Kickin Down the Cobblestones... Featuring Zanze

I'm a child of musically oriented parents, so I was exposed to any number of sounds and tastes when I was very young, with favorites like James Taylor and the Beatles being my mother and father's preferences immediately being my own. Another sound they loved was from Simon and Garfunkel, so I have lyrics of theirs in my head to this day.

When I put this composition together, the song "The 59th Street Bridge" came to mind. Not sure why really, as there don't appear to be cobblestones in my set. Maybe I was just kickin back and feelin groovy. Zanze offers a super selection of looks from the very classy and fancy evening wear to a chic casual like this. Shena, which comes with a partially transparent blue top so the daring could wear it and expose a lot, while a more conservative gal like me can use the bra included, and finally a trouser that's not denim completes the look. Monochromatic designs are all the rage this year and as we look towards fall, that's not supposed to change either.

Last Note from the Boho Fair: Pulchritude and Pichi

So many good things came out of the Boho Culture Fair and I considered myself blessed to be privileged to present many of the special designs to you during this past month. Today is the last day so if you haven't been by there yet, you will want to visit.

The Triangle Dress from Pulchritude is only one of the items they put out at the fair. Pichi, the maker of the cowgirl boots seen above, also added their flair with several items at the fair. I thought it would be fun to pair them together. I'd never have thought of cowgirl boots with dresses or short pants till a recent adventure at UGA for a football game. Those pretty young gals all wore cowgirl boots with EVERYthing and I mean everything. And it was 90+ degrees out, but they were the IN thing.

More from the Boho Fair

There are still a few more days left for all the special exclusive items, neat designs and 0/1L items provided for your shopping pleasure at the Boho Culture Fair.

Among the choices from .::Fdo.0m::., this sweater, tank and skirt set caught my attention. Even though there's one arm exposed, it's still exactly right for autumn, especially autumn in the part of the country where I live! It's a little bit cool at night and in the daytime, you'd think it was June. Eventually the leaves will fall, but meanwhile, an outfit like this one is perfect. The over-sized gold peace ring from *I<3Fashion* matched the outfit so well. Designers all around the world are still in touch with the 70s/Bohemian vibe and that's been well executed in Second Life at this incredible fair.

The velvety purple shoes offers a blend of warm material in the velvet and a cool style in the sandal. You can pair them with just about anything in your wardrobe and during Midweek Madness this week, Felicity has the purple as well as a brown and black pair of these shoes on sale.

Wunderland, and PMHH + KCode and Pichi from Boho

It's great when composite pieces come together so well. I pulled colors from these different designers' contribution.

The dotted leggins are from Wunderland and free for the finding as part of the ongoing PMHH. If you're a good treasure hunter, these pants will be yours.

The top comes from KCode and a series called Corinne which has several color palettes. These tops are available till the end of the month when the Boho Fair ends.

Booties come from Pichi, also from the Boho Fair, come in a wide range of colors also. You will find a pair that matches almost anything you own.

[AsYLUM] & PMHH + AVALE at Boho Fair

I've still got a few items tucked away that I haven't looked at yet from the Boho Fair. I will keep sharing with you up till the last of the month and the close of the fair. As well, I'm collecting neat little treats buried for the PMHH and sharing those as they come in to me. This next look combines something from both of them.

I'm not really sure what's scary about the Terrifying Towel from [AsYLUM], but the scarf around my neck says it's so, so it must be, right? ~grins~ I know I could haunt you...

The skirt comes from a selection of several color skirts and tops that mix and match from AVALE and are still available at the Boho Fair. If you haven't been to the fair yet, you still have another week to visit. It's something you wouldn't want to miss. Not only are there terrific exclusive items from the participating designers, but there are also 0L/1L items at every booth also!

Boho Fair: Drift+[QE], Boho Hobo, {PopTart}

The Boho Fair is in full swing now, with great offers, specials and free gifts everywhere you look.

Boho Hobo contributed many different pieces to the fair including this one called "Afghanistan Bohemian" and have commented that their funds are raised to be charitable donations to help refugees in Afghanistan. When you take politics out of the way, people are people and need one another. This project from Boho Hobo made me smile. The bright colorful clothing did so as well and each piece I opened from them was fantastic. Support a cause and wear beautiful items that fit in with the theme well.

