I Tawt I Taw A Puddy Tat -- SAVIAD: A.F.I Designs, Zibska, {{BSD}}, and PosESioN

One of the things I do to fill time is watch movies voraciously. I watch great movies, blockbusters and movies you've probably never heard existed. I've noticed many of the movies I've seen recently showed a post-apocalyptic world where humans were forced to start over and rebuild the world we know currently or a world on the brink of self-destruction, missing weapons, hidden agendas, and a global economy that's rapidly deteriorating. Is this the world we live in now?

I'm not a dramatist, nor am I a sensationalist. I see so much shared, even on so-called news stations that seem intent on generating fear, and I don't accept it. If the world were on the brink of collapse, I wouldn't live any differently than I do now.

I love taking one day at a time and finding the silver lining. I love making time to play and be silly. I love focusing on those I adore. I love ignoring those things or people who would try to tug away my peace and joy. I could wallow easily, but then what? I loved styling my latest outfit with items from SAVIAD Spring Fair.

First the beautiful "Birdy" dress from A.F.I Designs, then a unique hat "Sadie" (noir) from Zibska, wild heels "Lover From Mars" (wearing two pair to create the striped look) from BSD Design studio, and finally more new poses from PosESioN.

Upside Down and It's Okay -- Featuring Evolve, .::Shellac, EMO-tions, [#7], MADesigns

Sometimes the world feels upturned. It happens in an instant. You can be standing in line at a grocery store and realize you don't have your purse. Suddenly, you're transported far from the grocery, trying to figure out when you last saw it. It's heart racing, adrenaline pumping anxiety causing stress.

I guess that's a good way to explain how Christmas might feel about now, December 17, one week from the deadline people set for the perfect gift, the perfect hosting of a party, the perfect family reunion. No wonder it's a little like the world has shaken and ended up on its head.

Somewhere along the way, I found that I could not enjoy a holiday that felt like this. I had to figure out how to embrace the joy without absorbing the crazy. Each year, I think it's a new fight, seeking out the beauty in the midst of all that could be less than beautiful.

This year finds me close to Christmas with grown sons, one with a fiance-ish, and thankfully no grandchildren yet! I told them they have to do some more growing up first. How does one take care of a family when one still thinks that pizza is a food group?

Their age and stage suits for a calm and quiet holiday. We get to share personally but not explosively. For this year, I've had a few upturned moments, then things settled again. I think it's calm for now. Calm and bright. Like the song. If you haven't found the peace this holiday, I send you heaping scoops.

Getting Ready To Visit a Special Event -- Featuring Carrie's Lingerie, h.m.a.e.m., and [#7]

This evening, I popped into Second Life for a brief visit and got a nudge from a friend to attend a big event. I had to find something to wear and I thought that it would be useful if I styled something new to blog.

One of my favorite things about Carrie's Lingerie becomes apparent if you look at the transformation. i was in a formal gown called Sparkle - aptly named!! - to attend the event.

Afterward, I pulled off the long gown skirt and voila. I had a sexy sitting room bit of sensuality. I grabbed a glass of champagne and toasted the special weekend it has been. A new Miss Virtual World was crowned.

Other news revealed the top votes from AVI choice, and others celebrated their anniversary of joining this Second Life, and still others just had a great holiday evening. I tugged off the corset, and slid into bed with my someone special, thinking of holiday, brilliant stars of memories to savor.

I had fun with this gown from INNUENDO. I felt honored in a way to receive it at all; I connected with them because of the Designer/Blogger Event that FINESMITH hosted and allowed me to join. It's like getting a new job and wanting eversomuch to please the new boss.

I felt like I was part of a snowscape when I put it on and as beautiful as an Ice Queen. *ICY SNOW* is the name of the new gown and it fits perfectly. I took the dress apart a bit, trying to use a few of the items in other ways, to put a personal spin on it.

I know that having just watched the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show I was still thinking wings. I enlarged the head piece that looked a bit like wings to me, till they were about 1000 times larger then the original and fixed them to my shoulders. They fit EXACTLY as I saw them in my imagination.

I also got to work with another new designer. The lashes worn in all of this series comes from the store no.7. I went by the store for both new designers and got lost in each. Between the two, you will find something perfect for the season and something more.

I truly enjoy working with different designers and hope you will visit their stores after seeing my newest blog. As always, "Live! Laugh! Love!"
