spin us around a few times or have us click our heels together then they whisk us away into the ethos of imagination.
"In other words..." the song says, "I love you." When all else fails in communication, those three little words, "I love you," will always help. Live! Laugh! Love!

Gold
Jon Stewart wrote a song, "Gold" about the process of artistic creation and how to make sure it sells. A good song writer, a singer, someone who's good with mechanics in the music industry... they all have something in common. They've figured out how to turn music into GOLD.
As members of the fashion industry, we in like manner work to turn our passions into gold. I have heard often that you cannot expect to get rich while you model. It's a challenging business.
I perched in the chair, just outside the ballroom, a cup of tea to sip as I gather the courage to ask you...
Flirtatious eyes flicker back to you, over my shoulder. A breathless moment ensues...
Every day, I devote time to work in Second Life. I really do work. I want to do it. I enjoy it. And I do like it when my passion for the work earns money. I do many things without any notion of pay, but when someone does choose to pay me, it's treasured.
I hear the first notes from the orchestra drifting from the room beside us, tickling my ears, teasing my desire to bravado till I finally ask, "Will you dance with me?"
I think the single greatest thing I have ever done for pure fun has been to dance in Second Life. Even when the dances were very unpretty and jittery in the early years, I just loved to dance. Now the scripts and the animations are so much more clever. I went to a live dance performance (though I cannot recall the troupe's name) and was in awe of how dance had progressed in Second Life. I just love it. Seriously, will you dance with me? ~smiles~
I began working with the designers at Designer Showcase and this dress from Graffitiwear is part of this cycle's sales. Visit Designer Showcase to get this gown and see the many deals from all around the grid. I paired with a beautiful new pair of earrings that I just opened today (even though they were a Christmas gift) to wear. I wasn't in world as much in January, so I'm enjoying Christmas far into the new year. Chop Zuey provided the necklace and bracelet as pieces from the amazing selection of free items she has at her main store. The group fee is 350L, but with that VIP status, the rewards are enormous and far exceed the small fee.

Shadow Moon Jumper Outfit at the Winter Fair
There was a time, in the age of dinosaurs, yes yes yes, I'm really that old... Okay, maybe not dinosaurs. A time when I did a myriad of jobs to put myself through college. One of the many I did was substitute teach in an elementary program.
Outfits like this were perfect for the setting, comfortable, not too dressy, yet not disheveled. Having several color tops and jumpers to rotate could dress Kindergarten teach for the whole month of December. I loved the denim pattern with pockets designed to match the turtleneck chosen.