I paired [QE]'s Vintage Bell Bottoms Distressed Brown Stripe with Drift's Lazy Boho Sweater Dress. I can remember my mother wearing outfits like this to work when I was very young and though this set looks wonderful together, the dress has been designed so it does not necessarily need leggings or pants below it.

I put this outfit together when I was styling the new make-up by Face Paint, but it was such a fun look that I wanted to hold on to it to showcase the combat boots from {PopTart}. They're perfect whimsy to add to the fairy look. I loved the softness of the pattern with the harshness of the style of boot.

Boho Fair: [NV], Alice Blue, EnvyMe, Factorie, and Sweet Pea

I've tried to show at least one item from every contributor at this great event. In just two days, you'll be able to shop for some of the most creative items in all of SL and all created with the same theme of the Boho Culture.

[NV] created this uneven top with long sleeves for autumn warmth, yet so much skin exposed. Grab a blanket to curl up with your special someone and enjoy the effect this sexy top will have on that person. Jewelry from Alice Blue paired with this top, a beaded set that certainly keeps to the theme. Chunky beads and large baubles are all the rage so this new jewelry adds a great vibe to any outfit.

Not many designers have submitted lingerie, but the ones who have created some beautiful pieces. Factorie offered several items, two of which were similar sets like the one shown above and I preferred the pale blue. I think it's designed in such a way that you could feasibly use this set as swimwear too. Get a lot of use out of your Boho Fair purchases.

Envyme offered a selection of items as well. I loved the way this tie-dye looked so artistic, and something very cool and different from many other things I've seen in Second Life. This romper would be so comfortable. Do I get to order one off line... pretty please?

Useful layers made this outfit from Sweet Pea awesome for autumn. Mesh and system clothing are blended together to give the look the most rational layers. In addition to the jacket, top and harem pants, you will also get these half-ankle boots. You know how much I love boooooots.

Boho Fair: Sari's Creations - Sangre Vino

Sari's Creations produced a beautiful combination of a jacket paired with a maxi skirt and an option to wear a top under the jacket.

I love the different combination elements as separates because I can pair the jacket with a favorite pair of jeans or use the skirt with a different top.

Boho Fair: AXE, [em], DEW

It is only two days till the Boho Culture Fair opens to shop shop shop till you drop.

AXE put together this bandeau top with a long broomstick style maxi skirt, the Carmine Mandarin. The skirt rides low on the hips but still remains decent.  The warm dark hues of the skirt will make this skirt conducive to wearing other tops, maybe warmer tops, as temperature drops.

DEW produced a similar design, with a very small top that resembles a bikini's top and a maxi skirt. They've added a flexi portion to the skirt, so the mesh and flexi move together to give the skirt a billowing flourish as you walk.

This entire look is one of several items at the Boho Fair from [em] aka English Muffin. You get one alpha and 5 sizes, and when you wear one of the sizes, the top, skirt and boots all assemble at once. There isn't much guess work in figuring out what goes together when the whole set is pieced together as one.

In addition to the featured pieces in each photo, I'm wearing Face Paint (make-up, Emotions (hair), Artistry by ~E~ (jewelry) and Candy Nails.

Boho Fair: Bliensent+MaiTai, FLRN and Lush*Limited

Again I made use of the remainder of poses offered from Focus Pocus, numbers 5, 6 and 7.

Bleinsen + MaiTai offered an incredible array of the shoes shown in the photo and the necklace that matched. Also in the first photo one of the dresses from FLRN is shown. Combining pieces from several designers works so well when they're all on pointe with the theme of the fair.

The second and third outfits are both from Lush*Limited. The dress comes in four colors including the lavender seen here. The harem pants and jacket are separates and there are two other colors of each, allowing you to mix and match your favorite colors to suit your skin tone and hair. I chose to wear the jacket without anything on below it, but in the package from Lush*Limited, there is an optional shirt as well.

Besides the featured items mentioned above, each of the three pictures shows Face Paint (make-up), Emotions (hair), Artistry by ~E~, *New Candy Nails Harvest Beige, (2) ~Candy Metal~ Fringe Boots, (3) DADABeiz Half Ankle Boots Black

Boho Fair: [essencial], [MC], [SS], artMEfashions

I did something a little differently with the photos I took last night and today. One of the contributors to the Boho Culture Fair, Focus Pocus, provided 7 new poses. They are shown in consecutive order, 1 through 7, while I model outfits that have been created by a myriad of designers. The first four poses and outfits are on this page, and the other three will be on the page following this one.

