Upon My Return -- Featuring !Lybra, h.m.a.e.m., Morphine; American Outfitters at The Promenade; and [[Modern Couture]] at The Instruments

It's always a little odd to have to be away a while, then return to this shared virtual world and virtual life that criss crosses so many peoples' worlds it astounds me. My world gets very very small indeed when I get to a point where I turtle into my shell and invest more energy into making it through a day than anything else. When I finally peek out of that shell, it's unusual because I often feel like sooo much time has passed, and it's only been a few days, and because in some cases, even those few days make and break people, and some names I will never see again.
I have the true blessing to know so many of you via different forms of art and artistic discussion, the same passions, the same energy and drive. Lybra recently went from being a well known high end designer to an off the charts oh my goodness WOW designer. I think there are several reasons for this, but ultimately, it's a good team, people at each level working together to accomplish a really great result. The gown I have on called Isamu, recently released, shows exactly my point. It's hot, yet elegant, culturally relevant yet unique. I love it.
When I saw the [[Modern Couture]] jewelry set from The Instruments this month, I was thinking, "What an awesome look for that gown I want to blog." So you have it to accessorize. American Beagle Outfitters created the wire cuff on one wrist for the Promenade, Morphine made the heels, and h.m.a.e.m. created the necklace. All of it adorns the perfectly tinted selection of skin tones found at October's 4Seasons like this Blossom Skin Tone with dark brows.

Carrie Snowpaw, What a Lady! Featuring Snowpaws from both FASHIONART Faire and Designer Showcase plus Kyxe Skins & Shapes and Face Paint

Carrie Snowpaw remains one of those friends who 'knew me when' I had no idea what I was doing. I had goals I'd set for myself but really no clue yet how to reach those goals and she was there, supportive, right by my side if I needed it, a cheering section, a listener, a sharing person, someone who grew into friendship from a business framework, someone I would be lost without and someone who knows bits and pieces about me and still allows me to remain a part of her world. We have personal life details in common, which makes it more fun and personal. But even if we didn't, there's something about this woman that's very special. She'd give you her last dollar if she thought you were needful. I think she's given a great deal to Second Life, fashion, and I know she's given a lot to me.
This dress, the Viale Gown Blanche and Water Color are available at the FASHIONART Faire and showcase some of her best qualities as a designer. The colors are unique. There's a charm and class about the gown, and something just a little bit different that makes it a Snowpaws creation. I also paired it with some earrings she designed for an outfit called Naika that's currently on sale at Designer Showcase. I found a blog where I showcased Naika - http://carynashdeneslblog.blogspot.com/2014/03/going-nowhere-featuring-snowpaws-and-no.html - and hope you can scoot over to get it)
Many of the accessories are things I particularly like from a variety of designers with just a few items other than those from Snowpaws that are new to my blog. You'll see Face Paint has new items out that include the Killer Liner shown on the photo of the golden yellow gown. You'll also see a Hot Pink Sparkle Shadow from Kyxe Skins & Shapes that hasn't appeared on my blog other times.
I styled both gown with the desire to show you how versatile the gowns are as well as the accessories I chose. Whether you're a brunette or a blonde, or you love lighter skin or the very darkest, with combinations of your favorite pieces in inventory, you can look stunning in these exclusives from Snowpaws.

Sometimes I Get Chatty -- Featuring Tukinowaguma from Japan Fair Plus FINESMITH @ Main Store and Fashion Stars

This week, a friend paused to show me a few tricks with regard to setting windlights and shadows as I asked again, "How can I improve what I'm doing for these awe inspiring designers. October has taken professional photos in world for hundreds of people, and each was a work of art. I want to be able to do that one day. Baby steps. I will continue to take baby steps. I found a new brush by accident when I was actually looking for one October mentioned to me. The profile photo she helped me create took my breath away, and she'd already done so when she did an advertisement for last month's Fashion Pride event that ended up being my Facebook Cover Photo.
She's one of those women who make me tired just listening to everything she does, and because she does so much, and remains an avid and supportive friend, she has a special part of my heart. Her most recent endeavor includes a partner and the rejuvenation, rebrand and marketing of the skin company, Kyxe Skins & Shapes. Face Paint closed about 6 months ago now, and I had given them an exclusive guarantee at the time that I would use Face Paint products in every single blog I ever posted and on every single runway show as well. I never broke that promise. A pair of days ago, I offered the same exclusivity to Kyxea and October aka Keisha.
I feel it's a privilege to work with designers from all over the grid. When I was newer than a green sapling, I went to a FINESMITH casting and had it in my head that I was all ready, set, to work in the store, right then and there. Needless to say, I was miles away from being a model, and needed time to learn. Now I have the joy of blogging for FINESMITH and I want to do everything in my power to present all that she creates in the finest way. One thing she's asked of her bloggers, and it only makes sense, "Please don't mix new releases from FINESMITH with other jewelers." I respect this immensely and have done so.
When I put the hair on from Tukinowaguma at Japan Fair, it had some inlaid headpiece as part of the hair. I loved the hair and thought it was so perfectly paired with the Sarit in Pearl set that FINESMITH has for sale over at Fashion Stars and the Moonstone Gown found at FINESMITH's main store. I checked with Ms. Yeriak to be sure that wearing the adorned hair would not clash with the request of FINESMITH. She said it was fine, so I ended up with this styling. Pearls have been considered since ancient times the tears of the moon. They're the only gem that comes from organic material, and the finest pearls in all the world found themselves set in courtly jewels and those of the very rich and very famous. Over time, the pearl has become the symbol of purity and innocence. I could feel that aura as I worked with them today.

Without these designers, I would not have been able to style this newest look. Thank you!

News From the Japan Fair - Featuring N1C0, Ambrosia, KMADD/Moda, [AMARELO MANGA], Kyxe Skins & Shapes

I can't believe it's really Tuesday already, and the first of April. As the SAVIAD fair came to its conclusion over the weekend, I had a few more things I really wanted to share, but I will leave this dress by N1C0 as my final styling. I had more fun working with the designers, through the whole spring theme and then the special theme of white tigers. Thank you for sharing that experience with me and letting me share it with you.

On the heels of the SAVIAD event, I have two very different and wonderful events gearing up for April fun. Really? It's already April?? The cute version of me comes as a treat from the Japan Fair. Ambrosia calls this "The Princess Prom Dress".
I don't think I wore a dress quite this innocent to prom, but that's an entirely different Karyn story! I paired the new dress with recent releases from KMADD/Moda - Betty Jane Flats, plus Kyxe Skins & Shapes new Innocence and Shine Shadows for the eyes layered and earrings from [AMARELO MANGA].
