I often tell a story, an anecdote as I write in my blog. Tonight, I want to talk about my blog. I spoke with someone I respect earnestly today about blogging as it relates to Second Life. I always always learn from this person and today was no different. Some people are just like that in life, and I count it a blessing that I've met people with wisdom in so many facets of my life, not just my Second Life. I'm also grateful for the way special people impact my world, so that even though it's shared in Second Life, it becomes an integral part of Karen's Life.

Because I cover topics that are not directly related to Second Life and I share topics that relate to Second Life that do not always address Second Life Fashion, I'm not exactly a fashion blogger. It makes sense to me and I made a conscious decision the first of January this year to steer my blog in this direction. I have read hundreds of blogs from so many points of view, and only a portion of them were Second Life bloggers. There are super cool bloggers out in our virtual global world talking about so many many things! When I read Second Life bloggers, I began to identify what I liked and what wasn't right for me, and looked back at my own blog and the direction as well as my heart's sense of where I might go with it.

The bloggers who talk to me, as if they were sitting in my living room with me, are the ones I noticed most and remember long after I turn off the computer. After some time and gaining inspiration, and following my own learning curve, I decided I would feel more real and more 'me' if I did this as well. I talk to you, the common you that tunes in to read my words, as if I were talking to you while you sat across from me. I also talk to you in a way that reminds me of a diary entry. Some of the thoughts are very personal, and some simply me, and I love this outlet. Many communicate in much the same way with Facebook and in far fewer words on Twitter. I just use a blog format AND Facebook and Flickr to share. And while I write and share tidbits of my world with you, I also show you things like these two series of poses created by [[Massoom]]'s content creator whom I just began working with this week. Maybe I share two or three pictures a week and maybe I share two or three pictures an hour. It's just me, being me, and offering you a window to my world. To those of you who let me style and share your designs, I love it and your support. I hope it makes a difference in your world, as you have made one in mine.

Liv-Glam at Zenshi South - New Exclusives

A number of designers I work with have been zealously preparing for the opening of Zenshi South this weekend. Liv-Glam has opened their satellite store with a number of new releases. For all designers at Zenshi South, the items found there are ONLY found there, and cannot be purchased elsewhere on the grid.

The Fressange dress has a jacket that can match the dress or be a different HUD choice, so mixing and matching are an option as well as wearing the dress without the jacket at all...

Without the jacket, I could add the matching necklace in the Alicia Set. The creator of Artistry by ~E~, Endra Graves, has been working with me closely, giving me a new point of view on what jewelry and clothing types go well together. She's also retextured some items along the way.

Two versions of Gabrielle were released to Zenshi's Liv-Glam store. One with the animal print as a focal point of design...

The other with the unique tapestry type texture. Both have the bolero with a belt across the chest that's closed and another belt at the throat that remains open.

The Gloria Set has been reworked twice, so just as there is a Gabrielle SP1 and Gabrielle SP2 for the clothing, there's a Gloria SP1 and Gloria SP2. Contact Endra Graves if you would like to purchase the jewelry she retextured fort this pair of great pants outfits. Because of the cut of the outfit, I could wear the jewelry all the time, with or without the jacket, and it could be easily seen.

I value the pair of winter pants sets that are called Jet Aime I and II. The first set is primarily silvers and greys while the second one is primarily blacks and greys.

I never see a boring or flat texture coming from Liv-Glam and I knew I would not be disappointed with these great new looks exclusively designed for Zenshi.

I had fun at the new store at Zenshi, as a matter of fact, and took a selection of photos from inside the store, and one of the looks was photographed just outside the store.

If you haven't been to the new Zenshi property, it's a beautiful sight to see, regardless of what you decide to buy. I know many of you are fantastic Liv-Glam fans, and you're going to want one of everything. Not to worry!

It's easy to look and feel good in designs by Liv-Glam, but adding the extra touches with jewelry hand picked to enhance the overall style, the Hayley set looked stunning with Jet Aime I while the Muireann set stood out beautifully against the black of Jet Aime II.

A couple of the new releases are short, party or cocktail dresses. I found a warm spot in the sun and reclined wearing this pretty new Vanrycke dress with well chosen gold and lapis lazuli pieces from Artistry by ~E~, the Nefertiti set. I even used one of the Face Paint products called "Nef" to add to the illusion of ancient Egyptian beauty.

Just outside the Liv-Glam doors, I took this photo of the Serres Moi mini dress. It's got several texture options making it really easy to style with favorite accessories like the Odeur Knee boot and the 'wow' of the Eileen set, Artistry by ~E~.

One more pair of outfits run with the white vs. black type theme. Mon Ange SP1 layers mesh with system pieces, and everything goes well with the white trousers. My favorite of all of Artistry by ~E~'s jewelry is shown also in this photo, The Carina set, as it pulls out all the colors of the rainbow.

With this perspective, you can see both the detail of the mesh texturing on the jacket, as well as the beautiful intricacy of the Carina set.