The outfit to the left, a long dark navy gown, comes from [essencial] and presents a very elegant form fitting bodice with material that hangs down to the point where you can't see my shoes below it, but the material is gathered in some places adding light and shadow to give the material an excellent sheen.

The corset seen in the outfit next to the gown comes from [MC] aka Mystic Canvas. Corsets have become the rage in the boudoir and out, and any where you go, they're hip to wear. You cannot go wrong with a corset and the color offered by [MC] gives you a lot of options for styling.

The third outfit from [SS] aka Something Sexy, continuing to the right in the photo, shows a uniquely cut top with a stripe of skin showing from neck to upper thighs and a pair of shorts that would suit Daisy Duke tucked under the top. With a unique HUD included, you have several options on how to wear the top.

And the outfit to the far right comes from artMEfashions, a perfect fall layered look that includes the mesh pants and poncho and a long shirt below the poncho. The texture on this look offers a sense of warmth as do the colors chosen.

In addition to the outfits mentioned, each outfit has been paired with Face Paint, Emotions (hair), Artitry by ~E~ (jewelry), (1) No shoes, (2) Lola's Boots, (3) Hot Stuff Black Sneakers and (4) **Urban Cherry** Suede Ankle Boots

Boho Fair: More Skins- Shiva, Modish, and WoW + Belissima Shape

More skins and an unusual shape as promised...

Shiva's skins had a delicate pale face that made the overall look seem a bit more youthful to me. There are two skin tones available at the fair but to me, the big difference between the two is difficult to see unless perhaps it is in the features on the face.

Modish offered two different skin names, Bonnie and Kukla and for each of them, there were two sample skin tones. Bonnie, seen on the right, had a fair and a tan tone. Kukla, seen on the left, had a pale and a choco tone. All four have make-up designed to make the face look regal and sophisticated.

WoW offered the Isabella skin with three skin tones - Deep, Mid and Milk. The faces are each a pale pink base color and look younger as a result. The lines on the skin are done well and the option for cleavage or no cleavage does not dramatically distort the skin.

I think the most difficult thing for me to model has to be shapes. I've been in Second Life since 04 and in all those years, I've been making and remaking my shape, customizing it a little at a time, tweaking it with advice from friends, and on and on till I get to this point in my Second Life. I put on the Belissima shape, which actually comes in four sizes (but the shape is basically the same regardless of height), and I did not recognize myself, however I thought the shape would be cute and fun for someone who was looking for something new or someone who was just beginning the process of defining their overall 'look' in Second Life.

Boho Fair: Skins- AbFab, ~CandyMetal~, Dulce Secrets, em,

Everyone likes to spruce up their avi from time to time and at the Boho Culture Fair, a number of designers have offered at least one skin.

AbFab offers a specialty skin with a rainbow make-up as part of it's Boho Culture Fair participation. It's a 1L special and certain to brighten your overall look.

~CandyMetal~, already featured on my blog earlier this week for boots and clothing, offers this array of skins. The color ranges from a dark to a pale. The texture of the skin works well on the natural layer of each face, making it easy to apply layers of make-up later to glam up your look.

Dulce Secrets have been around a very long time. Not quite as long as I've been in SL but almost... and they've had a famous selection of skins circulate that were free or nearly free to help sponsor new members to Second Life. They also make a myriad of new skins each season and two that will appear at the Boho Fair are seen- Brynn Riesling Desert Wind and Nyree Pernod. As long as I've known this company, they've always named the skins after alcoholic beverages. No idea why but it's a cool way to do it.

As far as tastes go, everyone has their own particular essence, base color and so forth that they like. Some prefer a more youthful skin while others like a more adult look. The skin shown above from English Muffin aka em - this is my favorite I've seen so far from all the skins shown for the fair. There are 5 tones and the one shown here is tone #1.

More skins to come...

Boho Culture Fair: Earth & Skies, Dada Beiz, DDWx, Mimi's Boutique

So many fun treats await you as the Boho Culture Fair prepares to open it's doors in less than a week!

Face Paint, Emotions Hair, and Candy Nails

Earth & Skies put together this unique mesh top and skirt. It's unique because the top has been made sheer and I haven't seen many attempts with mesh doing this yet. Under the mesh top, you can faintly tell there's a blue bit of negligee. Shoes peeking out from under the skirt are part of a collection of four different colors (blue as the base color seen in the photo) that are mosaic creations that could only fit into the bohemian style. I just recently discovered Dada Biez and these shoes are definitely great examples of their craftsmanship and fit well in with the theme of the fair.

Emotions Hair, Artistry by ~E~, Mimi's Boutique Dress

DDWx also called Demented Dreamworx shares this little backpack bear in three colors. If you need a little friend to go with you in the wild wide world of Second Life, this little guy could surely make a good traveling companion.

Face Paint, Emotions Hair, Artistry by ~E~, .::VDI::. Heels, Candy Nails

My last item for tonight comes from Mimi's Boutique. There are four different floral patterns with four different base colors. I chose rose (of course! I'm a rose fanatic) and looked at the other color options as well. Each are brilliantly colored, and do a great job of offering a throwback to another era while keeping everything modern and chic.

Boho Culture Fair: [essencial], [nn] and DEW

Two posts tonight with news from the upcoming Boho Culture Fair. Only six days left till doors open and you can buy all of the terrific stuff created especially for this fair.

Face Paint, Emotions Hair, Artistry by ~E~, N-Core Heels, Sexy Mama Nails

DEW brings a shirt dress that looks like a tunic straight from the Haight Ashbury forty years ago. Pinkish is the color I chose to model but there are other colors available - black, brown, cream and dark blue. You could wear this as a dress or add a pair of leggins and a pair of boots for a completely different vibe.

Face Paint, Emotions Hair, Artistry by ~E~, Sexy Mama Nails

This maxi dress from [essencial] really works well with the tapestry texture that remains a wild favorite among those designing for the bohemian style. The color choices applied on this mesh dress make it perfect for autumn.

Face Paint, Emotions Hair, Candy Nails

[nn] also created a mesh dress, but theirs is much shorter. The bold polka dots on it really revisit the 70s. This dress also has color options: Pink, shown in the photo above, plus green, orange and purple.

Boho Fair: [QE]Designs, ArisAris, Avian, Mimi Noire, MiWardrobe and Tenjin

Several new outfits, some great jewelry and a beautiful tattoo come to you from the Boho Fair preview tonight.

Face Paint, Emotions Hair, .:DZ:. Glasses, Sexy Mama Nails, Syrenz Bangles, and Crystalline Earrings

The patchwork on the skirt for this set from [QE]Designs really took me back to a childhood where my far away grandmother sent me home sewn clothing. It was the 70s and the style was far more chic than I gave her credit for at the time. This skirt, paired with an awesome gold tank, is perfect for this Boho Culture Fair, and a good memory as well.

Face Paint, Emotions Hair, N-Core Shoes (left), ALB Boots (right), Artistry by ~E~, Sexy Mama Nails

ArisAris submitted two entirely different looks, yet both suited the theme of the fair well. I remember the Southwest motif from the pants suit well and thought the colors used really worked well with what was once popular and currently popular simultaneously. The second look comes with layers as well, layers that can be worn together as seen here, or as separates. Alpha layers are included to accurately cover what's necessary, depending on which layers you like. It's a great way to make an outfit more versatile and an even better investment.

Face Paint, Emotions Hair

Feathers fluttered everywhere in the 70s and as Avian's jewelry depicts, they make a great accessory. I modified the feathers so they would be the length of my neck and hang almost vertically. The original setting was an angle and a much larger earring. Colors make this jewelry suitable for a lot of different outfits you already have in your inventory.

Face Paint, Emotions Hair, DigiStylez Bikini

A very different style of earrings comes to the Boho Fair from MiWardrobe. You can get them in gold or silver. Oversized jewelry is the rage at the moment, and these earrings with multiple circles fit the bill.

Face Paint, Emotions Hair, [Devicious] Swimwear

Mimi Noire chose the lotus flower to create a necklace in three different metals. You see gold, gun metal grey and silver. The lotus flower has been a significant symbol for literally thousands of years and when it was used in the 1970s, it represented a people who had gone through a hard time and were not coming out of it.

Emotions Hair, DigiStylez Bikini

Brightly colored birds make this tattoo from Tenjin hard to miss. As birds have symbolized freedom for centuries, as the issues of civil liberties and a break from the establishment marked the turbulent 70s, this tattoo radiates the energy associated to freedom and every generation's urgent desire to reach for it.