Mon Ange II also adds versatility to your wardrobe. It's a casual outfit, but with the trousers expertly tailored, you could also put on a pair of fancier heels, twist hair up off the shoulder and head out for a dinner date.

Baboom Offers a New Release Plus a Special Christmas Dress

Each designer I work with leaves their mark in my life in a wonderfully positive way. Kyra Camel creates all the clever items for sale at Baboom. Wicca Merlin manages the store. Every time I work to set up a photo for Baboom, I have Wicca's voice in my head from a modeling class I had once, where she identified herself as "Prim Police". They both work together to challenge and pull the very best I can offer from me and I feel so lucky to work with both of them.

The Mesh Dress in white has several options for wear, making it versatile, and offering pieces in this collection that you might end up using with other favorite Baboom pieces. I received a mesh jacket and mesh pencil skirt. I also received boots that rocked! To wear under the jacket, there are several options. A black lace top and a silver top are both included. I put the black lace on first, then the silver shirt, and realized that I had 3 different ways to wear the layers.

A good friend took me to a place called the Mad Hattery where they'd generously left a new hat for a holiday gift under their tree. I thought the hat was amazing and reminded me of Alice chasing the white rabbit down into Wonderland. I paired this exquisite white suit from Baboom with the extravagant hat, and loved it. I had to find a 'Wonderland' of my own for some photos. It's a wild and distorted world, yet in all the insanity, I found it beautiful and the perfect place for this set of photos.

The party Christmas dress put me in the mood to go dancing. I didn't actually go, but I wanted to badly! The cutout on the skirt reveals the legs almost completely, then a flourish of flexible skirts circle round the back of the dress. Several different layers and swag might be worn, or not. You pick and choose what works best for you.

SD Wears at EOTW

In the title of this outfit, "Hot Topic: Black Pattern Outfit" was a chord of resonance that brought a smile to my face. This black outfit from SD Wears tweaked a personal note in the best of ways.

In the city where I raised my two teen sons, the hottest place to shop if you were permitted was a place called Hot Topic. They carried edgy designs, rebellious written on tee-shirts that appealed to that age, wild gauges for the growing hole in the average teen's earlobe and so much more. I went often with my guys, and though there were many things I did not allow, a few treasures were found there and they were always 'thankyouthankyouthankyouiloveitiloveitiloveit'...

This outfit from SD Wears has the same aesthetic, a bit of dark resolve, a touch of rebellion and a fierceness that would suit Tyra on America's Next Top Model. A mixture of printed solids and shear textures combined with some sculpted shoulder pieces added to the aggressive beauty of the overall look.

Two New Releases from Liv-Glam

Grab them while they're hot. Liv-Glam has put together a whole array of sales and new releases. Here are two examples of what's in the store now,  just calling your name...

I really found structure to be the key ingredient in this newest design. The Voyage Couture dress makes me think of the amazing clothes it seems people buy before they holiday abroad, not that I've ever been so lucky but I do watch movies. I loved this dress. It's such a non-verbal statement!

I'm a huge fan of Game of Thrones, a show on HBO. One of the key characters in the series is a woman who earns the title of Khaleesi. This hair style matches hers so closely. I was immediately in love with this particular style.

The jewelry here by Artistry by ~E~ is not a new release, but it is new to me, and when she released it, it was part of a campaign to raise awareness and finances for Brain Cancer. I wanted to post it as a 'featured' item because these charitable campaigns and needs associated with them never stop.

This dress also looks like it should be packed in my satchel for travel. It's warm and sunny somewhere, and this dress has that spark that makes the world come alive in vivid colors. There's a tank type jacket over the dress, giving you options for styling. A walk along the promenade perhaps? Take the little jacket along. Sea air is cool at night!

Face Paint continues the 12 Days of Christmas countdown (on day 4 now as I write) with special treats of all kinds, and not just make-up. The Face Paint Holly is a make-up that's released as one of the 12 days.

Emotions does an incredible job of making a wide array of styles for all sorts of in world fun. The one I have on in the second photo, Cayenne, drapes easily over the shoulder and frames the face seductively.

Two of the Sexiest Releases Yet from Liv-Glam

I've been playing around with glitter this holiday, just to see if I could come up with something that resembled body glitter seen in fancy celebrations off line. In the process, I was thinking, I really need the right dress to show this idea to the masses, and then I saw this weekend's sale items from Liv-Glam.

Then I tried on several of the gowns that had similarly cut backs and so much revealed, and I knew it was perfect to display the glitter, and oh my gracious sexy. There are several versions of the Feminite Dress on the right and several versions of the dress on the left as well. The one shown in the picture, gold with black embellishment, has two options in gold or silver and is called the Kokorico. If you look around the store, you'll also see several different colors and designs of another full length dress called Jador that looks very similar. Awesome texture, and a whole lot of silky soft skin shows.
